일상공간을 소재로 한 감성표현에 관하여

Abstract

현대 미술은 문화의 복합적 다원주의적 경향에 맥락을 같이하여 자기 조명적 시각에서의 표현 전개방식에 주력함으로써 장르구분이 모호해지는 양상을 띄고 있다. 염색도 섬유예술의 한 분야로서 일상적 재료의 폭넓은 이해와 시도, 다양한 기법에 의한 자기 표현에 몰두함으로써 현대미술의 시대적 맥락을 같이하고 있다. 그러나 표현이 궁극적으로 인간의 내적 표출이라는 점에서 예술에 있어서 표현은 무엇을 의미하는지 의문을 제기하지 않을 수 없다. 결과적으로 예술의 주체는 인간이며, 예술가는 환경속에 움직이고 변화하는 실체로서 삶의 주변적 관계에 의한 경험에서 자신이 본질적으로 추구하는 바를 감성을 통해 형상화한다. 그러므로 표현은 삶의 경험들이 표출되어진 삶 자체를 실현하는 의미와 동질의 것이며, 그러한 표현은 주변에 대한 자신의 소통 욕구로 해석되어질 수 있다는 결론에 도달하였다. 본 연구자의 작업은 삶에서 '관계'들이 이루어지고 끝나는, 이원적 요소들이 역동성을 이루며 조화를 형성하는 일상적 공간을 표현하는 데 주력한다. 이러한 공간의 표현은 화면에 의식적인 선과 무의식적인 선을 공존시킴으로써 대변해 간다. 특히 알콜에 의한 무의식적인 선은 알콜의 번지는 특성을 감성 표현의 대체제로 사용한 것으로써 얇고 조직이 치밀한 견섬유 위에서 보다 효과적으로 이루어져 간다. 이때 알콜은 섬유에 염색된 염료를 밀어내어 소멸시키는 역할을 함으로써 작품안에서 생성과 소멸이라는 이원적 보편성을 반영한다. 그러나 표현에 있어서 알콜의 무작위적, 우연적 번지기 효과는 감성에 의해 형성되는 직관적 필치로, 이러한 무의식적인 면을 통제하여 감성적 측면을 최대한 반영한 독자적 터치를 추구한다는 것이 어려운 과제였다. 본 연구자에게 있어서 일상공간은 무한한 감성적 체험을 제공하면서 표현에로의 조형의지로 연결시킨다. 그러나 모든 것이 이원적 보편성을 지니며 가변성을 추구하듯 본 연구자의 작품도 변화를 추구하는 삶의 선상에 공존한다. 이러한 작품의 변화는 삶에서 새로이 형성되는 관계와 그것을 표현 가능하게 대변해줄 물리적 요소-재료에 대한 탐구와 모색을 기반으로 한다. 하지만 무엇보다 중요한 것은 그것이 언제나 '나'라는 본질적 실체를 구심점으로 한다는 것이다. 그런 의미에서 본 연구자는 삶 속에 내재하는 생활자로서, 살아있는 동안 삶의 경험에서 자신이 추구하는 본질을 작품을 통해 드러내 보이기를 멈추지 않을, 삶을 실천하는 표현자로 실재한다고 보아야 옳을 것이다.;The modern fine arts has developed in parallel with the complex pluralism of culture and it has assumed an aspect of giving vague distinction between genre of arts by its stressing the mode of expression from his own standpoint of each artist. As a field of fiber art, dyeing have developed in connection with the trend of the modern fine arts through the broad understanding and attempt of materials found in everyday life and expression of itself by various technique. However, I cannot but raise a question about what expression really means considering that an expression is a manifestation of the innerworld of human being. In view of results so far achieved, the subject of art is human being and artist, as a substance moving and changing under circumstance, shapes what he essentially pursue through his sentiments on the basis of experiences that have been acquired in the relationship with others in everyday life. And it came to a conclusion that expression in art is, in some sense, homogeneous with realization of life itself that is expressed as experiences of life and the expression can be construed as his desire of communication with the surroundings. The present researcher has put forth strength on the expression of everyday space where relationship in life is formed and ended, and dualistic factors show dynamism and harmony. The expression of space represents everyday life by making conscious lines and unconscious lines existing together on a canvas. Especially, the unconscious lines mixed with alcohol spread effectively on the dense silk fabric by taking advantage of its spread effect as a substitution materials. Alcohol reflects the dualistic universality of formation and extinction in the light that it extrude and extinguish the dye-stuff attached on fiber. But it was a difficult jop to create an original touch that reflects the aspect of sentiments by controlling the unconscious aspect of everyday life with the intuitive touch formed by sentiments in the expression through making use of the rendom and casual effect of spread of alcohol. As usual, everyday space supply the present researcher with the unlimited experiences of sentiments and also, it arouses the will to expression. However as everything has dualistic universality in it, the work of the present research exist on the level of life pursuing changes. The change in the works was made on the basis of research and study of relationship experienced in life and physical factors-materials that make the expression possible. The most important thing, however, is that the essential substance, that is myself has become the center of creation of art. In that, it is proper to say that the present research who make live in life, exist as a real being who express and practice a life and do not hesitate to express the essence of what I pursue through works.
