자연의 재구성을 통한 심상표현

Abstract

예술이 과학보다 재미가 있는 것은 적어도 예술에만은 '어눌함'의 자유가 허용되어 있기 때문이다. 어떤 작품이 어떤 오해도 받지 않는다면 그 작품의 작가는 외로운 예술가라는 생각이 든다. 예술은 오해의 소산이기에 매우 인간적인 것이다. 어떠한 어눌함도 없는 사실적 표현의 작품은 보는 사람으로 하여금 마음이 들어설 공간조차 주지 않는다. 그래서 본인은 '오해'를 '어눌함'의 인간성이란 뜻을 포함시켜 해석한다. 본인은 자연이라는 소재를 인간성에 바탕을 두고 해석하여, 존재하는 것들에 대한 세계의 공유가 실재하는 현실을 떠나 인간의 마음에 자리잡고 있는 꿈과 희망으로 사물들이 표현되도록 하는 것을 본 연구의 목적으로 삼았다. 자연은 인간의 삶의 '터'이기에 예술활동은 자연속에서 영향을 받고 있으며 자연의 생명감을 통해 예술가로서나 보편적인 인간으로서 자신의 삶에 새로운 힘을 공급할 수 있는 기회를 끊임없이 제공받는다. 이러한 자연에 대한 해석은 사람마다 다를 수 있다. 그러나 동양사상에서는 천지만물의 현상이나 인간까지도 자연안에 포함된다. 이렇게 자연에 근원하고 부합하면서 자연으로부터 예술의 영감들을 추상해내고 있다. 따라서 동양회화에서는 서양의 회화에서와 같이 자연의 사실적인 외형을 그려내는 방식과는 달리 자연속에 자신을 투영시킨 주관적 심상세계를 이미 오래전부터 표현하고자 하였다. 본인은 인간의 시각을 통해 체험된 사물들에 대한 감동과 인상을 새로운 공간의 해석으로 재구성하여 새로운 공간 표현의 스타일을 시도하였다. 이러한 새로운 스타일의 시도를 위해 동양회화에 나타난 자연관을 이론적 배경으로 연구하였다. 그리고 표현대상들은 공간의 새로운 스타일과 대상의 심상들이 하나의 양식성으로 표현되어야 하므로 도구를 선택하고 표현하는 방법이 매우 중요하였다. 그래서 동양화의 지, 필, 묵을 기본으로 하여 본인이 표현하고자 하는 바를 효과적으로 표출해 내고자 했다. 나아가 일러스트레이션에서 전통적인 동양화가 사용하는 먹이 지니는 의미를 설명하고, 선이 지니는 조형적인 기능이 일러스트레이션의 개념과 감각에 어떤 영향을 미치게 되는지를 고찰해 보았다. 예로서는, 김기창과 장욱진의 작품을 분석해 보므로서 본인이 추구하는 표현의 당위성과 의지를 이해하려고 하였다. 이와 같이 본인이 표현하고자 하는 바를 작품을 통하여 살펴보았으며, 본 작업을 통하여 기존의 표현형식에 얽매이던 작업에 대한 새로운 진전의 기회가 되었다. 앞으로 독창적이면서 심상을 표출시킬 수 있는 미적 공간의 스타일을 지향하고자 한다.;Art is more flexible than science in its interpretation, for it has ample room for distortion and reconstruction. People are able to perceive and criticize a piece of artwork in so many different ways. The message let out by the artist, through their artwork, is very often misunderstood, wrongly interpreted or even recreated. However, this kind of misinterpretation is crucial for artists because it allows them to observe their work in a new light. If such misapprehensions, misconceptions and misinterpretations did not exist, the artist would be a very lonely person without any provoked developments to be adjusted. The objective of this study is to discover a point where everyone can empathize and receive the same sense of emotion through a particular interpretation of nature. Expressing all that is familiar to the mass through hope and illusion. Nature is our root and it surrounds us whether we are creating an artwork or simple enduring life. Therefore it is our main and the only source of influence which cannot be doubted in any aspect of our lives. In art, we are influenced by natures splendour and mystery as well as by its wonderful shapes and colours. In life, nature teaches us how to live and survive. Anyone can interpret nature as has been stated. However, the Asian Conception is differs form this. It believes that the human being and the universe are one a complete whole. It transcends conforming to nature as well as its fundaments. Consequently, in oriental painting, the subjective expression is reflected into nature rather simply reproducing its outer shape and form. This study concentrates on expressing ones emotional, psychological and mental understanding of nature in order to discover new boundaries and new possibilities in art. For the theoretical aspect of this research, the fundamental Asian Concept behind oriental paintings, have been examined in order to find a means to reconstruct a subjective expression. The technique associated with India Ink (Chinese Ink) has been examined to be incorporated as a form of expression in this study. In addition to this, different aspects of linear expressions have been studied. The works of Ki-Chang Kim and Wook-Jin Chang co-relates to this linear expression in India Ink. Their works have been used as a guiding line for this particular technique. This study has provided ample grounds for experimentation in reconstructing nature through a subjective perspective and expression. It has endeavoured to move away from existing methods as well as open new boundaries in expressing ones concepts.
