地理學習缺陷에 대한 硏究

Abstract

당면한 敎育의 諸 問題 중에서 學力低下現象을 중심 과제로 선정하고 地理敎育의 效率性 增大 方案 摸索을 目標로 本 論文을 試圖 하였다. 中學校가 1969年 이후 무시험추첨, 高等學校는 1974年 부터 平準化 실시 이후 學力低下現象은 수차 論難되었으나 뚜렷한 原因糾明이나 그 對策에 대하여 深刻히 대처해오지 못한 實情이다. 우선 國土地理 分野만이라도 原因과 對策을 糾明하여 보고자 1983학년도 入文系 高等學校 3學年 學生의 "地下資源 分布와 利用"에 관한 學習不振現象을 硏究對象으로 하여 內在되어 있는 問題들을 多角的으로 糾明하므로서 敎育發展에 다소나마 寄與하고자 한다. 硏究方法으로 學習의 第1資料인 敎科書를 分析하였다. 學習低下現象은 일정기간의 結果만으로는 原因지을 수 없으므로 學習者가 使用한 初 · 中 · 高等學校 敎科書를 통한 縱的分析을 試圖하였다. 敎育水準과 量은 學習者의 發達水準에 符合되어야 效果를 發揮하므로 Piaget의 認知發達論을 根據로 하여 敎科書를 分析하였다. 國土地理에 대한 學習者의 心理狀態를 杷握하고 效果的인 敎授一學習方法 摸索을 위해 設問調査를 實施하였으며, 敎科書 分析結果와 相互 중복(Overlap) 시킴으로 硏究의 信賴度를 높이고자 하였다. 以上의 方法에 의해 學習缺陷의 原因으로 다음 事項을 發見하였다. 첫째, 敎科書는 Piaget의 認知發達段階理論의 適用이 相異하게 되어 있다. Piaget는 形式的 操作期를 11歲 또는 13歲 以後로 區分하였고 이 年齡은 우리나라 兒童의 國民學校 5學年 이후에 해당된다. 그러나 敎科書 分析結果 이 時期를 10歲로 앞당기고 있어 形式的 操作期를 앞당긴 것으로 推定된다. 둘째, Piaget의 認知理論인 知識位階性 반영이 미약하다. 知識의 量과 質이 合理的 配列에 위배되므로 低學年에서 充分한 理解到達이 곤란하여 學習不振의 누적을 초래하고 學力低下를 惹起시키는 原因이 되고 있다. 셋째, 敎科書의 地圖는 過少한 活字의 使用과 複雜한 內容의 記載로 地理學習의 興味를 低下시키며, 心理的 負擔感을 주어 地理敎科를 難解한 敎科로 認識시키는 原因이 되었다. 넷째, 國土地理의 興味度는 比較的 높은 편이며, 그중 가장 學習하기 因難한 部分은 암기량이 많은 內容으로 判明되었다. 다섯째, 學習者가 선정한 效果的인 敎授一學習方法은 理解를 전재로 한 授業方法으로 학습동기유발이나 記憶保存의 持續을 위하여는 實生活의 應用度를 높이고 多樣한 學習資料를 使用함을 要하였다. 充分한 敎材硏究를 통한 자신감있고 열정적인 敎師의 態度는 學習者에게 큰 感銘을 주었다. 그러나 敎料書의 科學化를 達成하기 위한 가장 重要한 事項은 韓國人의 認知發達에 대한 硏究와 地理學習의 槪念에 대한 系列化 硏究가 先行되어야 하므로 이 分野의 繼續的인 硏究가 절실히 要請 된다.;This thesis was purposed to investigate the reason of scholastic ability degradation and tried to seek the method of effective enchancement for Geography Education among the faced problems in the field of Education. After no-entrance examination of Middle School from 1969, and equalization of High School from 1974, scholastic ability degradation has been raised many problems, however, the outstanding proper research and counterplan did not take better policy up to now. Hence the main aim in this study was to present the method of effective promotion of the Geography Education, attempting to analyze and to estimate many causes which have ivolved with. For the study was chosen "the Distribution and Utility of Natural Resourses" learned by the third year students of high school in 1983. As the method of this study, textbook used by the students was selected, with which they have already studied when primary school, middle school and high school days and studied based on "Origins of Intellect : Piaget's Theory·" Questionaire was for study psychological state of students and teaching method. The result may be summerized as follows, First, structures contents of textbook was out of order for the application of the Piaget's Four Stage Theory for Intellectual Development. According to him, the formal operation period regarded as 11 years old and this stage was, however, equivalent to 5 year students in Korea primary school. In view of the fact, but in Korea students' age was 10 years old. After all we could easily presume that textbook has been advanced this period one or two years more. Second, in textbook the step level and volume of the contents disodered. Accordingly it was pointed out that this was led into scholastic degradation by proceeding their classwork without any conprehension contents. Third, because of the very dimunitive letter on the map inserted into textbook, students recognized that Geography sbuject is very difficult. It also revealed a notable cause of the relevant degradation Of the students' Classwork. Fourth, students have been interested in Geography subject, but one of the most difficult learing in Geography, was memorizing textbook contents. Fifth, it is necessary to apply daily life matters for teaching procedure subject to learing motivation and keeping memory. Furthermore, teacher's textbook research is one of the important thing, together with cofident and passionate teaching in class. Finally, in older to formalize scientific textbook, the contents should be selected an appropriate study for intellectual development and step of conception for textbook contents, and should be continued to examine in reasonable detail for the properous future.
