일루젼(illusion)을 통한 기억의 시각 표현 연구

Abstract

A work of art can be said as a process of recreating objective facts into unique images based on the artist's own concept or experience not only depicting ordinary things or aspects of the present. By this reason, the essential ground of creating a work lies in the artist's inner world and formation of present images changed from the artist's subjective experiences into certain artistic motives or aesthetic elements with the current of time. In this study, some visual formation has been executed through illusionary methods by making certain motives from various memories which is continuously changing according to the artist's self or intuitional realms. In the second chapter of this study, the basic concept of memory and its relation with time and space were investigated and next illusionary methods of expression accompanied the concept of time and space and the role of vision or perception in illusion were examined. And in the third chapter, artists who visually presented their memories were investigated to see that one's memories are an important resource of art. And finally, based on these investigations the author of this study actually made a work by analyzing and expressing her own memories and later analyzed her own work. In this study, the author made a formation by re-constructing several images accumulated in her memories through analysis or combination of meaning related with the forms of memory and memory itself. And she thinks creative thinkings come from artists' psychological memories.;예술 작품이란 평범한 사물이나 현재의 모습을 그대로 표현하는데 불과하지 않고 어떤 객관적 사실을 작가의 관념과 경험에 의해 독창적인 이미지로 재창조하는 과정이다. 이러한 점에서 작품제작의 근본적 바탕은 내면세계에 있는 것이며 작가의 주관적인 체험이 시간의 흐름에 따라 예술적 동기로 변화되어 현재의 이미지로 떠오른 것을 여러 가지 미적 요소로 형상화하는 것이라 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 이렇게 작가의 자아의 상태나 직관적 영역의 토대에 따라 변화되는 여러 가지 기억의 이미지들을 모티브로하여 그것을 공간과 시간의 흐름에 연관시켜 시각적 일루젼(visual illusion)의 방법으로 조형화해보고자 하였다. 논문의 구성은 먼저 Ⅱ장에서 기억의 기본적 개념과 시간 및 공간과의 연관성을 알아보고 시간과 공간개념에 따른 일루젼 표현방법, 그리고 일루젼에 있어 시각 및 지각과의 문제를 고찰하여 보았으며 Ⅲ장에서는 여러 기억의 이미지를 시각적으로 표현했던 작가들을 살펴봄으로써 조형예술가에 있어 기억이 작품제작에 있어 중요한 토대가 되고 있음을 고찰해 보았다. 또한 마지막으로 이와 같은 고찰을 기초로하여 연구자 본인에게 내재된 여러 기억이 이미지들을 현재의 시점에서 새롭게 해석하고 표현하여 조형화한 작품들을 분석해 보았다. 본 논문에서 본 연구자의 창조적 사고는 자신의 심리적 기억에 바탕을 두며 기억의 형태와 그 기억과 연관되어진 의미의 해석 또는 결합에 따라 기억속에 축적된 여러 이미지들을 재구성함으로써 작품으로 조형화하였다.
