교과서 일러스트레이션의 감성전달표현에 관한 연구

Abstract

In human history visual information is the most important one even every animals are guided visual information. Primitive men's activities are also depend upon visual information after discovering letters primitive community and old human's society needs more words and letters These wor and letters are main communication of human life. They expressed even visual arts with these words and letters but human mind has, visual imagenation naturally. Psychologists said that human brains are picture oriented. Every picture has mainly two kinds of communication; Intelligent content and emotional content. In intelligent contents, we can understand and gain the knowledge from visual words, illustrated logically. In emotional content, we can get the correct "felling" from these visual words that illustrate a image, emotion and sentimental mind through essence of a object. Not by out looking at material object but by understanding the essence of a object visual words (pictures) can appeal directly and emotionally. However Verbal language can not do that; For example sometimes, we can't understand imaginable and symbolic words an abstractive meaning of the poem, but picture's word can easily illustrate and communicate imagenation, meaning and emotion with color, line, shape molding and material. The purpose of this study is to help elementary pupils in the school books, to consider their emotional growth and to aid a study of visualized molding words and illustration of emotion. This study consists of three parts. Part Ⅰ is an introduction. Part Ⅱ is about emotional content of visual communication, and pupils' understanding of art and illustrations in school books. Part Ⅲ is about art elements of illustration to make an illustration. I try to illustrate an imagenation of emotion in my way of acridine spread and acrylic color scratch with an expression of nonplastic arts. This study is based on the theory about pupils' art ability; After 9 years old, pupils' artistic ability of their understanding and expression about art doesn't progress with intelligent developing so art education is very important to 4th, 5th, 6th grade's pupils. We must emphasize emotional content of illustration to these grade's pupils becamse we educate them to get their imaginative power to art, to response to art, and not to explain art.;인류의 역사 가운데 가장 오래된 정보는 시각정보일 것이다. 그러나 인간이 문자를 발명한 뒤부터 인간의 모든 활동은 언어에 의한 가치체계에 의해서 지배되었고, 심지어 시각예술에 대해서까지 말과 글로써 해설하고 표현하기에 이르렀다. 우리들은 언어와 글을 사용하는 생활을 중심으로 살아가고 있는 것 같지만, 실제 우리들의 마음 속에서는 자발적으로 끊임없이 시각적 이미지를 불러내고 있다. 인간의 두뇌는 기본적으로 그림 지향적(picture-oriented)이라고 심리학은 말한다. 모든 그림은 전달하고자 하는 어떤 내용을 담고 있다. 그 내용은 크게 지적내용과 감성적 내용으로 나누어 볼 수 있는데, 지적내용은 시각언어적 전달로부터 지적으로 납득함과 같이 서술될 수 있으며, 논리적 구조를 가지고 일반 지식에 대한 지적이해를 필요로 하는 것이고, 감성적 내용은 대상을 그대로 재현한 피상적이고 물리적인 존재로서가 아닌 대상의 본질을 파악하여, 그 이미지나 감정, 내적 정서를 표현함으로써 어떤 '느낌'을 전달하는 것이다. 시각언어인 그림은 문자언어(Verbal Language)와는 다르게 직접, 감각적으로 어필하기 때문에 내용을 총체적으로 잘 알 수 있게 하는 힘이 있다. 나아가 문자언어로 설명되지 않는 부분을 보다 효과적으로 전달 할 수 있다. 예를 들어 언어로 표현된 '시'의 단어나 문장, 그 자체는 쉽게 이해할 수 있으나, 전체의 시에서 나타내는 의미와 이미지가 상징적이고 추상적인 그 무엇을 담고 있어, 쉽게 전달되지 않을 경우 그림은, 형태나 색채, 재질 등의 조형적 요소를 통해 표현된 전체적인 이미지, 감성으로서 보다 직접적으로 감각에 호소하며 전달을 효과적으로 할 수 있다. 이에 본 논문은 초등학교 어린이 교과서 중 감성과 이미지를 나타낸 '시'의 내용을 그 전달대상인 어린이의 감성과 미적 발달수준을 고려하여 조형적 언어로 시각화함으로써, 일러스트레이션의 감성전달표현에 대해 연구한다. 본 논문의 구성으로는 Ⅱ장에서 시각커뮤니케이션에 있어서 감성적 내용에 대해 알아보고, 어린이 미적 발달단계와 교과서 일러스트레이션에 대하여 고찰하였으며 대상 어린이의 설문조사를 통해 본 연구의 감성전달 일러스트레이션과 기존 교과서 일러스트레이션과의 반응을 비교 조사해 보았다. Ⅲ장에서는 일러스트레이션의 조형요소에 대해 정리해 보며, 일러스트레이션 작업에 있어서 대상의 피상적 재현이 아니라, 이미지와 감성을 주관에 의해 다시 구성하는 방식으로써, 아크릴 물감을 이용해 번지기, 긁어내기 등으로 비구상적인 표현을 하였다. 아동의 미적 발달이론에 의거하여, 9세이후로부터 회화적 능력이 정신발달 정도에 맞는 성장을 하지 못하게 되며, 그 표현이 점차적으로 침체되어 쇠퇴하고, 회화적 표현발달이 계속 성장할 수 있는가에 여부가 결정되는 중요한 시기의 초등학교 4, 5, 6학년 어린이에게 감성적 내용을 강조한 일러스트레이션을 제시하여 그림을 '해석'하는 것이 아니라 '느낌'으로써 조형에 대한 참된 공감이나 상상력을 복돋우는데 보탬이 되고자 하였다.
