현대 종이작업의 조형적 표현연구

Abstract

The modern world of modeling fettered neither by a technique nor a form, found a new point of an artist's view by application of the technique obtained through the interchange with the formative arts. In order to express characteristically and originally, the selections of materials and techniques are the important means to express an artist's inner world. My work is based on Korean traditional hand-made paper processing. The goal of my work is to obtain the effect of the extraordinary texture by Embedding the materials to fuse with the paper mulberry. I gave an emphasis on the paper's own texture and its independent form. The range of the paper modeling workds have the numberless possibilities according to the selection of the mouldering techniques of expressing qualities. These characters of the paper will play an important roll in extending the range of the modern expressing arts as a good art materials.;현대 조형미술의 예술적인 매체로서 새롭게 인식되고 있는 종이의 무한한 조형 가능성은 종이작업이란 행위를 통해 섬유조형예술의 새로운 영역을 확장시키게 되었다. 섬유예술에 있어서 종이작업이 나름의 독특한 예술영역으로 자리잡은 데에는 종이 특유의 질감, 형태, 채색의 종합적 표현효과 때문이다. 이러한 종이작업을 통한 독특한 작품해석과 표현효과는 현대 조형세계의 새로운 인식을 불러일으키고 있다. 본 논문은 종이작업의 새로운 조형적 형태 연구와 종이라는 재료 자체의 재질적 효과에 대하여 살펴보며, 과거와 미래로의 부단한 시간의 흐름 속에서 다양하게 살아가는 인간의 모습과 보다 자유로와지고자 하는 방황과 내면적 갈등을 중점적으로 표현하고자 한다. 작품 제작에 있어서는 Embedding작업과 가장자리를 자연스럽게 Edge효과로 강조하면서 이러한 본래적 의도를 형상화하고, 거친 부조적 표면효과로써 내면적인 굴곡을 표현하려 했다. 또한 종이자체의 더 많은 표현가능성을 모색하므로써 삶의 깊이와 심층적인 정신세계를 표출하고자 노력한다.
