담문양을 응용한 직물연구

Abstract

한국인의 근본적 성격은 인공을 피하고 될 수 있는 한 자연으로 돌아가려는, 자연주의사상(自然主義思想)이다. 자연의 조화를 그대로 받아들여 재현함으로서 마치 무의식중에 자연이 만들어낸 것 같은 비조화의 조화, 무기공의 기공인 그 오묘불가사이한 조화의 상태나 담백성, 소박미가 바로 한국의 미(美)이다. 우리 선조들이 이루어 놓은 아름다움 가운데에서 우리의 오관을 통하여 감지하고 또 우리를 희열로 이끌어 줄 수 있는 구체적 표현체로서 건축을 들 수 있다. 건축이란 한 시대의 생활을 담은 용기로서의 공간이므로 우리는 전통적 건축공간 속에서 한국인의 삶과 종교, 문화를 알 수 있다. 전통건축 중에서도 한국의 담장은 외적인 침입방지, 자기 영역구분이라는 기능외에도 이상적인 삶에 대한 현실적 기원을 담은 전통 문양을 표현하는 화폭으로서의 기능도 수행하였다. 담장에 표현된 전통 문양에는 자연에 대한 외경심과 이상 세계에의 동경, 행복에의 기구, 애정의 충만과 길상의 축원등이 담겨져 있으며, 우리 민족 고유의 미 의식과 정서가 살아 숨쉬고 있다. 이러한 전통문양에 대한 연구는 직물 분야에도 많이 행해져 왔고, 또 용도에 있어서는 어패럴(apparel)직물과 홈패션(home fashion)직물에 치중되어 왔다. 그래서 본 논문에서는 담장문양을 응용하여 실용성과, 조형성을 갖춘 조명등을 위한 직물디자인을 연구해 보고자 한다. 인테리어디자인, 금속디자인, 도자디자인 분야에서는 조명등을 위한 연구가 많이 되어 왔으나, 직물디자인에 있어서는 연구되어진 사례가 드물며, 간혹 실용성이 결여된 섬유조형으로서의 연구는 찾아볼 수 있다. 오늘날의 조명등은 점등(點燈)시의 느낌도 중요하지만 소등(消燈)시의 느낌 역시 중요하게 인식되어 소등(消燈)시 실내 분위기와 잘 조화 될 수 있는 다양한 조명등이 요구되어 진다. 또한 직물 조명등은 인테리어용 직물, 직물 벽지등과 더불어 토탈 코디네이팅(total-codinating) 하기에 적합하다. 게다가 직물 특유의 은은하고 부드러운 빛의 투과성과 가벼운 소재로서의 장점은 공간을 효과적으로 표현한다. 따라서 논자는 이러한 점들을 살리는 한편, 직물 자체만의 형태구축에서 발생하는 단점을 소재연구로서 보완하고, 한국 담장문양의 담백한 디자인으로 장식성을 높여 조명등의 재료로서 직물을 제시하고자 한다.;The fundamental character of Koreans is naturalism, which avoids artificiality and attempts to go back to nature. The harmony of disharnony which seems to be made by reproducing the harmony of nature, the state of mysterious harmony or candidness, and the beauty of simplicity, all these are Korean beauty. Among the beautiful works made by our ancestors, there is architecture as a concrete expression which is sensed by our organs and brings us to delight. Since architecture means space as the basin of life, we can understand Koreans' life, religion and culture in our traditional architectural space. Especially, Korean walls functioned as painting which expresses traditional patterns which include realistic prayers for ideal life, as well as the protection from ivasion and division from others. The traditional patterns expressed in the walls show reverence toward nature, longing for the ideal world, yearing for happiness, and praying for lucky physiognonomy, and there live our original beauty concept and emotions in them. Studies on this traditional pattern have been done for a long time, and focus has been made on apparel textile and home fashion. So, I'd like to focus on a lighting lamp as the use of a study on wall patterns. There have been a lot of studies on a lighting lamp in the filed of interior design, metal design and ceramic design but not many have been done on textile design though there are some studies on it as fabric modeling, which lacks practicality. In today's lighting, feeling when the light is turned on is important, but the moment the light is turn off is also important, and various lighting lamps which can harmonize with interior mood when turned off are needed. Also, textile lighting lamps are appropriate for tatal-coordinating with interior textile and textil wall papers. Besides, the permeability of soft light unique in textile and its advantage as light material effectively express space. Accordingly, I suggest textile as material for a lighting lamp by supplementing defects in modeling textile with material study, and elevating decorative characteristics with simple design of Korean wall patterns.
