조선시대 창살문양을 응용한 복식디자인

Abstract

Being different in its own tradition and culture, every country has its proper tradition of the culture with special characteristics and images. It results in the distinctive design accompanying originality of its own. Recently we have revitalized our points of view about Korean tradition in every sphere, especially in the field of design. Therefore we now design the product holding the image of Korea. It is remarkable that works with the traditional images are showing up in the field of fashion design. At this point of time the subject of this treatise is about the window-lattice pattern, which is one of Korean traditional moulding forms. Considering its theoretical background, the writer suggests the availability in the modern fashion design beyond its revival. And the principal methods of garment-making are the practical application of the patchwork, transferred print-dye, fold ＆ dipped dye, and the dyeing of silk-screen process. Then methodical technologies are mentioned briefly. Main materials are linen, cotton ＆ linen, and silk chiffon. Figured cotton textile are used partially. The writer intended to express modern sense through the slack but simple line as the silhouette of the works. 9 works were made in that proper form. In this treatise the writer tried to recognize the possibility that our tradition could be applied in various ways. It is as follows. 1. By patching linen on linen along with silk-chiffon on silk-chiffon, the writer tried to display window-lattice pattern in order to present the visual dual-effect by making the most of the character of patched silk-chiffon. 2. By patching patterned cotton textile on linen the writer evoked unusual mood to smooth the rigid lines of window-lattice. 3. After the process of transferred print-dye and fold ＆ dipped dye, cotton was printed by silk-screen process in addition to being patched on it. The writer combined abstract window-lattice pattern which was expressed by transferred print-dye and fold ＆ dipped dye and geometric window-lattice printed by silk-screen process. The writer applied the diverse traditional materials to the works which express our own uniqueness. Like this we should display our own beauty by making use of traditional materials in the fashion-design area. And we must grope for new method to manifest it.;어느 민족, 나라든간에 그들이 가지고 있는 풍습과 문화가 각각 다르고, 그들 고유의 특성과 이미지가 담긴 각각의 전통 문화가 있다. 그것에 따라 그들 고유의 개성을 지닌 특색있는 디자인이 발생된다. 우리나라에서도 최근들어 디자인 및 모든 분야에 전통적인 것에 대한 인식을 새롭게 하게 되고 한국의 이미지가 담겨져 있는 디자인을 하기에 이르렀다. 특히 복식 (fashion) 분야에서도 전통적인 이미지로 표현된 작품들이 최근들어 많은 디자이너들에 의해 발표되어지고 있는 것은 주목할 만하다. 이러한 시점에서 본 논문에서는 우리의 전통적 조형 양식 중의 하나인 창살 문양을 주제로 그것의 이론적 배경을 고찰하고, 나아가 복식 디자인에 응용함으로써 단순히 전통의 재현을 넘어서 복식에의 현대적 표현 활용 가능성을 제시하여 보았다. 또한 작품 제작의 주된 방법으로는 패치워크(patchwork)와 전사염(transferred print dye), 접고담그기 (fold and dipped dye), 그리고 실크스크린(silk screen)의 염색을 응용하였으며 그것들에 대한 방법적 기법을 간략히 언급하였고, 여러 창살 문양 중 작품에 응용될 문양을 선정하고, 그것들의 선의 성격을 분석하여 작품에 어떻게 표현하는가를 규명 하였다. 소재로는 주로 마, 면마섬유, 견노방 그외에 무늬있는 목공단, 면섬유를 부분적으로 사용하였고 작품의 실루엣은 풍성하면서도 단순한 선을 통해 현대적 감각을 표현하고자 하였다. 그렇게 해서 제작된 작품의 수는 총 9점이다. 본 논문에서 필자는 우리의 전통적인 것을 충분히 응용할 수 있는 가능성의 인식과 또한 서로 다른 방법에 의한 다양한 표현 가능성을 나타내고자 하였다. 우리 고유의 전통 문화를 통한 전통적 소재들은 다양하며 그것을 응용하여 표현된 작품은 우리 고유의 독특한 개성이 담겨져 있는 것이다. 이렇듯 우리 복식 디자인 영역에서도 전통적인 소재를 충분히 활용하여 고유의 미를 나타내어야 하며 그것의 표현에 있어 새로운 방법을 모색하고자 다각적인 노력이 이루어져야 하겠다.
