행위로 이루어진 심상 표현

Abstract

Throughout the very beginning of the 20th century, the modern arts which covered the whole European paintings by an expressionism overcame and stood above the reality of space and time. That is, from the second half of the 19th century had there been the tendency to seek a purity such as an expression of inner sentiment in a many side. A real valuable thing among many products of this modern arts is that it expanded its techniques and genre in a free thought of formation. Such an atmosphere of the whole arts brought as a new genre in the modern arts the fiber formation or fiber arts which was called dyeing-craft or fabric-craft. This researcher was in anguish between practicability of the craft and its artistic value. But, since the expression itself is to shape experience in a life of the artist himself, it has a direct relationship with a true agony of the artist as 'the social human.' Based on these facts, it seems that both sides of the craft can be unified on the same level. In other words, the matter is not a tendency of the work, but the artist's inner truth in it. What is intended by this researcher is an expression of feelings by the inner truth. And I rested upon the work activity done in an unconciousness for an expression of this abstract form. Also, I put an emphasis of the research on the principle of Kiunsaengdong (氣韻生動) which is the best among the Six Law (六法) of the Chinese painting thought. These theoretical backgrounds bring out two conclusions. First, this researcher intended to make a line of essential form in this work that is a spontaneous and free line, and is free from myself. Also, it is meaningful in that my pure world and inner truth was confirmed in a procedure of expression in a continuous question. Second, it seems to me a good study in that the movement sense of brush touch and dispersing and the dye blotting in batik meet the compatibility as a means for an end of abstract impulse and expression. The work done by these formative factors will become a more confirmed result when added more question and study of inner truth.;20세기 벽두에 걸쳐 유럽회화 전체를 물들인 표현주의적 성격인 현대미술은 공간과 시간의 현실성을 극복하고 초월하였다. 즉 자신의 내부의 정념을 표현하는 순수성 추구의 경향은 19세기 후엽부터 다각도로 보여진다. 이러한 흐름의 현대미술이 성취한 여러 성과중에서 우리가 정말로 가치있게 생각하는 것은 자유로운 조형사고속에 그 기법과 장르를 확대시켰다는 점이다. 그와같은 예술전반의 분위기는 공예의 한 분야로서 염색공예나 직물공예로 알려졌던 것을 '섬유조형' 또는 '섬유예술'로서 현대미술의 새로운 장르로 등장하게 하였다. 본 연구자는 공예개념의 실용성 여부문제나 예술적 의미 부여에 많은 갈등이 있었지만, 표현 그 자체가 작가 그 자신의 삶속에서의 경험이 형상화되는 것이기에 '사회적 인간'으로서 작가의 진실한 고민과 직접적 연관성을 가지고 있을 뿐만 아니라, 이러한 인식의 기초위에 양자의 입장은 평면위에 통일되어진다는 생각이다. 즉 한 작업의 경향이 어떠한 것이던 간에 그 작가 나름대로의 작업이 얼마나 내적인 진실성을 가지고 있는가가 문제인 것같다. 본 연구자가 표현하고자 한 것은 이러한 내적 진실성에 의한 감정의 표출이다. 그리고 이러한 추상적 형식의 표출을 위해 무의식에서 이루어지는 제작활동에 의존했으며, 또한 중요한 요소로 동양회화 사상의 육법중에서 가장 의뜸이 되는 기운생동의 원칙에 연구 중점을 두었다. 이러한 이론적 배경은 몇가지 결론에 도달하게 한다. 첫째, 작품화면은 自發的인 線과 自由線으로 내 자신으로부터 해방될 수 있는 본질적 형태의 선(線)을 만들어내고자 하였다. 또한, 내적 진실성의 물음의 연속속에서 순수한 나의 세계에 대한 표현과 그 표현에 대한 확인의 과정으로서 의의를 삼고자 하였다. 둘째, 파라핀 방염에서 붓터치의 운동감과 뿌리기, 그리고 염료 번지기 등은 추상충동과 표현이라는 목적을 위한 수단의 整合性을 갖춘다는 점에서 좋은 연구작업이라고 생각된다. 이러한 조형요소를 통해 이루어진 작업은 내적 진실에 대한 보다 많은 물음과 연구가 더해질 때 좀더 확인된 결과가 될 것이다.
