중학교 교과서의 성교육지도 내용 분석

Abstract

성교육은 가정과 학교와 사회에서 평생교육으로 이어져야 한다. 학교에서 지도하여야 할 내용은 문교 당국에 의해 성교육 지침서가 작성되어 교과시간에 지도하도록 되어 있다. 그러나 교과 담당 교사들이 아직도 성교육에 대해 소극적이기 때문에 교과서에 명시된 내용 이상으로 지도하기를 주저하므로 교과서의 성교육 내용이 학생들의 대부분의 성지식이 된다. 그러므로 학생들을 이해하기 위하여 학생들의 성에 관한 의식 구조를 조사하였고, 과학(생물)교과서를 중심으로 체육, 가정 교과서의 생리적인 성교육 내용을 조사 분석하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 학생들의 성에 관한 의식 조사 결과를 보면, 자신들의 신체 변화에 대하여 관심이 많고, 부족한 성지식은 생물, 체육, 가정교과 시간에 배우기를 원하고 있으나 현재로는 주로 친구나 잡지에서 얻고 있다. 2. 과학(생물) 1에서는 동식물의 수정, 번식, 어류나 양서류의 생식기관을 통하여 생식의 개념을 다루고 있고, 과학(생물) 3에서는 1에서 보다 더욱 자세히 다루고 있으나 학생들 자신의 문제와 직접 연관 짓기는 어렵다. 3. 체육과 가정 교과서 1에서는 사춘기의 신체 변화와 남녀 차이에 대하여 지도하도록 되어 있으나 이론적 설명이 부족하다. 성교육이 교과서에 의해서만 이루어지는 것은 아니나 청소년 자신들을 이해할 수 있는 성교육 내용이 교과서에 많이 포함된다면 청소년들은 자연스럽게 성의 차이를 과학적인 사실로 받아들여 성에 관한 호기심도 적어질 것이며 성문제도 적어지리라 생각된다.;Sex education is required as a lifelong education at home, school and in society. The authorities of Ministry of Education published guide books on sex education. The consciousness of students and contents of physiological sex education were analyzed in the Korean text books of biology, gymnastics and home economics. 1. Students have much concern in their changes of body and many students want to learn about sex knowledge in classes. 2. The concept of reproduction in plant and animal is given in Biology I. But there is no related part in Biology Ⅱ. In Science Ⅲ, reproduction is explained with more detail but it is difficult for students themselves to understand it. 3. Home economics and gymnastics are made to teach the changes of juveniles in pubescent. It is certain that sex education can not be accomplished only by school textbooks. However, if school textbooks have enough contents that will satisfy the need of students for knowledge of sex, student's better understanding of human nature can be expected.
