섬유를 이용한 어린이 봉제완구 놀이에 관한 연구

Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to build up an opportunity to recognize the impotance of play for children and to create the play tools which children like better than ready-made ones and which are suitable for their tastes and abilities in using toys, the implements for playing, which can be the essence of children's lives. To approach this purpose, I have tried to grasp the shapes of play through the theoretical background of play and its tools and to concentrate this study on the play tools made of textile materials. Therefore, the kind, special feature, and play effect of stuffed toys made of textile materials have been examined through literature. An indirect examination was made by way of the questionnaire to grasp not only the scope of use and the degree of liking about the stuffed toys but also the present situation of the play tools made of textile materials. The parents of five or six-year-old children in the middle and upper classes in Daegu, the children in the first or second grade of Daegu Health school for the crippled, and five or six-year-old children in the lower chasses in Changwon were examined. The present situation of the following items has been classified, added up and analyzed. 1. The present situation of the stuffed toys used by children in their houses. 2. The degree of the making and using the stuffed toys. 3. The kinds of the stuffed toys. 4. The shapes of the stuffed toys. 5. The colors of the stuffed toys. 6. The sizes of the stuffed toys. 7. The textile materials of the stuffed toys. 8. The quality of the stuffed toys. 9. The prices of the stuffed toys. 10. The purchase reasons of the stuffed toys. 11. The play forms of the stuffed toys. The conclusion of this study is as follows: (1) Most families have the textile play tools which are ready-made. From now on, parents should be interested in making them and playing with their children. (2) Made of textiles, feeling smooth and not dangerous, the stuffed toys are recommandable especially for the crippled and the feeble-minded children. (3) The kinds of the stuffed toys now are static so that they may be used in houses. There are very few play tools which are rather active and can help the social growth. Although they are made of textile materials, the stuffed toys are reported to have an unlimited possibility, with the positive participation of the design side. (4) The stuffed toys now used attach importance to the concrete animals and dolls. They are also alike in materials and shapes. We should develop multiform shapes such as abstract and artificial things, plant shapes, etc., to let the children free and busy give their own meaning and imagine for themselves. (5) The colors are usually fit for the children's color taste of our country, However, there are problems of poisonous color and dyeing technique, which should be researched and developed. (6) They get so easily dirty that the study of developing is needed to wash easily and to preserve their original shapes well. (7) They are broken so easily in the midst of use that we should pay attention to making them strong and not to be broken easily. (8) The main reason for selecting the stuffed toys is to refine children's emotion. However, male children get tired of them so soon that the shapes fit for their taste should be developed. The eight items above should be imporved and developed to build up children's character and parents ought to take a great interest in guiding play.;본 연구는 어린이들에게 있어서 놀이의 중요성을 인식하고 어린이 생활의 본질이라 할 수 있는 놀이의 도구인 완구를 이용함에 있어서 이미 만들어진 완구보다는 어린이들의 능력에 의해서 만들어지는 놀이 기구의 계기를 마련하는데 있다. 이 목적에 접근하기 위하여 놀이와 놀이도구의 이론적 배경을 통하여 놀이의 성격을 파악하고 이를 바탕으로 한 놀이에서 특히 섬유재료를 이용한 놀이 도구에 대하여 집중적으로 연구하기로 하였다. 따라서 섬유재료를 이용한 봉제 완구의 종류, 특징, 유희 효과등을 문헌을 통해 고찰하였다. 또한 봉제 완구의 활용 범위와 기호도에 관한 파악 및 가정에서 가지고 있는 봉제 완구의 현황을 파악하기 위하여 설문지를 통한 간접 조사를 실시하였다. 조사 대상은 대구의 도심 지역, 변두리 지역의 만 5, 6세의 어린이 부모들과 지체 부자유 어린이를 위한 국민 학교의 1, 2학년 어린이의 부모들 그리고 농촌 지역에 거주하는 만 5, 6세의 어린이 부모들로 하였다. 조사 내용은 다음과 같은 항목들에 대한 현황을 분류, 집계, 분석하였다. ① 어린이가 가정에서 갖고 있는 봉제 완구의 소유 여부 ② 봉제 완구를 가정에서 만들어 사용하는 정도 ③ 봉제 완구의 종류 ④ 봉제 완구의 형태 ⑤ 봉제 완구의 색채 ⑥ 봉제 완구의 크기 ⑦ 봉제 완구의 섬유재료 ⑧ 봉제 완구의 품질 ⑨ 봉제 완구의 가격 ⑩ 봉제 완구의 구입 이유 ⑪ 봉제 완구를 이용한 놀이 형태 이러한 문제점을 대상으로 종합하여 본 결과 다음과 같은 문제점을 들 수 있었다. ① 섬유를 이용한 봉제 완구는 대부분의 가정에서 가지고 있지만 만들어 사용하는 경우 보다는 시중에 제품화 되어 있는 봉제 완구를 구입해서 쓰고 있으므로 앞으로 각 가정에서는 어린이와 더불어 만들고 같이 놀이 할 수 있도록 부모들이 관심을 가져야 하겠다. ② 봉제 완구는 섬유를 재료로 만들기 때문에 그 느낌이 부드럽고 다칠 염려가 없으므로 지체 부자유 어린이, 정신 박약 어린이들에게 특히 권장 되어져야 하겠다. ③ 현재 봉제 완구의 종류는 대개 집안에서 가지고 놀 수 있는 정적인 놀이 형태로만 이용 할 수 있으므로 비교적 활동적이고, 신체적 발달을 도울 수 있는 놀이의 형태가 희박한 실정이다. 따라서 앞으로는 비록 섬유를 재료로 한 봉제 완구라 할지라도 디자인적인 측면에서 개발한다면 무한한 가능성을 가질 수 있다. ④ 봉제 완구의 형태는 구상적인 동물과 인형에 치중되어져 있으면 그 소재와 형태가 거의 비슷한 것들로만 생산되어지고 있으므로 자유 분방한 어린이들로 하여금 스스로의 의미를 부여하고 상상할 수 있는 추상형이나 식물형태, 인공형태등 다양한 형태의 개발이 필요하다. ⑤ 색채는 대체로 우리 나라 아동의 색채 기호에 따르고 있지만 유해 색소와 염색 기술등의 문제가 있으므로 연구 개발 되어져야 하겠다. ⑥ 섬유를 재료로 만들어져 있기 때문에 가지고 노는 사이에 빨리 더러움을 타게 되므로 세탁이 용이하고 원형그대로 보관이 가능한 섬유재료의 개발을 위한 연구가 필요하다. ⑦ 봉제 완구를 이용한 놀이 도중에 봉제한 곳이 터지거나 몸체의 일부분이 떨어지는 경우가 있으므로 견고하게 만들어져서 쉽게 파손되는 일이 없도록 제작시 유의하여야 한다. ⑧ 봉제 완구의 선택 이유가 아동의 정서 순화에 목적을 많이 두고 있으나 남자 어린이의 경우는 봉제 완구에 빨리 싫증을 내게되므로 남자 어린이들의 기호에도 맞는 형태의 개발이 되어야 한다. 이상의 문제들은 어린이들의 성장을 도와서 완전한 인격체로 육성하기 위해서 연구 개발되어 그 개선을 기해야 하겠으며 가정에서도 자라나는 어린이들의 심리적, 신체적 발육을 면밀히 관찰하여 그들의 꿈, 정서, 기호등에 적절하고 효과적인 놀이지도가 이루어져야 한다.
