패류를 이용한 도자 후식기 디자인 연구

Abstract

인간의 생활 속에서 자연스럽게 이루어진 도자공예는 실생활의 목적인 실용성과 예술성을 조화시킨 생활자기로서 우리의 삶에 친숙하게 스며들어 있다. 생활자기는 우리의 삶을 윤택하고 편리하게 해주며 친밀한 공감대를 형성하여 좀 더 공예와 가까이 접할 수 있는 기회를 만들어 준다. 또한 경제 발전으로 더욱 다양해진 우리의 식생활은 점차 서구화되어 간편함과 여유로움을 즐길 수 있는 후식 문화를 발달시켰고, 그에 따라 후식기의 새로운 디자인 개발을 필요로 하고 있다. 본 연구는 다양한 형태와 아름다운 색상을 가진 패류를 소재로 하여 도자 제품에 응용시켜, 인간에게 자연적 정서를 느낄 수 있게 하며 생활에 편리하고 심미성이 추구된 후식기를 제작하려는 목적을 가지고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 도자 제품에 조형성 있고 다양하게 표현할 수 있는 디자인을 연구하기 위해 패류의 종류에 따른 형태적 특징 들을 문헌과 실물을 통하여 살펴보고, 산업도자에 표현된 패류의 이미지를 통하여 패류의 조형성을 탐색해 보았다. 그리고 본 연구자가 점차 서구화되는 식생활에 맞춰 주제로 정한 서양 후식기의 연구를 위해 참고로 동ㆍ서양의 후식과 후식기, 또한 후식기의 기능과 디자인에 대하여 살펴 보았다. 형태면에서는 패류의 다양한 형태중 타원형, 구형, 원추형, 주판알형, 탑형, 방추형, 송곳형, 이매패형, 나선형을 단순화시켜 후식기의 형태에 응용시켰으며, 패각의 결의 특징과 색상을 이용하여 상감과 그림의 방법을 통해 패류의 자연적이고 유기적인 선의 흐름과 색상을 나타낼 수 있는 형태로 디자인하였다. 각 작품의 구성은 다양한 후식의 종류와 용도에 따라 사용할 수 있도록 커피잔, 잔받침, 설탕 프림기, 주전자, 아이스크림기, 과자그릇 혹은 캔디볼 그리고 식탁의 분위기에 맞춰 사용할 수 있는 화병을 각각 한 조로 구성하였다. 제작방법으로는 대량생산을 위해 석고틀을 이용한 이장주입성형법을 택하였고, 태토는 백색도가 높은 고려도토사의 슈퍼화이트와 밀양백토를 사용하였으며, 작품에 따라 부분적으로 이장에 안료를 혼합하여 사용하였다. 그리고 표면장식의 효과를 위하여 색화장토를 이용하여 상감기법과 붓으로 무늬를 그려 표현하였다. 시유는 투명유에 안료를 섞어 분무하거나 붓으로 칠한뒤, 스폰지로 닦아내어 특정부분만 유약이 남아있게 하고 그 위에 투명유와 백색무광택유를 담금하였다. 소성은 0.14㎥ 전기가마로 마침온도 800℃까지 8시간 초벌소성후 2차소성은 0.3㎥ 전기가마로 마침온도 1250℃까지 10시간 산화소성하였다. 본 연구를 통해 패류의 선과 무늬를 이용하여 예술적으로 창작될 때 여러가지 형태와 디자인으로 새롭게 보여지며 도자식기에 응용함으로써 다양하고 실용성있는 후식기 디자인 개발 연구를 하는데 도움이 되었다. 이 연구가 인간의 생활과 밀접해 있는 자연물을 소재로 연구함으로써, 자연스럽고 친숙한 이미지의 디자인으로 생활문화에 가까이 스며드는 도자 후식기의 발달 계기가 될 수 있었으면 한다.;Ceramic art sinks familiarly into our lives as life pottery, harmonizing utility and art. Life pottery makes our lives abundant and convenient, and gives us a chance to approach industrial arts closer. Also, our eating habits have been gradually westernized and dessert culture has been developed. So we need to develop the new design of a dessert vessel. This study has a purpose to make people feel the emotion of nature by applying beautiful colored shellfish to ceramic ware, and to produce a dessert vessel which can be conveniently used in daily life and have some aesthetic aspects. Accordingly, to study on design which can express ceramic ware variously, I examined the characteristics of each kind of shellfish through relevant literature and real things, and searched for the modeling character of shellfish through the images of industrial pottery. Also, I examined the function and design of dessert and dessert vessels of the east and the west for the study on western dessert vessels. O adapted various forms such as an oval, sphere, arne counter, tower, spindle, gimlet and spiral to the shape of desset vessels, and designed velssels that can represent the natural and organic line and color of shell fish through inlay and painting, using th grair and color of shellfish. I made each group made up of a coffee cup, saucer, sugar-cream vessel, kettle, ice cream vessel, cookie ball and a vase. For mass production, I chose slip casting molding, using a plaster frame, super white and Mil Yang white soil, and partly used color paint mixed with slip. Also, I used inlaid work and drew some patterns for the effect of surface decoration. After spraying or painting with the mixture of paint and transparent glaze, I made some parts of glaze left by wiping with a sponge, and soaked on it with transparent glaze and white-no shine-glaze. Regarding burning, I did 1st burning at 800℃ in an 0.14㎥ electric cauldron for 8 hours, and second burning at 1250℃ in and 0.3㎥ electric cauldron. Through this study, I could develop and study on various and practical vessel design by applying the line and pattern of shellfish to pottery dessert vessels. I hope this study will give a chance to make natural things sinked into our lives with more natural and familiar image.
