선의 율동미를 응용한 의상디자인 연구

Abstract

Clothing reflects an esthetic sense of the period, above all it is included in formative arts of a valuable sight modeling. Therefore Clothing is both expression of social action infected with culture system of the period and the most personal elements in everyday life. Clothing is practical living arts expressing human body and life by finishing technical method and form of human body materials. Now human body of Clothing is a motive which explains space composition with human body and materials. Clothing is an alive formative arts because of artswork dressed in human body. Not image copying and form depiction but compound beauty of personal dynamic line and internal beauty with specializing artistic form of each period is declared. It establishes a position of formative arts according to the only creative mode. The form of it harmonies frame shape with partitive detail. Also the selection of its materials is an important part of silhouette composition and image expression, it harmony with design. Then the present study by selection on line of space composition's motive from design elements aims at, first, making new surface material sense with rhythmic line's expression by piping technique, second, showing development possibility of modern clothing design on the basis of it. For this theological background, the notion, characteristic, practice, class, rhythmical beauty, etc, of line with formative element were probed into documents, and surveied piping technique. Accordingly, it was produced with diagnostic example of modern dress-design applying line's rhythmic image. It was intended to create line's rhythmical beauty including effect of movement by flexible and soft materials, to pursue image of new design in working time through line's express effect and material sense. In order to express with effect of line rhythm, total 8 works inducing repetition principal of piping line to express and produce a curve easily to express cubic materials were maded really. Translucent silk nobang and polyester nobang, polyster chipon, for remarking curve effect of piping, is used by materials, and basic clothing is made with wool crape. In this way of study, the result of making works synthetically is as follows. The first, in composition with harmony curve's rhythmical twist and slow curve, the line's image of framing, changing, alive is applied with motive of clothing modeling's arts express. The second, producing to express line's rhythmical beauty the material sense of new image is exposed, and on the basis of it various design is expanded. The third, rather than line of decorative, fixed element, cubic silhouette's pursue of dynamically change according to motion, that is the expression of 3D space's rhythmical sense in relation with human body and clothing is possible. The fourth, line's rhythmical sense to express from piping according to strand's direction is different mutually, also line's effect of piping materials, line's effect with diversity and plenty is experimented. The problem to bring up in working time is as follows. The first, tuck's setting of piping materials should be finishing off not with sewing machine but with hand. The second, it is expressed intending curve's rhythmical beauty only if it sews piping line after cutting to bias course, but in process the length to get is limitted. The third, because of piping materials' own weight the problem is discovered out free expressing of curve and something to stick or fix on clothing, hence the point of form's change. Therefore 'The line's rhythmical beauty' which is design motive of present study is to try out clothing design in future with various method, and be chance for expance of creative expression.;복식은 그 시대의 미의식을 반영하고, 특히 인간의 내적 미의식 세계를 표현한다는 점에서 볼때 하나의 시각적 조형물로서의 가치를 갖는 조형예술의 범주에 속한다. 따라서 복식은 그 시대의 문화적 체계속에서 깊이 간직된 사회적 활동의 표명인 동시에 일상생활에 있어서 가장 개인적인 구성요소이다. 복식은 이체를 소재로 하여 기술적인 방법과 형태의 완성을 통하여 인간의 정신과 생활을 표현하는 실용적인 생활예술이다. 따라서 복식에 있어 인체는 하나의 주체가 되며 복식디자인은 인체와 재료가 이룩하는, 인체에 의한 공간구성으로 설명이 된다. 복식은 인체위에 입혀지는 예술작품이기 때문에 살아있는 조형예술이라 볼 수있다. 각 시대의 예술의 형태와 특성을 살린 이미지 모방과 형태의 실제묘사에서 벗어나 개개인의 동적인 선과 입는 사람의 내면적인 미를 종합한 복합미의 표현으로 볼 수있고 다른 어느 예술보다도 독특한 창작세계로 보아 조형예술로서의 위치를 확립하고 있다고 할 것이다. 복식의 형태는 구조적인 형태와 부분적인 디테일들과의 조화로 이루어 진다. 또한 복식의 소재 선택은 실루엣의 구성이나 이미지의 표현에 중요한 부분이며 디자인과의 조화도 이루어져야 한다. 이에 본 연구는 디자인의 요소중에서 선을 공간구성식 모티브로 선택하여 첫째, 파이핑 기법을 통한 선의 율동적 표현으로 새로운 표면 재질감을 창출하고 둘째, 그것을 토대로 하여 다양한 현대의상 디자인 개발의 가능성을 제시함에 그 목적을 둔다. 이를 위한 이론적 배경으로는 조형요소로서의 선의 개념, 특성과 종류, 율동미 등에 대하여 문헌 조사하였고 파이핑 기법에 대하여 살펴 보았다. 또한 선의 율동적 이미지를 응용한 현대 복식 디자인의 실례를 분석 제시 하였다. 작품제작시 새로운 디자인 이미지를 선의 표현효과와 재질감에서 추구하며, 신축성, 유연성 있는 재료로 움직임의 효과가 도입된 선의 율동미를 창출하고자 의도했다. 선의 율동을 효과적으로 표현하기 위해서 곡선의 표현과 연출이 용이하고 입체적인 질감표현이 가능한 파이핑 선의 반복원리를 도입한 총 8점의 작품을 실물 제작 하였다. 소재로는 파이핑의 곡선적 효과를 두드러지도록 하기위해 반투명한 견노방과 폴리노방, 그리고 폴리쉬폰을 선택하였고, 기본의상은 울 크레이프를 사용하여 제작 하였다. 이와 같은 연구과정을 통한 작품제작의 결과를 종합하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 곡선의 율동적인 꼬임과 완만한 곡선을 조화 시켜 구성함으로써 구조적이고, 변화있고, 생명력 있는 선의 이미지를 복식 조형 예술 표현의 한 모티브로 응용할 수있었다. 둘째, 선의 율동미를 표현하는 과정에서 파이핑 기법에 의한 요철 효과로 얻을 수 있는 새로운 재질감 표출이 가능하였고, 이를 토대로 다양한 디자인을 전개시킬 수 있었다. 세째, 장식적, 고정적 요소로서의 선이 아니라 움직임에 따라 다이나믹하게 변화하는 입체적 실루엣의 추구 즉, 복식과 인체와의 관계에 대한 3차원 공간에서의 율동감 표현이 가능함을 알 수있었다. 네째, 올의 방향에 따라 파이핑으로 표현해낸 선의 율동감이 서로 다름을 알 수있었고 파이핑하는 소재에 따라서 나타나는 선의 효과도 달라 다양하고 풍부한 선의 효과를 실험해 볼 수있었다. 제작과정중 제기된 문제점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 파이핑한 소재의 시접 처리가 재봉틀로는 불가능하여 수작업을 통해 마무리를 해주어야 한다. 둘째, 바이어스 방향으로 재단한 후 파이핑선을 박아주어야 의도하는 곡선의 율동미를 표현할 수있었는데 그 과정에서 얻을 수있는 길이의 한계가 있다. 세째, 파이핑한 소재 자체의 무게 때문에 곡선의 자유로운 표현과 의상에 부착하거나 고정시키는 것, 그리고 이로 인한 형태의 변형이라는 점에서 문제점이 발견되었다. 본 연구의 디자인 모티브인 '선의 율동미'는 앞으로도 다양한 방법으로 복식 디자인의 시도가 가능하다고 보며, 창의적인 표현의 확대를 위한 계기가 되었으면 한다.
