꽃의 환상적 이미지 표현

Abstract

Nature's rules are amazing and mysterious ; there is a quiet order in which harmonious balance is achieved. Therefore, nature is the source of man's creativity. Man has lived thus far maintaining close relations with nature. In the above natural order, flowers in particular bring man happiness because of their varied form and structure. Flowers stir a beautiful impulse in man. The artist uses his intuition to better understand the essence of life ; every art from that's a symbolic expression of nature is found where ever man is. I have chosen flowers to be my major subject and I have expressed my interpretation of flowers, groping to realize their visionary beautiful possibility. A theory is in order to realize this purpose. First, I will talk about the expression of nature in art that is, the relationship between nature that is the source of art and art that is the expression of the artist's impression of nature originating from the world of his imagination. Second, art and its expression allow us to grasp the truth ; Art and its expression give us a way to free ourselves from our individual solitude. Art is the means by which the relationship between man and nature is restored. For that purpose, the artist through his expression gives from to his emotions, his view of life, and his feelings. Thrid, in the plastic arts, the method of expression leads to effective and visionary results when the art form can be completely conceptualized visually. On the basis of this theory, I have made six waxdyed works. The analysis of the works have produced the following results. First, man's endless desire for moulding that orizinates in nature began at genesis ; moulding paves a way to self-realization and re-establishment. The artist's conscious world finds spiritual expression and it's meaning it visually perceived. Second, in the order of nature which is mysterious and true, flowers are a particularly apt subject for they enable expression of order and visionary. Third, in the process of dyeing, flowers that express visionary evoka a soft image because of the material's character. The gradation effects of the dye are very fitting to express nature's order as well as the life and space of the flower. Fourth, the wax-dyed work that uses paraffin is one unique way of dyeing which can be explained through the process of moulding. In the furture, what I've studied thus for, though incomplete and imperfect, will serve as a basis to explore the possibility of dyeing by using the various material available, developing skills, and continuing the work and study of the dyeing process.;自然의 法則은 놀랍고 신비하며 조용한 질서 속에서 조화있는 균형을 이루고 있다. 그러므로 그러한 자연은 인간의 조형활동에 모체가 되었으며, 인간은 자연과 밀접한 관계를 유지하면서 살아왔다. 그러한 자연의 질서 속에서 특히 꽃이라는 대상은 인간을 즐겁게 해주는 형태와 구조의 美가 무한하여, 美的인 충동을 유발하기에 충분하다. 따라서 예술가가 직관에 의해 자연의 본질적 생명력에 접근하며 자연에서의 心象을 표현하려는 조형행위는, 인간이 존재하는 곳이면 어디서나 존재하기 마련이다. 그러므로 본 연구자는 표현 대상을 자연속의 꽃으로 정하고, 나름대로의 주관적인 이미지로 형상화 하여서, 염색에 의한 율동적인 표현 과정을 통해 환상적 이미지의 美的 가능성을 모색하는데 그 목적을 둔다. 이러한 목적을 위하여 이론적 배경으로는 첫째. 자연과 예술에 대하여 서술하는데, 모든 예술의 근원인 자연과 예술가의 정신적 세계를 거친 또 하냐의 자연이라 할 수 있는 예술과의 관계를 알아본다. 둘째, 예술과 표현에 있어서 진실을 파악하며 인간 자신이 고독화된 위치로 부터 자신을 해방하는 수단이며, 자연과의 관련을 회복하는 하나의 도구이기도 한 예술과, 그러기 위해서 작가는 표현적인 선택을 통해, 그의 정서냐 인생관 또는 內的 감정을 형상화하고자 한다. 셋째, 조형 예술에 있어서 율동적인 표현 방식은 작품의 유기체 전체가 시각에 집중되었을 때에 효과적이며 환상적인 반응을 불러 일으킨다. 이러한 이론을 바탕으로 6점의 염색작품을 초방염법으로 제작 분석하여 다음과 같이 결론을 얻었다. 첫째. 자연에 대한 인간의 끊임없는 조형적 욕구는 원초적인 것으로, 조형은 자아인식, 회복의 수단이 되며. 작가의 의식 세계를 영혼의 표현으로, 어떠한 것을 의미하는 시각언어로 나타난다. 둘째, 자연의 신비롭고 참된 질서 속에서 물이라는 소재는 그것이 지니는 구조의 미가 질서있고, 율동성을 중심으로 한 환상적인 표현에 매우 적절한 소재가 되었다. 셋째, 염색에 의한 제자 과정에서 꽃의 환상적인 표현은 그 재료의 특성으로 부드러운 이미지를 표출할 수 있었고 염색에 의한 gradation효과는 자연의 질서와 물의 생명감 내지는 공간성을 형성하는데 매우 적절하였다. 넷째, 파라핀을 이용한 초방염법은 염색 특유의 독특한 기법의 하나로서 염색의 조형적인 표현이 가능하였다. 따라서 앞으로는 이번 연구의 미흡함이 밑거름이 되어 재료의 다양성, 기법의 개발, 지속적인 작품 활동과 연구를 통하여 염색 공예의 조형적 표현에 가능성을 타진해 보고자 한다.
