한국미의 속성 "스름"에 관한 시각 표현 연구

Abstract

본 논문의 목적은 한국의 것을 새롭게 조명하려는 움직임들과 서구에 대한 무의식적 추종이 섞여 있는 가운데 한국만의 유일한 그 '어떤 것'을 나름대로 찾아 나아가 시각적으로 표현 연구해 보는 것이다. 내 안의 보편적 감성들을 바탕으로 점차 넓혀 나가 한국인 안에 있어왔던 분명하지 않은 감성을 꺼내어 명료하게 밝혀 나가는 과정의 일환이라고도 할 수 있으며, 단지 그 감성이 에매 모호성이 아닌 뿌리가 있는 민족의 집단적 의식에서 나와짐을 연구 과정을 통해 다시 확인해 나가는 과정이라고도 할 수 있다. 미적 가치들이 어느 한 방향으로 몰아져 버리는 이 속에서 한국인만의 그 '어떤 것' 이 단지 하나가 아닐 수도 있으며 여러 가능성을 전제해 두고 열린 마음으로 한국의 것을 지켜보아야 한다. 기존의 한국 미적 가치는 국한된 개념 속에 오랫동안 정체되어 왔다는 생각 하에 나름대로 해석하여 새로운 미적인 시각적 가치를 창출하고자 한다. 또한 한국인의 미의식을 설명할 때에도 한국인 정서에 맞는 어감으로 어휘를 선택하여 나타내야 된다는 사고가 당연하다고 본다. 그러기 위해 먼저 언어적 개념이 정립되어야 하며 언어적 ·사고를 새로운 감각으로 바라보고 해석을 내려야 한다. 한국인의 일상 정서 가운데 느낄 수 있는 질감, 색상, 톤은 민족의 정서 밑바닥에 특유의 감각이 관통하고 있는데 이를 언어적 감성으로 나타낸 것이 바로 '스름' 이라는 명사형 어미이다. 한국미의 시각적 속성이라 할 수 있으며, 한국인의 시각에 맞는 맛이기도 하고, 빛의 감각이 이루어내는 이미지 톤이며. 심안으로 바라보는 시각이라고 할 수 있다. 또 어느 한 쪽에 치우치지도 않고 있는 듯 없는 듯 스며들어져 있는 감각, 모가 나지 않은 그렇다고 정화한 비례를 가지지 않아도 형태를 지니는 속성. 겹쳐짐에서 나오는 톤의 깊이, 빛과 그늘이 만들어 내는 빛깔이며 시간이 가라앉은 빛깔이기도 하여 조형적 속성을 모두 함축해낼 수 있는 표현이다 본 논문은 한국 미적 가치 차이를 나름대로 해석해 본다는 데에 의의를 가지며 새로운 의미 확장 목적으로의 한국미의 속성인 "스름" 의 시각적 틀로 새로운 시각적 표현의 장을 확장해 보는 것에 초점을 둔다. 나와 그림의 관계 속에서 "스름" 이라는 중간 매개로 조율하여 한국의 것에 맞게 표현되어짐을 목표로 연구하고, 한국의 감각 깊이를 체험하여 표현되어질 수 있게 작품 제작을 한다. 이를 위해선 흙이라는 소재를 실험해보며 흙을 통해 한국의 맛이 나오게 작품 표현을 한다.;The purpose of this paper is to look for 'something unique' for the only Korea while the movements and the term of a concept about Korea is boisterous in order to newly illuminate Korean thing. It is a part of a process to take out the feelings unclear that has been in Koreans, and it is study to be able to prove that it is our ethnic consciousness with the root which isn't only ambiguous. In these days when aesthetic values go to one way, we should watch this with a open mind that there is a lot of possibility in this and something unique for the only Korean cannot be only one. The existing Korean aesthetic value interprets it in own way under the thought that has been stagnated in confined concept for a long time and is going to create a new aesthetic value. When they explain a sense of beauty to fit Korean, they think it is natural to select a vocabulary with a feeling for words to fit Koreans emotion. We must know emotion in a thing first to do and we should return to the root and check the emotion, a temper, a tendency in ourselves. And also we should come close to Korean emotion by a new sense and should interpret it. A particular sense going through the sense of thing, a color, a tone we can feel among Korean daily emotion is 'SeuReum' 'SeuReum ' is the nature of Korean beauty , the image tone that a sense of light can make and the vision with inward eyes and has a character of time that is going through extinction to a generation like nature. It isn't leaning against just the one way , and it is sensibility soaked without existence , and it has a character that has no angle and also no correct proportion but its own shape , and it is the depth of tone, the color made by light and the shade and the color with time sank, and it has a character not stop but condition. This paper has an meaning in order to try to interpret in own way a Korean aesthetic value with difference and recreates an image of Seoul again by the vision of the "SeuReum" which is Korean aesthetic nature to expand a new meaning. I tune up the relation between "Me" and "Seoul" , "Korean" and "Korea" with the middle mediation called "SeuReum" and study it to express it to fit Korean thing and manufacture works to be expressed by experiencing the depth of the Korean sense. We inspect soil for that and present the image of Seoul through soil to get Korean taste out of it.
