Post modern design에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 현재 한창 진행중이며 많은 논란의 대상이 되고 있는 포스트 모더니즘, 그 중에서도 포스트 모던 인테리어 디자인의 이론을 정립하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 그 내용을 정리해 보면 다음과 같다. 1. 건축에 표현되는 포스트 모더니즘은 근대에서 현대로의 시대적 변화의 결과로써 등장했으며 그러한 특징은 사회적, 문화적, 정신적, 또 기술적 (technology)의 변화에 따른 상황을 배경으로 나타난다. 2. 건축에 등장한 포스트 모더니즘은 ①형태의 상징성 ②복합성과 대립성 ③전통과 역사주의 ④도시적 맥락으로 분류 할 수 있다. 3. 인테리어 디자인에 나타나는 포스트 모더니즘은 상이한 여러시대의 양식을 혼용함으로써 서로 다른 문화를 결부시켜 공간에 image를 부여하는 절충주의와 온유(metaphor) 또 부분생략(elision) 겹침(layering) 휨(skew), 축소(miniaturize)등을 통한 시각적 왜곡으로 구성된다. 4. 포스트 모던 지향의 인테리어 디자인에 나타나는 표현은 상징적 표현, 고전적 요소의 장식적 이용, 다양한 색상으로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 5. 포스트 모던 지향의 인테리어 디자인은 고전적 요소, 대중 상업적 요소, 다양한 색상들을 도입하는 장식주의, 전통적 요소를 현대적으로 소화 하여 공간에 의미를 부여하는 역사주의, 시각적 왜곡을 위한 역설, 원형과 열주의 사용, 의인화등의 특징을 지닌 Post-Modern Classicism으로 분류할 수 있다. 6. 포스트 모더니즘은 자체내에 많은 문제점과 한계를 가지고 있으나 이것이 좀더 성숙한 흐름이 되기 위해서는 근대주의의 기능적 합리적 해결방식의 바탕위에 형태 표현에 있어서 단편적 표현이 아닌 좀더 절충적이고 통합된 이미지로 구성될 수 있도록 해야 할 것이다.;The fundamental objective of this study was to delineate the major issues of the on-going debate in the field of post-modernism with a particular emphasis on the examination of post-modern interior design theories. The major points which have been covered in this study are as follows. 1. The expression of post-modernism in architecture can be seen as the result of a transition from the modern to the contemporary period with a corresponding influence as based on shifts in the social, cultural, intellectual and technological arenas. 2. Post-modernism in architecture can be categorized broadly into the following four areas: (a) symbolism of forms: (b) combination and non-complimentarity (c) traditionalism and historicism and (d) urban or city contextualism. 3. In addition, post-modernism as it is expressed in architecture can be said to be the result of a number of formulations which have been nurtured through the combination of different cultures throughout various periods including such points as dual-coding and metaphor as well as elision, layering, skew, miniaturization, and others which can be seen as paradoxes of visual distortion 4. The expressions of Interior design in the context of post modernism can be categorized inas symbolic expression, utilization of traditional elements as decorations, and various colors. 5. Post-modernism as a distinct feature in interior design can be categorized into three areas : ornamentalism, historicism, and post-modern classicism. Ornamentalism includes such features as mass-based, industrial, and multiple color elements whereas historicism accentuates the imagery of space through the incorporation of traditional elements into the modern context. Finally, post-modern classicism takes into account such points as the utilization of order and original form, paradox of visual distortion, and personification. 6. Post-modernism entails numerous built-in problems and limitations and in an effort to overcome some of the more outstanding difficulties as well as to achieve greater maturity it has to incorporate the funcitional and rational methods of resolution found in modernism as well as the specification of an integrated rule or methodology with respect to the expression of form instead of relying on fragementary methods.
