「槿友會」 硏究

Abstract

Keun Woo Hoe (Association of Women's Movement) was unique organization for nationalist movement which took charge of a with in the independent movement against japanese imperialism, proclaming unified ideology with nation - wide organization. Purpose of this thesis are first, to reserch concretely whole process from establishment to lapses of the association which has been treated excessively briefly in the major theses related to korean women's movement under the japanese imperialism according with primary historical materials. In prepace of the thesis, the writer mae clear the method and viewpoint of study, furthermore in chapter 2 treated social background in the 1920s the association had been establishd, in chapter 3 set-up and activities, in chapter, and last pulled out conclusion. With the experience of 3ㆍ1 Movement in 1919, women enhanced the awakening and began to participate more positively in the save-the notion movement for the sake of nation and people. So called the modern women of 1920s were very active in diversified movements such as education, enlightenment movement, cultural movement, local product encouragement movement, and religious movement. It was at this time that education of Women had widely spread and women began to cultivate social awareness, and as a result considerable number of women have gone out to perform useful social funcions. In 1920s influx of socialism seemed to have made the national movement hlurish for a while only to bring forth idological division in itself. Meanwhile dissension also arose between left and right wings in the feminist movement, and the left wing suffered factional divisions and strifes. Consequetly to unite feminist movements into one movement became inevitable issue to those concerned and they, encouraged by the formation of Shin Kan Hoe, in May 1927 have at last succeeded in reating Keun Woo Hoe, an organization of korean women's movement. As result seventy and more branches were organized until Keun Woo Hoe got disdrganized. The contradiction of organizational but ideological unification, which was ignored at the beginning in the name of national interest, got more serious to be exposured. At last Keun Woo Hoe got disoganized by the pressure of japanese imperialism, its self-contradictions and the impact of Shin Kan Hoe's dissolution. It not only insisted the improvement of women's position and the breaking of feudalistic customes, but also struggled for the liberation ane independency of nation. Considering these historical facts, it's not proper to evaluate Keun Woo Hoe only as the failed association. Rather the historical meaning of Keun Woo Hoe ought to be found in the fact that it was the most active and struggling single national women's movement association.;槿友會는 우리나라 여성운동사상 처음으로 전국적인 규모의 조직과 통일된 이념을 標榜하고 일제하 민족독립운동의 一翼을 담당했던 여성들의 單一的인 민족운동 단체였다. 본 연구에서는 한국 여성사 중 1920년대 女性團體를 다루면서 간략하게 다루어져왔던 槿友會를 일제시대의 신문, 잡지 등을 토대로 槿友會 형성 이전의 女性團體와 槿友會가 創立하기까지의 과정, 活動과 解體에 이르는 槿友會의 전체상을 구체적으로 究明해보고자 하였다. 먼저 序論에서는 硏究目的과 間題시각을 밝히고 Ⅱ장에서는 1920년대의 女性團體들을, Ⅲ장에서는 槿友會의 創立과 Ⅳ장에서는 槿友會 組織과 活動狀況을 다루었고, Ⅴ장에서는 槿友會 解體와 그 역사적 의의를 살펴보고, 마지막으로 結論을 導出하였다. 시기적으로, 1919년 3·1 운동은 여성운동을 활발하게 하는 계기를 만들었고, 槿友會가 성립된 1920년대는 소위 新女性이 등장하여 교육, 계몽운동, 문화운동, 物産奬勵運動 등 다양한 활동을 전개했던 시기였다. 또한 여성교육이 전국적으로 보급되어 많은 여성이 사회로 진출하고, 1920년 流入된 사회주의 사상은 한때는 민족운동의 활성화를 촉진하는 것처럼 보였으나 점차 내부적으로 분열되어 分派와 派爭을 심화시키는 결과를 가져왔다. 이같은 분열을 극복하고 하나의 여성운동으로 통합시키고자 하는 문제가 대두되어 新幹會에 이어 槿友會가 결성되었다. 槿友會는 支會를 중심으로 지방과 연계되어 전국적으로 70여개의 支會를 설치하는 등 활발한 활동을 하였다. 그러나 新幹會도 解體되고 일제의 압박이 점점 심해지는 가운데 槿友會가 가지고 있던, 組織의 통일만을 이루고 思想的인 통일을 이루지 못했던 자체적 모순의 해결책을 찾지 못하고 결국 解體되고 말았다. 그렇다고 하여도 槿友會는 일제 침략하에서 최초로 통합운동의 길을 모색했으며, 여성의 地位向上과 封建的 因習 打破를 주장하고, 민족의 독립을 위해 투쟁한 단체였음을 볼 때, 실패로 돌아간 女性團體가 아닌 민족단일적 여성운동을 펼쳤던 전국적인 社會團體로 평가되어야 할 것이다.
