연필을 이용한 일러스트레이션 표현

Abstract

An Illustration is a means of visual expression on the assumption that it functions as the information art especially a communication. An Illustrator takes this job. He should usually have an exact understanding of the information that he wants to show up. He makes an appeal to readers with a characteristic way using the hittest materil. There are some point that a capable Illustrator must try to do. First, he have to understand may sorts of materials, and next master the way how to use them, and then extend his expression ability to explain a new visualized problem about an information. Andrew jang mentioned the three requisites for the Illustration: Mediam or Mated, Technic & Style and Concept in his book. This thesis is about me of the three requisites, the technic with mterial. I would like to use a pencil for the Illustration-a pencil with which you can maximize its strongpoints and find new way for the Illustration. From the 16th century, the history of the pencil started. Do you know that we used a natural graohite mass at the beginning? We now use a pencil and more convenient pencil, called Mechanical pencil. People in all over the world use it for writting until today. It is the instrument firstly given to a beginner in art as a basic material to sketch and draw a perfect picture. It is an adaptable instrument to use in all fieids without considering time and place. It is the cheapest one and portable. You can easily learn how to use it I wonder why it is used only as a first step material such as Dessin, Finishing Meduim, Drewing and Sketch in art field, even though it has many unilities and advantages. I conducted an experiment that I brought my work to completion only by using it in wide tones various drawing and writting ways. What wodd be the effect of the technic of pencil? I couild take off the tendeney to depend on color habitually. 1 fourid an unboncled expression of possibility to accomplish a piece of work only with a primitive instrument, a pencil, and had a opportunity to reconsider the function of the pencil. I hope that a pencil will be used widely as a Illustrating instrument. A pencil is the instrument with which you can express abundant emotions and tones for informing the topic and the text of the Illustration.;일러스트레이션은 정보전달 기능을 전제로 한 시각 표현 수달이다. 정보전달을 위해서는 우선 일러스트레이터가 정확한 정보이해를 한 후 가장 적합한 재료를 사용하여 개성 있는 기법으로 독자에게 어필(appeal)한다. 유능한 일러스트레이터란 각종 다양한 재료를 이해하여 기법을 체득하여 표현능력을 확대하여 정보에 대해서 새로운 각도에서의 문제해석을 위해 노력해야한다. 앤드류장은 그의 저서 '일러스트레이션의 세계'에서 일러스트레이션의 3대요소를 재료(Medium or Matetial), 기법과 스타일(Technic & Style) 그리고 컨셉트(Concept)라고 하였다. 본 논문은 '일러스트레이션의 3대요소중 재료의 표현기법에 대한 연구로서 재료가 갖는 장점을 극대화하고 새로운 기법을 가미한 연필을 일러스트레이션의 재료로서 사용해 보고자 한다. 연필은 16세기에 그 역사가 시작되어 천연 흑연을 덩어리째 쓰던 때부터 나무속에 심이든 연필 그리고 간편하게 쓸 수 있는 샤프펜슬(Mechanical Pencil)을 사용하는 오늘날에 이르기까지 인류가 가장 널리 사용하고 있는 필기구이며, 미술을 시작하는 사람에게 있어서는 스케치나 완성된 그림을 그리기 위한 기본적인 재료로서 처음으로 주어지는 도구이다. 연필은 가장 값싸고 손쉽게 익힐 수 있고 간편하게 휴대하며 때와 장소에 상관없이 여러 방면에 쓸 수 있는 융통성 있는 도구이다. 이렇듯 많은 쓸모와 장점을 지니고 있는 연필이 미술분야에서 에스키스나 마무리 도구(Finishing Meduim), 드로잉, 소묘 등과 같은 일차원적인 재료로만 쓰이는 것에 의문을 가져 보았다. 그래서 연필의 다양한 필법과 폭넓은 톤(tone)을 사용하여 연필 하나만으로 작품을 완성하여 일러스트레이션의 표현재료로서의 효과에 대해서 실험하였다. 이를 그림동화 일러스트레이션에 적용하였다. 그림동화 일러스트레이션에서 연필의 다양한 톤과 터치로 색의 이미지를 대신하였다. 물론 색에 대해 많은 흥미와 민감한 반응을 보이는 어린이들에게 연필의 들과 터치가 색을 대신할 수는 없을 것이다 그러나 대상을 관찰하여 사실주의에 접근하려하고 색채의 명암에 관심을 갖게되는 시기의 어린이들에게 폭넓은 시각적 경험을 하여, 관찰할수록 흥미를 느낄 수 있는 그림동화 일러스트레이션이 되었으면한다. 이와 같이 연필은 주제나 전달내용을 표현하는데 있어 풍부한 톤과 다양한 선의 표현으로 감정을 가진 도구이므로 일러스트레이션의 재료로서 널리 사용 되었으면 하는 바램이다.
