투명소재의 중첩을 이용한 인테리어 텍스타일 소품 디자인

Abstract

소비자들은 생활 수준의 향상과 다양한 정보를 손쉽게 접할 수 있는 환경의 변화로 새롭고 다양한 디자인에 대한 욕구가 점차 커져가고 있다. 특히 산업 사회의 발달로 실내 활동의 영역이 증가된 현대인들에게 실내공간에 대한 관심은 휴식공간으로의 기능적인 필요와 함께 정서적인 안정과 만족감을 얻기 위한 공간으로서의 욕구가 커지고 있다. 섬유는 인류의 역사와 함께 하면서 그 특유의 유연성과 정서적 안정감으로 인하여 인간과 가장 친밀한 소재로 자리 잡아왔다. 차가울 수 있는 건축공간을 채워 휴식공간으로의 기능성을 충족시켜주며 심리미적인 역할도 크다. 기술의 발전으로 인하여 섬유소재는 진화를 거듭해 왔고 기술적인 발전의 요구와 함께 미적인 욕구 충족의 목소리 또한 커져가고 있다. 소비자의 다양한 개성표현의 욕구의 만족을 위해 재질감이 디자인의 중요한 요소로 부각되는 디자인 흐름을 반영하여 투명성을 특징으로 하는 인테리어 텍스타일 소재의 디자인을 개발하고자 한다. 디자인은 그 시대적 정신에 바탕을 둔 예술로부터 영향을 받았으며 디자인과 예술은 항상 서로의 분야에 영향을 미쳐왔다. 그러므로 투명성을 특징으로 하는 인테리어 텍스타일 디자인의 제품 개발을 위하여 첫째, 섬유예술의 발전과 그에 따른 점유소재의 사용에 대해 이론적인 연구를 살펴보았으며 이것을 토 대로 하여 소재의 신경향과 인테리어 소품디자인을 위한 인테리어의 최근경향을 분석하였다. 둘째, 소재의 특성을 중심으로 투명성과 중첩에 의한 색채표현을 연구하여 디자인하였다. 이론적 연구를 바탕으로 노방과 폴리우레탄 필름이라는 상반된 느낌의 두 가지 소재를 선택, 전통적인 분위기의 공간과 미래적인 분위기의 공간에 어울리는 연출이 가능하게 구성하여 작품제작을 하였다. 이론적 연구를 통하여 첫째, 섬유소재의 3D 경향이라는 커다란 흐름을 찾을 수 있었다. 이것은 평면에서 출발하여 공간으로 확장된 섬유예술의 흐름과도 맥을 같이하며 다양한 표면처리를 통해 3차원적인 효과를 낸 최근의 소재들의 분석에 의한 결과이기도 하다. 두 번째, 투명 소재의 중첩에 대한 연구로 투명 소재의 현대적인 디자인 요소로서의 가능성을 보았으며 중첩에 의한 색채혼합의 연구로 공간감이 느껴지는 텍스타일 디자인을 위한 적절한 방법임을 알 수 있었다. 작품제작에 들어가서 노방을 사용한 작품을 통하여 중첩에 의한 색채혼합의 새로운 방법적 가능성을 보았고 폴리우레탄 필름을 사용하여 소재특성을 살린 에어 쿠션이라는 새로운 소품의 상품 개발 가능성을 시사하였다. 디자인의 정체성은 우리 자신의 정체성이며 우리가 살아온 문화의 정체성을 의미한다. 수준 높은 디자인은 수준 높은 문화의 바탕에서 우러나오는 것이다. 우리는 근대이후 산업발전이라는 목적아래 서구의 문화를 무조건적으로 받아들임으로서 근대사회 이전의 수준 높은 문화와의 단절을 초래하였다. 서구의 디자인을 따라가는 것만으로는 그것과 같은 수준의 디자인을 창조해낼 수 없는 것이다. 서구의 모방이 아니라 우리 안에 내재되어 있는 우리의 문화를 발견하고 그것을 바탕으로 한 디자인의 개발은 21세기 한국의 디자이너들의 몫이다.;The rise of living standard, as well as the changes that have made information of all kinds broadly and readily available, have created constantly growing demand for new and diverse designs. In particular such demand with respect to interior design has been transformed into great interests for creating interior space that can provide not only functional but also emotionally relaxing and satisfying place for rest for modem people, who spend much of their time indoors as result of social development. Textile, because of its flexibility and ability to induce sense of security, has been the most familiar material to man throughout history. Being applied in architectural environment, potentially austere, it enhances the functionality of the space as a place of relaxation and at the same time yields aesthetic satisfaction. Textile material has evolved over and over again with technological progress, and desire for the aesthetic satisfaction and technological innovations has been increasing. As an attempt to meet such various demands by textile consumers, this study develops a textile design for interior applications by using materials with transparent characteristics. Design is affected by art, which is based on the spirit of its time, and design and art have always influenced each other. For the design and development of textile for interior design with the application of transparent materials, therefore, first of all the progress of textile art and the consequent effects on the use of textile materials were investigated. Based on the investigation, recent trends in interior design in terms of material selection and small piece designs were analyzed. Secondly, centered around material characteristics, color expression through the utilization of transparency and multi-layering was studied and designed. With the theoretical study as background, organza and polyurethane, materials of contrasting effects, were selected and employed to fabricate works that would enable the production of both traditional and futuristic atmospheres. Through the theoretical investigation, firstly, an overwhelming trend toward three-dimensional design for current textile materials was discovered. This is in correlation with the trend in textile art, whose original concept had been two-dimensional but has expanded to become three-dimensional. The same observation was made through the analysis of recently developed materials of three-dimensional looks, created by various surface treatments. Secondly, it was discovered through the study on multi-layering of transparent materials that such technique was appropriate for expressing textile designs with three-dimensional effect. In the fabrication of works, possibility for a new method of mixing colors by multi-layering materials was shown. With the employment of polyurethane and its unique characteristics, potential for development of a new type of interior piece, named Air-Cushion, was also suggested. The identity of design translates into the identity of ourselves and of our culture. A sophisticated design is rooted in a sophisticated culture as its background. During modern times, in the process of industrialization, the implicit accommodation of the Western culture has brought on the breakaway of our society from the sophisticated culture of the past. Following the Western design only cannot create another one with an equal level of sophistication. It is the task left for Korean designers of the twenty-first century to develop designs based not on an imitation of the West but on our own culture indwelling in ourselves.
