Flower sculpture의 조형미를 응용한 의상디자인 연구

Abstract

인간은 자연을 미에 대한 표현의 대상으로 보고 자연 이미지를 조형화 하는데 노력한다. 그중 식물을 이용한 디자인은 새로운 형태미에 대한 표현 수단으로 이용된다. 식물의 움직임이나 표면 구조에서 나타나는 개성과 특성을 조형함으로서 창작의 모티브로 활용되는 것이다. 이에 본 연구는 자연에 있어서 식물을 대상으로 관찰, 탐구하여 그 조형적 특성을 분석하고 재구성하여 의상에 접목하고자 한다. 본 연구는 flower Sculpture(화예 조각)의 조형미를 분석, 의상디자인에 도입함으로써 자연미와 Florist(화예 디자이너)의 조형세계 및 그 특질이 결합된 창의적 디자인을 제시하고, 나아가 의상디자인의 표현영역을 확대함에 의의가 있다. 이론적 배경으로는 화예와 Flower Sculpture의 개념과 역사를 동, 서양으로 나누어 서술하고, 조형예술로서의 Flower Sculpture작품 사례를 참고 문헌과 사진 자료를 통해 살펴보았다. Flower Sculpture와 의상디자인의 관련성은 화예 작품과 의상 디자인 사진자료의 조사, 분석을 통해 알아보고자 한다. 작품제작의 모티브인 다니엘 오스트(Daniel Ost) 작품세계에 있어서는 그의 작품세계와 작품집을 통한 형태, 소재, 색상 분석으로 단순하면서도 조형적인 요소를 의상과 접목시키고자 한다. 표현소재에 있어서는 화예에서 사용되는 자연소재와 가공소재를 실크, 면, 노방과 접목시켜 사용하였고 동선, 구슬을 장식적 측면에서 활용하였다. 표현기법에 있어서는 아트플라워(Art Flower), 비딩(Beading), 퀼팅(Quilting), 파이핑(Piping), 니팅(Knitting), 염색(Hand Made Dying)등을 사용하였다. 작품제작은 조각적 조형미를 지닌 다니엘 오스트의 작품을 표현 모티브로 해의상 8점을 실물 제작하였다. 이러한 연구를 통하여 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자연을 모티브로 하는 Flower Sculpture작품에 나타난 독특한 재질감을 통해 의상 소재의 표면 장식적 측면에서 다각적 개발의 가능성을 확인 할 수 있었다. 둘째, 다니엘 오스트 Flower Sculpture작품에서 보여지는 섬세하면서 단순한 형태미는 의상 실루엣의 창의적 표현에 적절하였다. 셋째, 식물의 유기적 형태미는 표현기법에 대한 개발의 아이디어를 제공하고 식물의 줄기, 잎, 뿌리의 구조를 부분적으로 확대, 변형, 재구성하여 디자인함으로써 의상에서의 장식적 단위 형태로 활용 할 수 있었다. 넷째, Flower Sculpture는 자연미와 예술미를 동시에 결합시킨 것으로써 조형효과가 뛰어나며, 작품에서 나타난 단위 형태의 중첩과 그로 인한 조형미는 의상의 표면감을 풍부하게 해주었다. 이상과 같이 Flower Sculpture의 조형미를 응용한 의상디자인 연구는 독창적인 실루엣과 소재의 차별화로 다양한 개발 가능성을 제시할 수 있었다. 화예에서 보여지는 조각적 형태미와 색채, 재질에 있어서의 독특한 요소들은 의상디자인의 표현 모티브로서 지속적인 활용 가능성이 있다. 따라서 Flower Sculpture의 다양한 표현방법이나 형체미가 자연과 더불어 즘 더 폭넓게 연구 되기를 기대한다.;From the beginning of the human history, human beings have an instinct to get close to plants. They search for beauty in the nature and try to elevate the quality and aesthetic value of life through plants. As such, the humans chose plants as the subject of expressing beauty of nature, and the formal beauty of them is often used as a creative motive for its high artistic value. Hereby, I try to apply the modeling beauty of plants to clothing through observation and examination on it. The purpose of this study is to express the artistic value of clothing in the sense of nature-friendliness through the re-translation of flower work, which is the byproduct of interaction between human beings and flower art. As a theoretical basis, this study describes the concept and change of flower art in the east and west, and examines relation between flower and modeling art through literature and pictures, and looks at relation between flower art and clothing design through photos of flower work and modern clothing designs. In Daniel Ost's world of work, the study applied modern art characters to clothing through the characteristics of his image, work collection and the analysis of form, material and color. In material of expression, natural materials are applied to silk, cotton, etc. As an expression method, art flower, bead work and quilting, piping, crochet, knitting and hand made dying are used. I created total eight pieces of clothes with the strong trend of modeling and flower art character. The following are the results of this study. First, the expression of material made from a plane surface with the motive of nature helps develop clothing materials, and it can be used as high quality handcraft work. Second, through the application of flower material to clothing and the invisible change of movement of plants and the sublimated aesthetic senses of life, living clothing technique gives a nature-friendly meaning. Third, the infinite expression of art in flower work gives an important help in deciding the silhouette of clothing, and it could be created as a modern clothing design with high aesthetic value. Fourth, the organic expression and various materials of plants provides infinite ideas of expressing techniques, and the expansion, reduction and reforming of plants structure in designing could be used as an element of clothing motives. The study on clothing through the modeling character of flower art as written above suggests the possibility of studying natural materials as the motive of clothing design, Harmony of patterns and colors presented in flower sculpture should continuously studies as the unique and artistic expression of clothing design. I expect these expressing skills presented as the prolongation of vitality will be broadly studied.
