버섯의 조형적 이미지를 형상화한 의상 디자인 연구

Abstract

Nature is a residential lot, and cultural environment. It stimulates the sense of sight continuously. Human being existed in the dispensation of nature being the moulding activity simultaneously with its appearance in the earth. Invention and creation are developed by such an activity. It the privilege of only the human being to act creatively. The adoration for the nature enables human being to accomplish the wants to an aesthetic representation. Endless desire to the change and development is the motive power of civilization. Eventually the pursuit of the beauty is one form to represent the inner emotion, although the object and the method are different from each other. The realm of representation is extended by revealing or reconstruction the image of nature. It can be confirmed in this process that Nature is the mother of art and, presents the new possibility of expression. A mushroom has been closely connected with human life from the primitive ages but has been neglected in the realm of desire art. We are surprised that a mushroom only known as the food has various form and beautiful color although it is small and little trifling. These characters of mushroom cause me to being this research. The purpose of this research is to create new moulding world by shaping the image of mushroom, to develope the various way of expression and to extend the realm of expression though such an work. For this purpose first the concept of nature and moulding art is pigeonholed. And then the kind, the form and the character of mushroom are researched by the literature survey and audio-visual data. Moreover, the modern works presenting the image of nature are collected, arranged and analysed. Eight works are produced based on the above theoretical survey. New techinques for representation will be extended in the reconstruction process of mushroom' s form. This works puts emphasis on the character of dress as a moulding art. Materials are selected with the image of each work. Leather, suede, velvet, hand-made silk are used to produce the works. Technique like hand-made dyong, knitting, quilting crochet pleating and shirring are used. The conclusion are summarized as follows: First, Nature which involves unlimited possibility can be used as the material to the moulding activity of human being. The fact that creative and high aesthetic work can be produced by reinterpretation to nature and the selection of material found. Secondly, New image of mushroom can be represented in the design process by transforming the basic form of mushroom. Mistery and possibility of nature can be understood in this work. Thirdly, not only external shape but also a hidden beauty of mushroom presents a possibility to be applicated to the design and moulding. Forthly, if the realm of the presentation by dress was extended by the development of news subject, dress as moulding art will be advanced.;자연은 삶의 터전이며 문화적 환경이고 시지각적으로 끊임없이 자극을 주는 대상이다. 자연의 섭리 안에서 존재하는 인간은 발생과 동시에 조형활동을 시작하였으며 그러한 활동은 인간만의 특권이며 가능성의 발견과 창조를 의미한다. 인간의 자연에 대한 동경은 미적 표현의 욕구를 성취할 수 있게 하였으며 이러한 끊임없는 변화나 발전에 대한 욕망은 인류 문명을 오늘날에 이르게 한 원동력이기도 하다. 궁극적으로 인간의 미에 대한 추구는 내적 표출의 한 형태로서 자연 형상의 아름다움을 표현하는 과정에서 각 예술 분야마다 그 소재의 대상이 되어왔다. 인간은 자연의 이미지를 재현하거나 재구성함으로써 표현 영역을 확대하고 있다. 이러한 과정에서 확인할 수 있듯이 자연은 예술의 모체이며 다양한 표현가능성을 제시해 준다. 자연물 가운데 원시시대부터 인간과 깊은 관계를 가지고 내려온 버섯은 우리에게 가장 밀접하면서도 소홀히 다루어져왔다. 단지 먹는 음식만으로 알려져 왔던 버섯이 작고 보잘 것 없지만 무한한 생명력을 갖고 있으며 다양한 형태와 색채의 아름다움을 지닌 생명체임을 알 수 있으며 이는 본 연구자로 하여금 끝없는 창작의지를 갖게 하였다. 본 연구는 버섯의 조형성을 이미지로 형상화하여 독창적인 조형세계를 추구하는데 그 목적이 있으며 예술의상의 다양한 표현방법과 가치를 개발하고 표현영역의 확대를 모색하고자 한다. 이러한 목적을 위한 이론적 배경으로는 자연과 조형예술에 대해 개념 정리를 하였으며 자연을 대상으로 한 버섯의 종류와 특성 및 형태를 문헌 및 사진 자료, 시청각 자료를 통해 연구하였다. 또한 현대 복식에 도입된 자연 이미지의 작품을 수집, 정리, 분석 하였다. 이를 바탕으로 총 8벌의 작품을 제작하였으며 버섯의 형태를 재구성하여 미술의상에 도입되는 과정에서 표현기법의 영역을 확대시켜 의상의 조형성을 개발하는데 그 의의를 두고 있다. 소재는 각각 작품의 이미지에 맞게 선택하였는데 가죽, 스웨이드, 수직실크 등을 사용하였으며 이미지 표현을 이해 직접 염색(Hand Made Dying), 니팅(Knitting), 퀼팅(Quilting), 코바늘뜨기(Crochet), 기계주름(Pleating), 고무줄박기(Shirring), 핀턱(pin tuck), 기계자수, 랩핑(rapping) 등의 기법을 사용하였다. 이러한 연구를 통해서 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 무한한 가능성을 내포하고 있는 자연은 인간의 조형활동의 소재가 될 수 있다. 그리고 자연에 어떤 방식으로 어떻게 접근하여 선택하고 해석하느냐에 따라 미적 가치가 뛰어난 독창적인 조형작품이 창출 될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 버섯의 다양한 형태를 연구함에 있어 자연의 신비함을 알 수 있었으며, 그것을 변형, 분석하여 조형적·시각적 특성을 발견하고 이를 다양하게 표현할 수 있었다. 셋째, 버섯의 유기적 형태를 표현하는데 있어 그 외형적 형태 뿐만 아니라 내재된 조형미를 인식할 수 있었으며 무한한 표현의 가능성을 지니고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 넷째, 예술의상에 있어서 표현 가능성의 개발을 통해 의상의 조형적 표현영역이 확대된다면 의상이 조형예술로서 갖는 창조적 능력과 가능성을 향상시킬 수 있을 것이다.
