다기(茶器)세트 디자인 개발에 관한 연구

Abstract

차(茶)는 복잡한 생활속의 현대인에게 윤택한 정신생활을 위한 필수조건이 되어오고 있다. 문명이 발달하면서 산업적 현대화를 지향하게 되자 현대인들은 차생활에 있어서도 절차가 간편하고 쉬운것을 선호하게 되었다. 이와 같은 영향에서 오랜 다문화(茶文化)를 가진 우리나라이지만 서양문물의 산물인 커피에 익숙해져 왔고 다기개발 역시 커피세트를 주축으로 발달해 온것이 현실이다. 그러나 사회가 안정되고 여유를 찾게 된 현대인들은 한동안 덮어두었던 차문화에 대한 향수와 건강의 중요성을 인식하면서 여러종류의 차에 관심을 갖기 시작하였다. 따라서 본 연구자는 현대인들의 특성과 그들의 다양한 기호를 충족시켜 줄 수 있는 현대적이며 기능적이고 아름다운 다기의 디자인을 시도하고자 한다. 형태면에서는 현대적인 감각과 다기의 단아한 이미지를 복합시키고자 조형적인 면에서 적합한 유기적인 형태를 응용하였다. 살아있는 존재와 그들의 부분들이 드러내주고 있는 유기적 형태를 응용하여 생명력이 내재되어 있고 자연에 대해 공감적이며 풍부한 감정과 율동적 움직임의 표현에 중점을 두었다. 또, 가느다란 선과 추상적인 덩어리 형태와의 균형, 운동감, 비대칭적이면서 매우 자유로운 형태를 특징으로 가능성과 조형미가 강조된 다기세트를 개발하는데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해서 차의 개념과 종류의 일반적인 내용을 알아보았고 동서양의 다풍(茶風)과 그에 따른 디자인경향을 기능성과 조형성을 중심으로 문헌과 사진자료를 통해 고찰하였다. 그리고 유기적 형태의 자연적이고 우아한 특성을 바탕으로 다기로서의 기능적인 면과 미적인 면을 조화시킬수 있는 디자인을 모색하였다. 현대인의 생활방식과 특성에 부합되는 다기세트를 구성하기 위해서 주전자, 잔과 잔받침 그리고 차를 담아두는 차호, 그리고 차와 어울리는 떡이나 과자를 담을 수 있는 큰접시 혹은 보올(Bowl)을 한조로 제작하였다. 제작방법으로 대량생산을 위해 석고틀을 이용한 이장주입 성형기법을 택하였고, 점토는 백색도가 좋고 식기제작에 용이한 고려도토를 사용하였다. 시유는 투명유와 백색무광택유를 담금 시유하고 다양한 차의 색상과 식기의 조화를 고려해 흰색을 기본으로 하고 색안료를 혼합하여 변화를 주었다. 장식의 효과를 위해 부분적으로 상감기법을 사용하였고, 디자인에 따라 전사지나 상회안료로 그림을 그려 완성하였다. 0.5m^(3) 가스가마에서 마침온도 840℃에 5시간 초벌소성한후 마침온도 1240℃까지 9시간 산화소성으로 재벌하였다. 그리고, 3차소성은 마침온도 820℃로 4시간 소성하였다. 본 연구에서는 유기적 형태를 응용해 현대인의 특성과 기호, 개성을 충족시킬 수 있는 다기의 개발을 시도해 보았다. 이를 통해서 자유로움의 소재인 유기적 형태를 다기의 절제된 아름다움과 연결시켜 표현해 봄으로써 조형의 다양한 가능성을 모색할 수 있었다. 본 연구자는 전통다기의 재현이 아닌 시대의 요구를 따를 수 있는 다양한 디자인 연구가 더욱 활발히 이루어 질 수 있는 계기가 되었으면 한다. 또한 그로인해 우리의 전통차문화가 더욱 발전하고 대중화 되기를 기대해 본다.;Recently, an habit of drinking tea is becomming a prerequisite for an affluent moral life in this complexed world. People used to prefer convenience and handiness in the progress of industrial modernization as civilization developed. Hereupon, our long continued tradition of tea culture have shifted, to drinking coffee and development of designing the tea set, too, have progressed mainly in the form of coffee set. However, an importance of health and nostalgia for tradition of tea have led people to be interested in various sorts of teas. Nevertheless, tea sets, currently in market are limited in its designing, and unappropriate which necessitates the development of tea sets. Consequently, this study is on development of tea set in contemporary design. In the concept of shape, comtemporary sensibility and graceful images were composed. In the concept of form, suitable organic shapes are applied. The purpose of this study is development of tea set which posses: the balance between thin lines and abstract form of shape, sense of movement, asymmetricality and overall emphasis on harmony between function and the beauty of formation. As theological background, a definition of tea and its variation are investigated through the pictural data on tradition of tea and the trend of its design, from the East and the West. Based on the natural and refined distinction off organic form, these tea sets are designed for harmony of function and beauty. In order to organize the set with correspondence to the modern lifestyle, a set contains a tea kettle, a cup and a saucer or covered jar, and a plate or a bowl for ricecakes or cookies to accompany the tea. Slip casting methods have been employed an Goryodoto. The Clear glaze the white matte glaze, and various colors added th white glazes were glazed on. For the decoration, inlay techniques, using transcript, or drawing methods were used partly. All works were first fired 840℃ for 5 hours, were fired again to 1240℃ for 9 hours and third firing were at 820℃ for 4 hours in a same gasoline kiln. In conclusion, this study emphasizes on the designing and producing of a tea set which fulfil1s the needs of modern lifestyle, not in a sense of reviving the habit of traditional tea set, but in order for its prosperation and popurarlization in a different aspect.
