Jean소재를 응용한 의상디자인 연구

Abstract

패션은 일정한 기간 동안 특정 사회를 구성하는 상당수의 구성원들에 의해 형성되는 것으로 보다 구체적·직접적인 감각이다. 또한 개인의 미적 표현을 충족키고 타인과의 일체감을 형성한다. 패션은 무수한 대중이 함께 창조하는 대중문화예술로, 개인의 개성을 표현하고 넓게는 사회 공동체의 시대 정신을 표현한다. 이와 같은 의의에서 패션에서는 실용성 뿐 아니라, 대중들의 욕구에 맞추어 변할 수 있는 새롭고 참신한 창조적 의의가 요구된다. Jean소재는 남성노동자들의 작업복이라는 한정된 계층의 기능적 필요에 의해 발견되었다. 그러나 1940년대는 여성 작업복의 소재로, 1950년대 이후로는 점차 패션 의상의 소재로 사용되기 시작했으며, 1960년대의 청년들에게는 반문화 상징으로 사용되기도 했다. 점차 그 영역을 확대하면서 1970년대 이후로는 본격적으로 패션의상의 소재가 되기 시작했고, 현재는 유행을 주도하는 대중패션소재 중 하나가 되었다. 이에 본 연구는 Jean소재에 모더니즘 시대의 기하학적 추상미술 작품을 모티브(motive)로 도입하여 현대적 이미지의 디자인을 하고, 올뽑기(Drawing)와 올풀기(Fraying) 기법을 이용하여 입체적으로 풍성한 재질감을 표현했다. 이러한 수공예적 기법을 대중패션 소재인 Jean소재에 도입하여 고부가가치의 의상을 개발하고, 그 표현 영역을 더욱 확대하는 데 목적을 두었다. 연구 내용 및 방법으로 인터넷 자료와 문헌 고찰, 작품 사진을 표집하고 분석하여 Jean소재와 올뽑기 및 올풀기 기법에 관한 이론적 배경을 살펴보았고, 조형적인 작품분석을 하였다. 이러한 소재와 기법에 기하학적 추상 미술작품을 모티브로 도입한 Jean소재 의상 8벌을 실물 제작하였다. 그리고 연구결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 이론적 배경을 고찰한 결과 Jean소재는 역사적인 기간 동안 여러 형태로 변형되어 왔으며, 특히 현대디자이너들에 의해 다양한 형태로 활용되고 있다. 1850년대 작업복의 소재라는 단순한 기능성의 개념에서 시작되었으나, 1960년대는 청년문화의 상징으로, 1970년대 이후에는 본격적으로 패션소재가 되기 시작하였다. 그리고 현대패션에서는 잠재적 가능성을 지닌 가장 미래적인 소재로 주목받고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 소재표현기법에 있어서 올 풀기와 올 뽑기 기법을 사용하였으며, 각 작품의 독창적 표현을 위해 패딩(Padding), 스티치(Stitch), 테이핑(Taping), 아플리케(Applique), 파이핑(Piping) 등의 부가적 기법을 사용하였다. 여러 소재 표현기법의 조화는 단순한 형태의 모티브에 입체적인 재질감을 더해 주었고, 모티브의 정확한 선과 단순한 형태 구성을 표현하는데 효과적이었다. 셋째, 기하학적 추상미술을 모티브로 도입하여 패턴의 최소화에 의한 단순한 형태를 구성할 수 있었다. 기하학적 무늬와 단순한 스타일로 구성적인 형태와 자유롭고 경쾌한 현대미를 표현해 냈다. 넷째, 현재 시판되고 있는 다양한 색상의 Jean소재로 추상 미술에 나타난 원색의 대비와 조화적 이미지 표현이 가능하였다. 또한 블루 Jean소재의 다양한 톤으로 다양한 기하학적 면 구성에 깊이 있는 명암 대비와 깔끔하면서 안정된 작품을 구성해 냈다. 기계화·규격화된 현대 사업 사회 속에서 패션 디자인은 확실한 대중문화예술로 자리잡았다. 이러한 입지를 유지하기 위해서는 인간을 위한 미래지향적이며 독창적인 디자인이 필요하고, 현대패션에서 디자인에 큰 영향을 끼치며 중심역할을 하는 것이 바로 새로운 소재의 개발이라 할 수 있다. 다양한 소재가 사용되고 있는 현대패션에서 연령·성별·지위 등 많은 계층에서 사용되고 있는 것은 Jean소재로 의복 이외에도 다양한 형태로 활용되고 있는 대중적인 소재이다. 이렇게 패션소재 중 대중적으로 가장 주목받고 있는 Jean소재를 개발 ·발전시켜 고부가가치의 창조적인 패션소재로 거듭날 수 있도록 해야 한다. Jean소재를 이용한 예술성·창조성이 부가된 고부가가치의 디자인은 여러 디자이너들에 의해 90년대 후반부터 본격적으로 시도되어 왔다. 그리고 그 영향으로 Jean소재는 점차 실용성을 넘어서 독창적 패션소재 중 하나로 인식되고 있다. 여기에 머무를 것이 아니라, 잠재적 가능성을 지닌 Jean소재에 관한 끊임없는 연구와 개발로, 더욱 패션화·다양화된 고부가가치 패션의 자리를 확고히 해야 할 것이다.;Fashion which is formed by considerable member of a community is concrete and direct sense. It satisfies the aesthetic expression of an individual in life and forms the unity with another person concurrently. As the pop culture art which innumerable public create together, the fashion can express each person's individuality and community with the mind of the times to a greater extent. Therefore we must be able to change it into a new and striking thing all the time according to the masses 'desires as well as practicality to its social and physical necessity, so the creative will is required. Jean materials were found by the functional necessity of a limited class as a fatigue uniform. But they began to be the fashion since the 1950's and they are also the symbol of anti-culture to the youth in