The problem with rating data is that in case of using different rating scale to evaluate a product, we cannot compare these data directly without standardized scale. In this regard, Thurstonian modeling has been being reconsidered. The model for triangular method introduced by Ennis and Mullen (1986) is based on Thurstonian idea, In this paper we extend the previous research and deal with the triangular method under the assumption that stimuli can be modeled as if they were drawn from normal distribution. We especially focus the effect of unequal variances and correlated variables on the probability of correct response using Monte-Carlo simulation and from the results we observed the dependence of the probability of correct response on dimensionality, variances and correlation structure of the stimulus sets.;등급자료를 사용해서 평가할 때 문제점은 어떤 척도를 사용하는가에 있다.
