언어적 표현을 활용한 중학교 '보고 부르기' 음악 지도 방안 연구

Abstract

Since every musical idea expressed with sounds should be recorded on a note, singing requires comprehensibility of the notes recording the musical elements in diverse ways. For this reason, reading and signing of notes are very important for any vocal activity. The purpose of this study was to suggest a singing teaching method using some linguistic expressions to improve students' ability of reading and singing of the musical notes. 20th-century music educators Such as Zoltan KodÐly, Carl Orff and E. Gordon used the languages to make clear the musical concepts and thereby, improve students' learning effects. KodÐly developed a method of attaching syllables to rhythms and melodies and reading them, while Orff combined such familiar words as short traditional children's songs, people's names, chants and sayings with rhythms, tunes and forms to enhance students' musical experiences. Gordon also bound syllables to diverse sound patterns including rhythms and tonalities to help students structure the concepts and develop their musical capacity. It was reviewed these three music educators' pedagogics to determine some common musical elements or rhythms, melodies and forms and thereupon, designed a music teaching method using some linguistic expressions based on those three elements. In addition, applied to teaching method Orff's method of combining familiar words with musical experiences as well as Gordon's idea of abstracting diverse sound patterns to combine them with languages. In particular, KodÐly's method of reading rhythm syllables was applied to rhythms. The teaching method model was designed to help students read and sing the musical notes according to the stages of aesthetic stimulation∪ comprehension of basic functions ∪ creative expressions ∪ conceptualization ∪ valuation, and thereby, while some linguistic expressions could be used at each stage. The material vocal pieces used for this study were 「Mother's Mind」 and 「Spring Song」. This study aimed at developing a teaching method of 'reading and singing' the musical notes using some linguistic expressions based on understanding and comprehension of music. Lastly, it is hoped that this study will be followed by future studies which will develop the teaching method suggested by this study.;음악은 음을 통해 표현되는 음악적 사고를 악보를 통해 기록하기 때문에 노래 부르기 위해서는 음악의 요소들을 여러 가지 방법으로 표기한 악보를 읽을 수 있어야 한다. 이와 같은 이유로 가창 활동 요소 중 ‘보고 부르기’의 중요성이 강조된다. 이 연구의 목적은 보고 부르기 능력 향상을 위하여 언어적 표현을 활용한 지도 방안을 제시하는 것이다. 20세기 음악교육자 코다이, 오르프 그리고 고든은 그들의 교수법에서 음악 개념을 확실히 전달하고, 학습 효과를 높이기 위하여 언어를 활용하였다. 코다이는 리듬과 선율에 음절을 붙여 읽을 수 있는 방안을 계발하였고, 오르프는 짧은 전래 동요, 이름, 찬트, 속담 등의 친숙한 말들을 리듬과 가락 및 형식 등에 결합하여 음악적 경험으로 이끌었다. 고든 또한 리듬과 조성을 중심으로 다양한 소리의 패턴에 음절을 연합하여, 학습자가 개념을 구조화하고 음악적 성장을 이룰 수 있도록 하였다. 이 연구는 코다이와 오르프, 그리고 고든의 교수법에서 언어 활용 방안 고찰을 통해 공통 요소인 리듬, 가락, 형식의 음악 요소를 추출하였고, 세 가지 요소를 중심으로 언어적 표현을 활용한 지도 방안을 구안하였다. 지도 방안에는 학습자에게 친숙한 말들을 음악적 경험과 결부시킨 오르프와 다양한 소리의 패턴을 추출하여 언어와 연합시킨 고든의 아이디어를 적용하였다. 특히 리듬에 있어서는 코다이의 리듬 음절 읽기를 활용하였다. 미적 자극∪ 기초 기능 파악∪ 창의적 표현∪ 개념화∪ 가치화의 단계에 따라 ‘보고 부르기’ 지도 모형을 개발하여 각 단계에서 언어적 표현이 활용된 음악 개념 지도 방안이 적용 될 수 있도록 하였다. 이에 따라 중학교 음악교과서 중에서 5종 이상 출판사에 채택된 가창 제재곡인 「어머니의 마음」과 「봄노래」의 교수-학습 지도안을 작성하였다. 음악 교육자는 음악 학습을 효율적으로 지도하기 위하여 지도 방안을 지속적으로 계발해야 할 필요성이 있다. 이러한 측면에서 이 연구에서는 ‘보고 부르기’ 지도 방안에 언어적 표현의 활용을 시도하였다는 것에 의미가 있다. 그러나 언어적 표현을 활용한 ‘보고 부르기’ 지도 방안의 학습 효과 여부는 실증적 연구를 통하여 검증되어야 할 필요성이 제기된다.
