현행 교육대학원 음악교육전공 교과과정에 대한 연구

Abstract

현대사회가 고도로 전문화·정보화됨에 따라 교육의 여러 분야에서 전문성을 높이기 위한 고등교육의 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 이러한 고등교육의 육성에 있어서 전문대학원의 일종으로서의 교육대학원은 실로 중요한 역할을 담당하고 있다 하겠다. 본 연구는 서울시내 소계 음악교육전공을 설치한 10개의 교육대학원을 중심으로 설립의 기준이 되는 목적을 조사·비교하였으며, 교육대학원의 기능과 역사적인 발달과정을 알아보고 교육대학원 및 음악과 교과과정에 있어서 바람직한 운영방안을 모색해 보았다. 이러한 조사를 토대로 각 학교별 학사운영 실태를 파악하고 설정교과목을 분석하여 교과과정 운영상 근본적인 문계점과 개선책을 연구하는데 목적이 있다. 이와 같이 교과과정을 연구한 결과 전공과목은 음악학 영역이 58.8%, 음악교육학 영역이 31.4%, Research 영역이 2.7%로 나타났으며 교과과정 운영상 근본적인 문제점과 개선방안을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교육대학원의 목적 및 성격규정에 대한 별도의 법적 근거가 마련되어 있지 않아 대학원 교육의 비효율성을 초래하므로 이에 대한 법적 근거마련이 시급하다. 둘째, 학사운영을 비롯한 학칙규정이 강계적·획일적이므로 학생들의 여건과 교육적 욕구를 고려한 융통성 있는 운영이 필요하다. 셋째, 학위취득에 필요한 외국어 및 종합 시험의 객관적·합리적 기준이 마련되지 못하고 있으므로 이에 대한 검토가 요구된다. 넷째, 전공·교직과목 개설수가 부족하여 질적·양적인 면에서 미흡하므로 이에 대한 보완이 필요하다. 다섯째, 전공과목이 학부과정의 답습에 지나지 않는 교과목 편성을 나타내므로 실제 학교현장에서 필요한 과목으로 대치시켜 교육대학원의 특성을 살리도록 한다. 여섯째, 교과과정 구성상 국악관련 과목이 절대 부족한 것으로 나타나므로 그 비중을 높이도록 하며, 특히 실제 지도에 유용한 과목을 위주로 한 구성이 이루어지도록 한다. 이러한 문제점의 근본원인은 교육대학원이 학부나 일반대학원의 부속 기관의 차원에서 그 특수성과 독립성을 보장받지 못하고 있다는 점에서 찾아볼 수 있겠다. 그러므로 교육대학원의 정체성 회복과 위상 정립을 위해서는 이러한 근본적인 문제점의 검토가 우선적으로 시행되어져야 할 것이다. 본 연구는 서울시내 소계 음악교육전공을 설치한 10개 교육대학원에 한하여 실시되었다. 그러나 후속 연구에서는 음악교육전공을 설치한 우리나라 교육대학원 전체를 대상으로 보다 포괄적이고 다각적인 차원에서의 연구가 이루어지기를 기대한다.;As the modern society gets highly specialized and informed, the necessity of higher education in the various fields of education is increasing. In this upbringing of higher education, a Graduate School of Education as a special school has an important role. This study is designed to examine the purpose of establishment of 10 graduate schools of music education in Seoul and the function and historical development of Graduate School of Education, and try to find a solution to a desirable management in music curriculum and the education in Graduate School. On the basis of these researches, we have a purpose to take the problems and suggest for improvement on the management of curriculum by grasping the present situation of each school's management and analyzing the course of study and their purpose. As a result, major courses appear that music theory department is 58.8%, music education department is 31.4%, Research department is 2.7%, and basic problems and suggestions for improvement on management of curriculum are as follows: First, there is no legal basis on the purpose and definition of graduate school. of education, so the legal basis should be made urgently. Second, school management and regulations are compulsive, and we need more elastic management which considers students given condition and their educational desire. Third, we have no resonable standard on the tests of foreign languages and qualifing exam which are necessary to acquire a degree, so there should be investigations on it. Fourth, we lack the major courses and related offerings, so we need some supplements both in quality and quantity. Fifth, major courses are no better than the review of undergraduate schools, so graduate schools of education should have their own specialty by substituting those courses with the programs which are needed in real school situations. Sixth, we are short of traditional Korean music courses and they should be focused on pedagogical instructions. The fundamental causes of the problems written above are that the peculiarity and independence of a graduate school are not guaranteed, and mistaken for the supplementary institute of most private colleges. Therefore, the examination on fundamental problems should be taken for the restoration of the identity of graduate schools of education. This study was limited to 10 graduate schools of education in Seoul which have music education major. However, we hope more comprehensive and various studies will be done with the whole graduate school of education in the future studies.
