매니쉬룩(Manish look)의 해체주의적 접근을 통한 의상디자인 연구

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate how the manish look, which began to settle down since the 1970s, has been changed and accepted and what possibilities for development it has and to present new designs for manish look based on the Deconstructivitic theories that dominate greatly modem society, culture, and art. As the theoretical background, fashion history of manish look and examples of it in modem clothes have been examined. Also the deconstructivistic theories have been investigated, after that questions like in what style they are being developed in the field of design have been researched, and lastly actual applied instances have been looked at. In approaching, related literatures, reffering works, and photographic data have been intentionally sampeld, arranged, and analyzed to make actual works. In making the work, I have designed typical suit style manish looks, but while developing them into the destructive mode of deconstructivistic fashion. I have chosen men's suit as a subject matter to grant manish feel and finally made i works in total avoiding too much destruction and considering both aesthetical and practical aspects. And the results of this study can be summarized as follows; First, by investigating the manish look throughout the fashion history, we can understand manish look as one way of man's accepting the needs of the times and recognize it is being expressed into various styles in modern fashion. Second, in an age when the existing concept of sex begins to be obscure, the characteristic elements of the other sex can be an important design motive in fashion. Third, the deconstructivistic fashion against the compositional norms of clothes is an attempt to seek another potentiality of clothes, and thereby gives a lot of possibility for future fashion. Fourth, by approaching manish look from the deconstructivitic point of view, this study has presented the transformational possibility of typical suit style manish look.;본 논문은 1970년대 이후 정착하기 시작한 매니쉬룩이 오늘날에 와서는 어떻게 변화되어 수용되었으며, 어떠한 발전가능성이 있는가에 대한 연구를 목적으로, 현대의 사회, 문화, 예술을 크게 지배하고 있는 해체주의 이론에 기초하여 매니쉬룩의 새로운 디자인을 제시하고자하였다. 연구의 이론적 배경으로 매니쉬룩에 대한 복식사적 배경과 현대복식에 나타나는 매니쉬 스타일의 예를 살펴보았다. 또한 해체주의 이론을 고찰하고 그것이 오늘날의 디자인분야에서 어떤 스타일로 전개되고 있는지를 살펴보았으며, 복식에 응용된 사례를 찾아보았다. 본 연구의 방법은 이론적배경의 고찰을 위해 관계문헌, 참고작품, 사진자료를 유의표집하여 정리, 분석하고 이를 토대로 작품을 제작하였다. 작품은 전통적인 슈트 스타일의 매니쉬룩의 변형을 위해 해체패션의 한 양상인 파괴지향의 디자인으로 전개해 나가되 매니쉬한 느낌을 살리기 위해 남성 신사복 소재를 사용하였으며, 지나친 파괴는 지양하고, 미적 측면과 실용적 측면을 모두 고려하여 총 8점의 실물작품을 제작하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 종합하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 복식사에서 나타나는 매니쉬룩에 대한 고찰을 통해 시대가 요구하는 적응방식에 대한 인간의 수용방법의 하나로서 매니쉬룩을 이해하고, 매니쉬룩이 현대복식에 다양하게 표현되고 있음을 인식하게 되었다. 둘째, 복식에 있어서 성의 구별이 사라지고 있는 현대에 성의 특징적인 복식요소들은 디자인 개발의 중요한 모티브가 될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 복식의 전통적 구성 규범에 대한 저항에서 비롯되는 해체주의적 패션은 고정관념을 탈피하려는 시도로서, 디자인에 있어서 기존의 사고를 초월하는 새로운 시각을 제시하였다. 넷째, 매니쉬룩에 대한 해체주의적 접근을 통해 새로운 감각의 매니쉬룩을 제시하였으며, 무한한 디자인 개발의 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.
