그림동화책의 Illustration 표현에 관한 연구

Abstract

어린이는 끊임없이 자라고 변화하고 반응하는 生體로서 그를 둘러싸고있는 환경의 영향을 받는다. 그중 인위적환경이라 할 수 있는 장난감과 그림동화책은 어린이들에게 성장과정에서 많은 영향력을 끼치게 되는데 특히 그림동화책은 그들이 경험하지 못한 미지의 세계나 새로운 세계를 상상하게 해 주어 다양한 경험을 쌓게 해준다. 이러한 어린시절의 경험은 후일 그들의 정신활동에 커다란 영향을 준다고 볼때 그림동화책은 어린이에게 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 이러한 그림동화책은 글보다 먼저 일러스트레이션이 어피일하게 되는데 이 일러스트레이션은 시각적경험으로 다른 어떤 감각적경험 가운데서도 가장 정신활동에 절대적인 중요성을 가지고 있다. 이러한 그림동화책의 일러스트레이션이 어린이에게 보다 풍부한 상상력을 부여하며, 창조적 능력을 신장시키어 정신적 발달에 도움을 주는 중요한 역할을 하고 있음에도 불구하고 우리나라 그림동화책을 살펴보면 여러 문제점을 가져다 주고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제점의 해결에 다소나마 도움이 되고자 일러스트레이션이 나아가야 할 개선방향을 제시하려는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 이러한 그림동화책 일러스트레이션표현에 대한 연구를 위해 이론적 배경으로 동화책의 교육적 가치와 정신적발달에 주는 영향을 알아보고, 어린이 발달단계표현 특징과 아동화 심리분석에 대하여 문헌을 통해 살펴보았다. 연구방법으로는 현재 발간되어 있는 우리나라 그림동화책과 외국그림동화책에 나타난 문제점을 여러개의 표본수집을 통해 분석하였다. 작품제안에 있어서는 7~9세 어린이들이 가장 그림동화책의 독서량이 많고, 이 시기가 가장 많은 지적, 정서적 성장발달단계라는 점을 고려하여 이 시기의 성장발달표현특징을 바탕으로 하여 시각적인 식능력을 끌어 올리고자 사실적 형태와, 안정감을 주는 중간색으로, 또한 율동과 균형이 있는 공간구성과 회화적인 화면분할로 조형적 감각의 시각적 인식을 높여 주어, 심미적 감동을 주는 동시에, 지적성장 및 정서적 안정을 꾀할 수 있도록 하는데에 중점을 두고 제작하였다.;When we understand that experiences gained in the child-hood affect greatly on their mental activities in the future and visual experiences in particular fall on the most important influence among them, diversification of visual experiences as well as its quality seems to be utmost significant. Visual experiences, in most cases, during the childhood are attained through illustrated books for children. Therefore it is accepted that illustration itself is appeared to be of more importance to children. In this meaning, illustrations should not be presented carelessly when issued in public, but pay attention for children to realize visual experiences properly and to induce formative sence bringing about imagination and creativity. From the point of view as stated, the illustrated fairy tale books currently published in our country are caused emotional and cultural confusions to children because most parts of them insert the very copies of illustrations contained in the foreign country books. They in general have tendancy to reduce the ability to recognize color perception and identification for things in the world due to over-simplified treatment and primary coloring. On this study, as trial to correct the said contradictions, suggestions are proposed as follow; First, the form seems reasonable when it displays concepts and things properly and represents realistic shape. Second, color is preferred to select medium ranges so as to evoke emotional security. Third, in case of space composition, rhythm, equilibrium and harmony are respectively put on special attention. Expression with painting in nature seems appropriate as impression from paiting stuff and orderly partition are applied. In along with above conclusion, this study adopts repell-ancy technics which is mixing watercolor and crayon with gradation technics. At the same time perspective method and illusional method added in order to enlarge dream of imagination. For more effective, stuff of oil painting was put into the illustration which intended to the best use of its essence. With foregoing attempts, it is expected that beauty will be produced as main stream of emphasis which may arise aesthetic emotion that not only contributes the promotion of imagination with creativity to children, but call for realization to his own potentialty and emotional security. In addition to these trials, in offer to improve the problems revealed on this study, more thoughtful and continous research will be pursued on concentration to illustration expression for higher qualification and also for subdivided approach in view of psychology and circumstance of children which is not completed in this debate. Finally wishing this study would be rather helpful to illustrator, common concern with venture is keenly requested from fairy tale writer, publisher and illustration for further advancement.
