호료(糊料)의 텍스츄어 표현에 의한 스카프 디자인

Abstract

21세기는 ‘패션과 디자인’이 부각되는 감성문화의 시대이다. 패션 감각의 부상으로 옷차림에 변화를 주고, 패션 이미지를 조정하는 중요한 요소인 스카프는 창의적이면서 독자적인 디자인 영역으로 발달하고 있는 의복의 액세서리 개념에서 코디네이트의 주역으로 급부상하고 있다. 자신의 개성을 중요시하는 현대사회에서 염색공예의 수공예적 가치가 새롭게 자리 매김 해야 한다고 인식하고 있는 본 연구자는 호료의 여러 가지 종류 가운데 천연 호료인 밀가루를 사용하여 나타나는 독특한 텍스츄어 표현으로 다양한 스카프 디자인을 제작하고자 한다. 먼저 호료는 섬유와 염색 사이의 중간매체로서 염착성과 견뢰도를 높이는데 중요한 역할을 할 뿐만 아니라 염색 작품 제작에 있어서도 여러 가지 표현기법 사용을 가능케 해 줌으로서 호료를 사용한 기법은 염색에서 다양하게 이용 되고 있다. 그 중에서 본 연구자가 표현하고자 하는 텍스츄어 표현은 호료만이 가지고 있는 방염적 특성을 이용하여 분무염을 하여 거기에서 나타나는 독특한 텍스츄어 효과인데 본 연구의 다양한 스카프디자인에서 기본적인 디자인의 모티브로 응용하여 제작하고자 한다. 이론적 내용으로는, 첫째, 호료의 개념과 종류 및 특성에 관해 고찰한다. 둘째, 제작에 앞서 균염성이 좋고, 색의 명도가 뛰어난 밀가루를 표현기법의 중요한 재료로 사용하여 다양한 텍스츄어 표현을 위한 실험을 통해 그 차이점을 살펴본다. 방법적 측면으로, 여러 가지 소재에 따라 밀가루의 균열성을 도와주는 촉매제 역할로서의 명반과 함께 그 농도변차에 따른 그 차이점을 비교, 분석 한다. 셋째, 텍스츄어는 본 연구자의 스카프디자인 제작에서의 기본적인 디자인 모티브로 응용되므로, 호료의 텍스츄어 표현에 의한 스카프 디자인 제작에 앞서 텍스츄어의 개념 및 종류와 텍스츄어의 조형적 표현에 관해 살펴본다. 넷째 스카프와 패션과의 관계를 짚어보고, 스카프의 조형적 특징을 알아본다. 마지막으로, 이와 같은 연구를 통해서 호료를 이용한 텍스츄어 표현의 다양한 스카프 디자인을 제작함으로써 본 연구자는 대량생산을 위한 제품의 제작보다는 소량생산과 전문적인 장인정신으로 고품질의 디자인을 연구, 제시함으로써, 전통 염색공예의 정체성을 높이고 실용성과 작품성을 모두 갖춘 고부가가치 스카프디자인 상품의 개발 가능성을 제시하고자 하였다.;The 21st century is an age of culture and sensitivity when fashion and design are attracting attention. In this age of fashion, a scarf gives an accent and change to costumes and has been developed as a creative and unique sphere of design, playing an important role of coordinating fashion images. Recently, scarves have risen quickly to the surface as a leading and coordinating factor in clothing accessories. The author has the notion that the values of dyeing industrial arts should be newly acknowledged as a manual art in this modern society where individualities are respected. This study concerns the production of varied scarf designs via texture expressions using the resistibility of a cohesive paste, one of the oldest dyeing industrial art techniques. First of all, cohesive pastes are a medium between fibers and dyeing materials and enhance their fixity and solidity. So, composite and varied pastes are employed in diverse techniques to produce dyeing works. The texture expression techniques that the author wants to use have unique resistant characteristics of cohesive pastes and can be used and applied in the production of diverse scarf designs. Theoretical understandings of this study include the following: Firstly, the concepts, kinds, conditions, and characteristics of cohesive pastes were considered. Texture changes in cohesive pastes were closely observed, when the densities in the alum of different materials were changed, with the purpose of expressing various qualitative senses of cohesive pastes. Secondly, the concepts and formative elements were employed as an important element in the author's production of scarf designs. Extensive understanding and experiences of texture expressions via cohesive pastes were necessary for the production of new scarf designs, and so examples of fiber art works using textures needed be reviewed in more detail. Thirdly, patchwork techniques accompanied by the modern formative beauty are a field of fiber arts where values can be highly added and can help produce high priced scarf designs differentiated from scarves on the market. It is in concert with the author's intention of producing the scarf designs that satisfy both the art and commercial properties of scarves at the same time. Such scarves could be manufactured when scarf designs equipped with the composition and formative characteristics of patchworks were combined with textures of cohesive pastes. Lastly, the author tried to suggest scarf designs accompanied by practicability and art properties that add high values and enhance the identity of dyeing industrial arts that are fading way.