the 1960's. Like this, enlarging the field gradually, they began to be the fashion in earnest after the 1970's and now they are the center of popular fashion as the mass clothing. At this study, 1 designed Jeans with the modern image by the introduction of a geometrical work of abstract art as the motive in the age of modernism, and I expressed the cubic and abundant quality of materials by the method of drawing and fraying. By means of it, by developing Jeans into the high value added, this study was performed for the purpose of spreading the field of expression. For contents and ways of study, I looked into Jean. materials and the technique of drawing and fraying theoretical background and a photograph of a work. And on the basis of it, I manufactured real eight suit of clothes according to geometrical abstract art. And the result is as follows. The first, Jeans have been changed into the innumerable style for the historical period and they became the one thing of the most noticed materials. Beginning as the concept of function as a fatigue uniform in the 1850's, they were the symbol of the youth culture in the 1960's and began to be the fashion materials in earnest after the 1970's. In the modern clothing Jean materials are most noticed as futuristic materials which have the potential possibility. The second, I used the technique of drawing and fraying for manufacturing of a work, also for the sake of original expression of each work I used the additional technique. Additional techniques are Padding, Stitch, Taping, Applique, Tucking, Piping and so on. By using techniques which go with the geometrical motive of each design of work differently, I expressed the exact line and simple form constitution effectively. The third, I used the geometrical art as the motive. By introducing the simple form of the minimum pattern, the simple silhouette and color to the design, I expressed the liberal and light modern beauty. The fourth, in order to express the contrast of a primary color and harmonious image, I used various color which sale at a market now. Variety of color came into the accented effect on simplicity of the design and form. Also by using various colors of blue Jeans on various geometrical composition of side, I constituted a neat and stable work which shows the deep contrast of the light and shade. As a result, the original design which heads for the future and recovers humanity is needed for the fashion design which takes its place as a sure pop culture in the modern industrial society of mechanization and standardization. Jean materials which stand in the center of the popular fashion also must be reborn as the creative design of the high value added. Since late in the 1990's, the creative of the high value added design have been expressed by several designers. And Jean materials were noticed as one of the creative materials. So Potential possibility by means of ceaseless study and development about Jean materials will make sure as the fashion of the high value added.
