조선시대 자수베갯모 문양을 응용한 의상디자인연구

Abstract

In today’s age of globalization, the regionalism which each country excavates and develops the native cultural tradition is increasing. As our national native cultural elements is seen and analyzed newly, it pursues the development and discrimination of the design which has a utility and a creativity. Specially patterns is the formative arts which becomes accomplished with the symbol which reflects the mental ceremony of the human and creative activity, so the design development which it applies traditional patterns is the work which is meaning. Not only, the application of traditional patterns have a value which is going to newly trace in modern sense and develop with the new material and the various technique. So in this study it reflected the formative beauty of Korean traditional patterns to he decorate element of the clothing. The patterns of a pillow end in the age of Chosun in the traditional life article which puts in the life aesthetics of our ethnic group, it was analyzed, re-composed modernly the formative beauty and applied the modern clothing design. In this study, the specific image embossed by applying the formative beauty of traditional patterns to Korean paper, and laser cutting technique it leads to emboss delicating and express traditional beauty. The research method is to analyze traditional beauty of the patterns of a pillow end by records and to study laser cutting technique. the procedure was following. First, it observed the concept and a historical type and a feature of the pillow and studied about the general feature of the pillow under classifying by subject matter, use and form. Second, it observed the kind of the embroidered patterns of a pillow end in the age of Chosun and symbolic meaning, and analyzed the formative aspect of patterns through the the clothing design instance which it applies traditional patterns. Third, it defined the function and use of the laser cutting technique to express the embroidered patterns of a pillow end in the age of Chosun and investigated the example that the clothing design is applied the laser cutting technique. Like this theoretical background, it were made total 8 works which were designed the embroidered patterns of a pillow end in the age of Chosun by the laser cutting technique and get the following conclusion. First, the traditional patterns which analyzes the formative element of whole or part form of the embroidered patterns of a pillow end in the age of Chosun was suitable that the patterns apply the clothing by simplication and diagram. Second, the laser cutting technique which is used with the expressive technique present the various possibility which is able to express delicate and orthodoxy traditional patterns, is easily to do a repetition action. Third, as it was applied the Korean paper the embroidered patterns of a pillow end in the age of Chosun has symbolic meaning which reflects the national spirit. Through the Originative design, it was able to confirm the infinite creation possibility of the modern sensible patterns design, and to express the intrinsic beauty value. The fourth, the expressive method which applies laser cutting, clothes crumples is able to give the change in the monotonous clothing surface and the surface effect of three-dimensional and decorate quality of material feeling it was. In conclusion, it is significant that the traditional patterns which has symbolic meaning includes the mental aspect of our nation and express our native aesthetic sense, creative image combine with modern design elements and express new visual design. Therefore there are various approaches and new trials, about traditional patterns, and it has to develop and advance the new subject matter and the creative expressive technique.;세계화 시대를 살아가고 있는 오늘날 각 나라의 고유한 문화적 전통을 발굴, 발전시키려는 지역주의적 현상이 증대되고 있다. 이에 우리 민족 고유의 문화적 요소를 현대적 시각으로 새로이 바라보고 재해석함으로써 실용적이고 독창성을 갖는 디자인의 개발과 차별화를 추구하고 있다. 특히 문양은 인간의 정신의식을 반영한 상징성과 창조적인 활동으로 이루어진 조형예술의 한 분야로서 전통문양을 활용한 디자인 개발은 매우 의미 있는 작업이다. 뿐만 아니라 전통문양의 활용은 차별화된 새로운 소재와 다양한 기법을 통해 시대적 흐름에 따른 현대적 감각에 새롭게 조명하고 발전시켜나갈 가치가 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 한국 전통문양의 조형적 아름다움을 의상의 장식적 요소에 반영하였다. 우리 민족의 생활 미학을 담은 전통생활용품 중 조선시대 베갯모 문양을 분석하고 전통문양의 미적 조형성을 현대적으로 재구성하여 단순한 현대 의상디자인에 응용하였다. 본 연구는 전통문양의 조형미를 한지에 응용함으로써 고유의 이미지를 부각시키고, 레이저 컷팅 기법을 통해 섬세함을 부각시켜 독특한 전통적 멋을 표출시킴에 목적이 있다. 연구방법으로는 문헌을 통해 전통적인 베갯모의 문양을 중심으로 전통적인 미학을 새롭게 분석하고, 표현기법으로 활용된 레이저 컷팅 기법에 대하여 연구하였으며 그 절차는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 베개의 개념과 역사 종류와 특징을 살펴보고 소재별 용도별 형태별로 분류하여 베개의 일반적인 특징에 대해 알아보았다. 둘째, 조선시대 자수베갯모 문양의 종류와 상징적 의미를 살펴보고, 전통문양을 응용한 의상디자인 사례를 들어 문양의 조형성을 분석하였다. 셋째, 조선시대 자수베갯모의 문양을 표현하기 위해 레이저 컷팅기법의 기능과 용도를 정의하고, 레이저 컷팅기법을 살펴보았으며, 레이저 컷팅 기법을 활용한 다양한 의상디자인 사례를 조사 분석하였다. 이러한 이론적 배경을 바탕으로 조선시대 자수베갯모에 나타난 문양을 토대로 레이저 컷팅기법을 응용한 작품 총 8벌을 제작하였으며 이를 통해 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 조선시대 자수베갯모 문양의 전체적인 형태나 일부 부분적인 다양한 형태의 조형적 요소를 분석한 전통문양은 단순화, 도식화되어 다양한 방식으로 의상에 응용하기에 적합하였다. 둘째, 문양의 주된 표현기법으로 사용된 레이저 컷팅기법은 섬세하고 정교한 전통문양을 표현할 수 있는 다양한 가능성을 제시할 수 있었고 단위형태의 반복 작용을 용이하게 해주었다. 셋째, 민족의 정신의식을 반영한 상징적인 의미를 가진 조산시대 베갯모 문양을 한지에 응용함으로써 고유의 미를 더욱 부각시킬 수 있었다. 독창적인 디자인을 통해 현대적인 감각의 문양 디자인의 무한한 창출 가능성을 확인할 수 있었으며, 그 속에 내제된 미적가치를 표현할 수 있었다. 넷째, 레이저 컷팅, 구김 등을 활용한 표현방법은 단조로운 의상 표면에 변화를 줄 수 있어 입체적이고 장식적인 재질감의 표면효과를 줄 수 있었다. 이러한 결론을 바탕으로 전통문양을 우리 민족의 정신세계를 반영한 상징적인 의미로써 우리나라의 고유한 미의식과 상징성을 살린 독창적인 이미지를 표현하고 현대적인 디자인 요소와 결합하여 전통이미지를 새로운 시각으로 표현하는데 의의가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그러므로 전통문양에 대한 다양한 접근과 새로운 시도가 지속적으로 이루어져 새로운 소재의 개발과 창의적인 표현의 확대를 위해 개발하고 발전시켜야 한다.
