中學生들의 民畵에 대한 鑑賞 및 理解에 관한 硏究

Abstract

민화는 우리 나라 미술 역사상 훌륭한 업적으로 남아있으면서도 학계에서 적극적으로 연구되지 않고 있는 분야 중 하나이다. 그러므로 민화는 한국 미술사에서 중대하게 다루어져야 할 부분이지만 연구자가 많지 않아 아직 힘이 민화연구까지 미치지 못한데 그 이유가 있다. 그리고 대부분 작가가 알려지지 않았거나 제작연대가 불분명하여 미술사적 연구가 어려운 실정이다. 민화는 민족의 생활양식과 철학 및 민족정서의 사상을 미의식적 조형감각을 통하여 가시적으로 표출된 것이다. 민화는 색채가 화려하고 강렬하면서도 아름다운 우리 민족의 얼을 상징하고 소박, 담백한 표현과 꾸밈없는 그림으로 우리 인간생활과 밀착되어 오늘날까지 전승되어 오고 있다. 한편 우리의 문화와 밀접한 관계를 맺고 있음에도 불구하고 널리 알려지거나 크게 발전되지 못하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 이렇게 전승되어 온 민화를 중학생들이 얼마나 알고있으며, 어떻게 감상하고 이해하는지를 알아보기 위한 것이다. 방법으로는 먼저 학생들에게 선행 질문을 통해서 그림의 관심여부를 조사한 후 1차, 2차 질문지를 배포하여 그것을 통해 민화에 대한 인지도와 관심도를 조사 분석하고, 참고문헌이나 여러 작품을 제시하여 구체적이고 세부적인 민화의 인지도를 파악했다. 특히, 우리 학교교육에 있어서 민화교육은 미술교육에서뿐만 아니라 전반적인 교과와 연계성이 있기 때문에 새로운 각도에서 새로이 조명되어야 할 것으로 본다. 그리고 중학생들에게 우리의 그림인 민화를 재인식시키고, 민화의 참다운 가치를 찾아 다른 회화 못지 않게 민화를 발전시켜 나가야 할 것으로 생각하며 민화가 서야 할 자리에 바로 세워야 할 것으로 본다. 본 연구는 민화의 높은 예술성과 가치를 평가하여 중학생들이 보다 쉽게 접할 수 있도록 하며, 우리의 그림에 관심을 갖고 아끼고 사랑하는데 힘쓰도록 하여, 지속적으로 계승 발전시키는데 밑거름이 되고자 한다.;Folk painting is one of the fields that haven't been actively studied in the academic world in spite of folk painters' excellent achievement in Korea's fine art history. The reason is that researchers' view hasn't reached to folk painting because of their scant number though it should be put an importance in the history of fine art. And it is difficult to study them chronically since most painter are unknown and painting year is not clear. Folk painting is a visual exposition of Korean race's modes of life, philosophy, emotions and thoughts through aesthetical sense of expression. As a simple, frank representation and a humourous, unartificial drawing symbolizing the beautiful spirit of our race with brilliant and loud colors, folk painting has been transmitted to the present closely connected with Korean living conditions. However despite of the close relationship with our culture, folk paintings haven't been widely known and developed much. The purpose of this study is to see how broadly Korean folk painting is known to middle-school students and how they are appreciating and understanding that field. In researching, at first students' concern for folk painting was examined through preliminary questions to them, degree of their understanding of and concern for folk painting was investigated and analyzed after distributing the 1st and 2nd questionnaires, and their understanding was concretely and minutely grasped by presenting reference books and various folk painting works. In particular, sine folk painting education in school is related to overall curriculum as well as art education, it should be shed light on from totally a new point of view. And the author of this study thinks middle-school students need to recognize folk painting, our unique artistic genre, anew, search for the true value of it, to develop no less than other genres of painting, and ut it in the right place.
