Abstract
(24 Little Canons on the Black Keys)>과 <어린이의 춤(Children's Dances)>, 그리고 코다이와 그의 동료 및 제자들이 그의 교육 원리를 근거로 하여 공동으로 만든 <피아노 학교 Zongora Iskola)를 분석하였다. Zolta´n Koda´ly(l822-1967) is the representive Hungarian composer and music educator of the 20th century. He realized the importance of the early education of children and began to develop musical teaching materials based on Hungarian folk music focusing on score-reading ability. The purpose of this study is to correctly recognize his teaching materials and survey their characteristics by analyzing his piano music and teaching materials. This study is composed of two parts. The first part focuss on theoretical background of his musical education. The second surveys his teaching materials for piano based on this theoretical background. In the theoretical background, his teaching principles and ideology, and this teaching method based on his teaching principles are studied. His philosophy that music should not belong to a few people and should be enjoyed by many has been maintained throughout the period in which he devoted himself to musical teaching and can be said to be the root of his musical education. In the second part, "24 Little Canons on the Black Keys" and "Children's Dances", which is composed by Koda´ly, and "Piano School Zongora Iskola", which is composed by Koda´ly, his collegues and his students together on the basis of his teaching principles are analyzed and the materials. "The 24 Little Canons on the Black Keys" reveals the ways of improing score reading ability through new music notation and solmization, and in the "Children's Dances", the connection between folk song and modern music is studied by form, rhythm and hatmony. And "Piano School" specifies such preliminary conditions before learning lessons as the movement of arms and hands, and includes the exercise of both hands crossing and extempore performance which can not be found in other teaching materials. The characteristics of Koda´ly's teaching materials for piano suggest a new teaching methodology by emphasizing what has been excluded in piano elementary education up to now. In conclusion, this study hopefully can contribute to developing various teaching materials for piano.
