모던건축의 이미지를 응용한 직물디자인

Abstract

주거공간은 시간이 흐르면서 과거에는 삶의 터전이고 인간을 자연 환경의 재해로부터 인간을 보호해주는 보호막의 의미였던 것이 사회생활에서 지친 심신의 정신적 안정을 찾고 육체적 휴식을 취하는 가족 공동의 아늑한 울타리로 그 의미가 많이 변하였다. 이렇게 주거공간의 의미가 커지면서 사람들은 그곳을 시각적으로 편안하고 쾌적한 환경으로 가꾸고 더나아가 자신의 개성을 표출할 수 있는 미적 도구의 하나로 인식하게 되었다. 주거공간을 꾸미기 위해서 직물은 많이 사용되고 있고 특히 우븐(Woven)된 직물은 친근하고 고급스러운 느낌을 주기 때문에 그 선호도가 높다. 그리고 현대인들은 빠르게 흐르는 많은 정보와 복잡하고 다양한 환경 속에서 살아가고 있기 때문에 복잡한 것보다는 단순하고 간결하게 정리되어진 기하학 형태에서 편안함과 시각적 아름다움을 느낀다. 그리고 이런 간결한 아름다움은 모던 건축에 잘 나타나고 있다. 이에 실내 공간을 보다 간결하고 세련된 개성적인 분위기를 연출하게 해주는 인테리어 직물에 대해 연구하기 위해서 모던건축에서 보여지는 단순한 기하학 형태를 응용하였다. 먼저 건축에서 기하학 형태의 의미의 변천과정과 데 스틸(De-stijl), 바우하우스 (Bauhaus), 국제주의(International Style)의 각 사조들의 발생과정과 이념들, 그리고 이러한 이념들이 반영된 건축의 구성 형태와 특징들을 고찰하였다. 그 결과 데 스틸의 건축은 입체적 기하학적 형태의 우위성과 교차된 면의 구성이 탁월하였고, 바우하우스는 조형의 순수성을 찾으며 단순하고 기하학적 형태를 추구하고 재료의 진실성을 존중하는 기능적인 구성이 돋보였고, 국제주의 건축의 기하학적 구성의 특징은 볼륨을 둘러싸고 있는 단순한 면들의 형태와 기하학의 질서에 의한 규칙성이라는 것을 고찰할 수 있었다. 작품제작배경으로 건축 공간과 인간의 관계에 대하여 연구하였고 이를 바탕으로 인간의 형상을 건축 사진을 통하여 이미지 맵으로 제작하였다.;A perception of a house as a shelter that provides us protection from natural disasters in the past has changed to a place of refuge away from the mental and physical stress for families to provide a resting place. As the meaning of the dwelling house become more widespread, people started to decorate it for their visual comfort and pleasure and even treated it as a tool to show one's aesthetic personality. Fabric is the one of the most popular ways to decorate the house. Especially woven texture is preferred because it gives them a more familiar and gorgeous feelings. The modems are living in such a complicated world where flow of information is so fast, they feel beauty not from complication but from simplicity and clarity. The modem architecture also tries to represent beauty through simplicity. This research is focused on the fabric that represents the three dimensional geometrical figure shown in modem architecture on two dimensional space by recomposing the figures using magnification, reduction, iteration, and etc to fit efficiently in the three dimensional space of the house. Theoretical background of this research is based on the ideas of geometrical figure in modem architecture and architectural composition characteristics of De-stijl, Bauhaus, and International Style that were the most important and basic time periods for birth and growth of modem architecture. The work is done by using cotton, woolen, fishing string and polyester to provide functionality of interior texture and plain weave is used to provide strength of the texture. Considering monotonous surface of plain weave, variation of string thickness and spacing between strings, bum-out, brocade, and overlap are used to give texture variety. Though these changes, effective expression of geometrical figure was possible. I hope this research helps to represent the effective and elegant interior fabric through geometrical figures of modem architecture and further more helps the development of fabric design.
