NONPILE RUG 디자인에 관한 연구

Abstract

The fabric which has the origin from mankind occureence has developed even into a field of manufacture art with aesthetic value together with practical purpose and decorative concept for many years. In this point the rug is a textile united artistic face and technological nature which definitely express the ornamental instinct, the modeling sense and the technological spirit of human. After reaching 20 centry, the care of rug was raised by periodic request and it become to open up newly with a genre of modern weaving art by fabric artists recognizing traditional core and peculiar artistic nature. Besides primary posibility in modern residence space and with interior decoration composed by aesthetic modeling, the rug has been sold many commodities made by machine in our country. The sale quntity has been increasing to 20% extent a year since 1980. But now the rug dealt with in our country's market is low price imported in Indonesia or high price imported in China and Persia. Most of the products made from our companies are mechanical products designed with reproduction of traditional model. Moreover, the real state of things is not high-grade in color, design and quality. Therefore, this research viewed the transition course of it through reference books, the trends of design represented from modern fabric movement after 19 centry and the style of rug classified from a technique. This study understood the many concepts of rug through a side of design and suggested the modem sense of rug to apply geometrical form on design. The characteristics and materials of rug were handled with interior side. And this research was intended to extend the effect of a interior decorative material being properly mixed skill nature and ornamental principle. Especially the rug was made of form change to differ from existing products sold at the market for stirring up characteristics manufacturd by hand. In this result, the following good and weak point turned out. First, we gained a satisfaction of design through weavings. Secon, the rug harmonized softly with other interior decorations because of a babric composing flexible medium. As we designed the rug with accentuating the decorative side, the stability lessened by walk or at sight. We realized that we had to procede the design research through harmonizing ornamental face and practical side to manufacture the rug of interior decorative material and then could make the ornamental and practical rug.;인류의 발생과 더불어 그 기원을 같이하고 있는 직물은 수세기 동안 실용적 목적과 함께 장식적 개념의 미적가치를 지닌 제작 예술의 한 분야로까지 발전 해 왔다. 이러한 면에서 볼 때 Rug는 인간의 장신 본능과 조형감각, 그리고 공예정신을 잘 나타내 주는 예술성과 공예성이 융합된 직물이라 할 수 있다. 20C에 이르러 시대적 요구에 의해 Rug에 대한 관심이 고조 되었으면 Rug의 전통성과 고유의 예술성을 인식한 섬유예술가들에 의해 현대 직조 예술의 한 장르로서 새롭게 개척 되어지고 있다. 현대 주거공간에 있어서 일차적인 기능성 이 외에도 미적 조형성을 갖춘 인테리어 장식재로서 Rug는 우리나라에서도 기계직Rug가 대량 생산되어 유통되고 있으며, 1980년대 이후 국내 가정 보급률은 연간 20%정도의 양적 증가를 이루고 있다. 그러나 현재 국내에 시판되어 있는 Rug는 인도산의 저가품이거나, 중국, 페르시아산의 고가의 수입품이고 우리나라 업체에서 생산되는 것도 기존의 전통문양을 복제하여 디자인한 기계직 재품들이 대부분이다. 또한 색상, 디자인, 품질 면에서도 고급화 되어있지 못한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 문헌을 통해 Rug의 변천과정을 살펴보고 19C 이후의 현대직물 디자인 운동에서 나타나는 Rug 디자인의 동향과 기법별 분류를 통한 Rug의 유형을 살펴 보았으며 Rug의 전반적인 개념을 디자인 측면에서 이해하고, 아울러 기하학적 형태를 디자인에 응용함으로서 현대적 감각의 Rug를 제시 하였다. 그리고 인테리어 측면에서의 Rug의 특성과 소재를 다루어 기증성과 장식성의 적절한 결합을 통한 인테리어 장식재로서의 효과를 증대 시키고자 하였다. 특히 수작업이 가지는 특성을 살려 현재 시판되고 있는 기존의 기계직 생산 제품과 차별화 시키기 위하여 형태적 변화를 주어 제작 하였다. 그 결과 다음과 같은 장, 단점들이 지적되었다. 첫째, 수공의 일품제작을 통해 디자인에 대한 충족감을 줄 수 있다는 점. 둘째, 섬유라는 유연성 있는 매개체로 이루어져 있으므로 다른 인테리어 장식 요소들과 부드럽게 융화될 수 있다는 점. 셋째, 장식적 측면에 중점을 두어 디자인 한 결과 기능성에 있어서 보행시 안정성과 시각적 안정감의 저하, 그리고 서로 다른 성질의 재료 사용에 따른 부분적인 문제점. 이에 따라 인테리어 장식재로서의 Rug 제작을 위해서는 장식성과 기능성의 조화를 통한 디자인 연구가 선행되어야 현실적으로, 장식적이면서 실용 가능한 Rug 제작이 가능하다는 것이 인식되었다.
