사립초등학교 클럽활동의 실태조사연구

Abstract

오늘날의 학교교육은 인간능력의 조화로운 발달, 전인으로서의 인간 육성을 기하기 위하여 교과활동과 특별활동의 통합적인 구조를 갖춘 교육과정의 운영을 필연적으로 요구하고 있다. 특별활동 중에서도 가장 큰 비중을 차지하고 있는 클럽활동은 관심과 취미가 있는 활동 분야에 참가하여 소질을 계발하고 신장시키며 학습한 지식과 기능을 실제로 활용하는 기회를 갖게 하여 학습 효과를 심화, 확대시키고 다양한 개성을 가진 학생들과의 집단활동을 통하여 사회성과 협동심을 기르고 원만한 인간관계를 가지게 한다는 목표를 갖고 있다. 본 연구는 음악 클럽활동이 비교적 활발하다고 보여지는 서울 시내 총 38개 사립초등학교 중 음악 클럽활동을 실시하고 있는 37개 학교의 클럽활동운영 실태를 조사 연구하여 학생들의 바람직한 음악체험에 기여하는 클럽활동으로서의 활성화 방안을 모색해 보는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이 목적의 실행을 위해 본 연구에서는 문헌연구를 통하여 제6차 교육과정에서의 클럽활동의 교육적 의의에 대해 알아보고 설문조사, 전화 인터뷰, 직접 방문을 통하여 서울 시내 사립초등학교의 음악 클럽활동 담당교사를 대상으로 그 운영 실태를 설문 조사하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 음악 클럽활동의 편성은 대부분 클럽 담당교사가 계획하고 (70.3%) 직접적인 지도는 대부분 외래강사가 맡고 있었다. (94.6%) 둘째, 클럽활동에서 다루는 악기는 서양악기가 절대적으로 많았다. (96.7%) 셋째, 음악 클럽활동에 대한 학교장과 교사의 관심은 높았으며 학부모와 학생은 보통으로 나타났다. 넷째, 기악 클럽활동에 참여하는 학생에 대한 평가는 대부분 하고 있었으며 (94.6%) 그 기준은 개인의 향상도와 참여태도에 두고 있었다. 다섯째, 클럽활동에서의 음악활동은 학생들의 인성 발달 및 바람직한 음악체험에 도움이 된다고 생각하는 교사가 많았다. 이상의 결과를 종합하여 다음과 같은 제언을 하고자 한다. 첫째, 클럽활동은 전문성을 지닌 교사가 운영 편성해야 하므로 교사의 연수등을 통하여 전문성을 가진 교사의 양성이 요구된다. 학생들의 의사를 충분히 반영시켜 운영되어야 한다. 둘째, 클럽활동에서 조차 외면당하고 있는 전통음악의 영역을 넓히기 위해 전통음악에 대한 교사들의 재교육과 현직 연수가 반드시 필요하다. 셋째, 클럽활동에 대한 높은 관심도는 클럽활동의 활성화를 위한 학교의 적극적인 행정적, 재정적 지원으로 나타나야 한다. 넷째, 클럽활동의 결과보다는 개인의 향상도와 참여태도가 중시되어야 하는 평가는 반드시 하여야 한다. 다섯째, 클럽활동의 특징인 그룹활동을 통해서 사회생활의 적응이 부족한 것을 음악과 클럽활동의 집단연주를 통한 표현 방법과 합주 훈련으로 개선해 나갈 수 있도록 해야 한다. 이상에서 살펴본 바와 같이 음악 클럽활동이 자율적이고 창의성 높은 인간을 육성하고 학생들의 바람직한 음악체험에 기여하도록 활성화 될 것을 기대해 본다.;These days school education requires the development of harmonious human ability, as well as the operation of curriculum combined together with both the subject activity and the club activity so as to bring up a well-rounded child. The club activty, with much more weight among extar-curricular activities, has some aid ; ① to make students take part in the club activity fields in which they are interested ; ② to enlighten and expand their own aptitudes ; ③ to intensify and extend the learning effect by giving them the chance to put the learned knowledge and skill to practical use ; ④ to infuse sociality and cooperative spirit into their heart through the group activities with students of various characters ; ⑤ finally to inspire into them smooth human relation ship. The aim of this study lie in investigating the special activities and the club activities theoretically ; in analyzing the club realities of private primary schools which practise active music club activities in Seoul ; in finding out the way to activate the music club toward contributing to desirable musical experiences. In order to accomplish these objectives, this research through documents found the educational meaning of special activities and club activities in the sixth curriculum, and investigated and analyzed the managerial realities for the teachers in charge of the club activity in music at private primary schools in Seoul by means of questionaire, phone interviews and direct home visits. The findings of this study are ; ① the teacher in charge of club activity chief plans the club activity in music and many part time instructors teach the club ; ② the western musical instruments are played by most students in the club activity ; ③ the intersts of the school administrator and the teachers in the club activity in music are 'high' and those of the parents and the students are 'average' ; ④ the evaluation of the club activity in music is continuously conducted and its standard is measured on the imprvement of musical achievement ; ⑤ finally many teachers think that the club activity in music is beneficial to the development of students' personalities and desirable musical experiences. In synthetic conclusion, the following recommendations are made ;① in order to expand the scope of Korean traditional music excluded even in the club activity in music, it is necessary that the teachers in charge of music shoud be reeducated and retrained ; ② the high interest in the club activity in music should be shown with positive administrative and financial aid and with the teachers' creative, ever-researching attitude and passion for the club activity in music; ③ the evaluation of the club activity must be conducted without fail, and the process not the result, must be stressed ; ④ the lack of application to social life should be improved by means of an expressive approach and ensemble training through group performance. On the basis of the above, the club activity in music should foster self-regulating and creative humans and contribute to desirable musical experiences.
