유아기 학부모의 독서지도에 관한 일 연구

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 유아기 아동의 독서지도 방법을 문헌을 통해 조사하고, 질문지를 통해 독서 및 독서지도 실태를 파악하여 비교해 보는 데 있다. 본 연구에서 사용한 주된 도구는 김경일의 독서실태조사의 방법을 참고하고, 김병주의 아동의 독서실태에 관한 분석적 연구에 사용한 질문지를 참고하여 본인이 작성한 「독서 실태에 관한 질문지」였으며, 표집대상은 서울지역에 거주하는 155명의 유아기 아동의 부모이다. 질문지를 통해 조사한 내용은 다음과 같다. 1 . 독서 및 독서지도에 대한 태도 2 . 독서경향 3 . 독서방법 4 . 독서환경 5 . 도서량 및 독서량 6 . 도서구입 이상과 같은 유아기 아동의 독서실태에 관한 조사에서 얻은 결과에서 다음과 같은 결론과 제언을 얻었다. 유아기 아동의 부모들이 독서와 독서지도의 필요성에 대한 의식은 높은 편이지만, 독서지도에 대한 방법은 모르는 부모가 많다. 그러므로 유아의 독서지도에 대한 전문가들의 의견을 들을 기회가 제공되어야 했다. 유아기 아동의 독서방법은 부모와 함께 읽는것과 부모가 읽는 것을 그림만 보고 듣기만 하는 것을 즐기는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 아동의 책에 대한 관심은 매우 높으며 따라서 많은 독서자료가 구비된 가정의 유아들은 더 많은 독서를 하는 경향이 발견되었다. 독서경향에 대해서는 그림이 많은 그림책이나 그림과 글자가 비슷하게 배열되어 있는 그림동화책을 읽는 것이 발견 되었으며 이것은 유아기 발달단계에 맞는 적절한 선택이다. 독서환경에 있어서는 부모가 비교적 큰 관심을 갖고 분위기 조성에 노력하고 있으며 부모 스스로도 독서함으로써 좋은 영향을 끼치고 있다. 그러나 부모의 도서선택이 다소 통속적이므로 유아의 독서내용에 영향을 미치고 있음이 발견되었다. 또한 누워서 책 읽는 유아가 많은 것으로 밝혀져 유아의 성장 발달면에서 건강문제와 관련하여 볼 때 바람직 하지 못한 현상이다. 도서량 및 독서량은 매우 부족한 편이고 도서 구입시 부모의 의견에 따라 책을 결정하기 때문에 독서지도 방법에 대한 부모의 지식 이 요구된다는 결론에 이른다. 이러한 결과에 대한 제언은 유아기 아동의 독서지도에 대한 부모의 교육이 시급히 요청되며 독서지도에 대한 자료의 연구가 불가피하다. 또한 유아의 독서자료와 공공 도서관의 시설의 확충이 요구되며, 이의 활용도 지도 계몽되어야 할 것이다. 또한 독서 습관의 형성기에 있는 유아의 독서자세도 바람직한 방향으로 개선하기 위해서는 부모의 독서지도 교육 내용에 독서위생에 관한 자료가 포함되어야겠다.;The purpose of this study is to investigate the parential attitude and their resting guidance for their children by analyzing data from the questionaire. The investigator constructed one-hundred fifty five(155) questionaire items. Selecting criteria of the questionaire item was consulted with the previous related study, B.J. Kim's analytical study of children's reading status. The main points of my study are as follows; 1. Parents' attitude towards reading and reading guidance. 2. Reading Tendency 3. Reading methods 4. Reading environment 5. Book collection and Reading volume 6. Purchase of books A survey focused on the above-mentioned has been made and the following conclusions reached. 1. Although the parents' awareness of the necessity of children reading guide is very good, it is true that most of them do not find good methods. 2. On the reading tendency, it is easy to find that infants like fairy tale books with many pictures or books in which letters and pictures are well-balanced. As they are on a physically and mentally developing stage, these types of books are regarded as a proper selection. 3. Two types of children reading was found through the survey. One is to read together with their parents and the other is to enjoy watching the pictures in the book hearing their parents reading. Infants are fond of books and it is revealed that infants whose home furnishes many books read more. 4. On reading environment, parents showes relatively varied interests and try to create a good atmosphere in which infants are encouraged to read books. Furthermore the fact that parents read the books themselves give favorable effect to the children. However, the parents choose rather common and popular book for there children. It cannot be neglected that the books like those may be harmful to children. There is one negative aspect to infants' fondness of reading. That is, as their physical growth matters it may not be good for their health. 5. On book collection and reading volume, it is surveyed that families do not have a large collection and reading. Also we can reach the conclusion that parents' Knowledge about reading guide method is necessary because the selection of books totally depends on parents. With the conclusions described above, the following suggestions are given. Wide spread use of reading guide methods is urgently needed and profound study on the methods is inevitable. And also reading materials and public library facilities are to be increased and parents should be enlightened on the frequent use of them. In order to accustom the children in the developing age to reading, materials of reading health are to be included in the contents of reading guidance education.
