아프리카 직물 문양을 응용한 니트 웨어 디자인 연구

Abstract

현대 패션산업의 변화 중 괄목할만한 점은 니트 제품 소비의 증가추세로 전체 의류시장 규모가 감소했음에도 불구하고 전 연령에서 니트의 소비량은 증가하는 추세이다. 또한 에스닉(ethnic) 트렌드는 2000년 이후 꾸준하게 등장되고 있는 메가 트레드로 2000년대 초 오리엔탈 경향에 이어 다양한 민속적 특성을 담은 의상들이 패션 컬렉션 및 제품에서 큰 비중을 차지하였고 2005년 S/S 컬렉션에서는 아프리카의 이미지가 물씬 풍기는 다양한 디자인들이 발표되기도 하였다. 니트웨어는 에스닉 느낌을 표현하기에 적합한 소재로 우수한 신축성과 편안함의 기능성을 넘어 소재의 복합성과 패턴, 색상 조직의 다양화와 고급화로 그 수요가 점점 많아지고 있다. 또한 소비자들의 개성이 다양해짐에 따라 독특한 질감이 요구되어지고 있다. 이러한 시대적 흐름으로 니트는 최근 컴퓨터 기계 니트와 다양한 소재의 복합성과 의도적으로 부분적인 변화가 가능하며, 다른 장식물의 부착이 용이한 핸드니트 등의 수공예적인 기법이 각광을 받고 있는 추세이다. 니트 제품은 디자인하기에 여러 가지 노하우를 필요로 하며, 다양한 종류로 분류되고 있다. 그러나 니트 디자인에 대한 선행연구는 트렌드적 경향을 조사 분석한 내용이 대부분이며, 실질적인 니트 디자인 제안 사례의 선행연구는 매우 미비한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 현대 패션디자인의 다양한 표현 욕구에 부응할 수 있는 니트 디자인의 개발을 모색하는데 그 목적을 두고 아프리카 직물의 기하학적인 문양 조화와 색상을 응용한 니트웨어를 디자인하여 제시하고자 한다. 연구의 방법으로는 전문서적 및 간행물, 인터넷 사이트, 선행연구를 통하여 아프리카의 직물문양에 대한 특성을 조사하고 자료를 수집하였으며, 아프리카 박물관을 방문 조사하였다. 니트 자카드 조직에 대한 자료는 선행 연구를 통하여 조사하고 부족한 자료와 샘플은 니트 업체에서 수집하거나 직접 편직하여 정리하고 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아프리카 직물의 문양은 그들의 종교적 예술관에 기초한 애니미즘 사상을 기반으로 형성되었으며, 동식물을 비롯한 자연물을 주요 모티프로 하며 자연물들을 상징적으로 해석하여 기호화된 기하학적 문양으로 구성되어 있다. 직물의 문양은 삼각형, 사각형, 번개형, 원형 등을 기본으로 연속무늬 형태를 취하고 있으며 이러한 형태를 반복시킴으로써 사각형의 직물은 완성된 문양을 얻게 된다. 문양의 기하학형은 반은 직선, 반은 곡선으로 되어진 것도 있으나 대체로 직선형으로 이루어져 있다. 이들 문양은 지극히 기하학적인 도형으로 구성되어 있어 자카드 니트 디자인에 적용하기에 적절하였다. 둘째, 컬러 니트 자카드는 편직 방법과 이면에서 보여 지는 편직상태에 따라 노말 자카드(Nomal Jacquard), 버드아이 자카드(Bird'eye Jacquard), 플로팅 자카드(Floating Jacquard), 튜블러 자카드(Tubular Jacquard), 레더백 자카드(Ladder's back Jacquard), 블리스터 자카드(Blister Jacquard), 트랜스퍼 자카드(Transfer Jacquard)의 7종류의 기법으로 분류할 수 있으며, 선행 연구 및 직접 편직하여 살펴본 결과, 같은 조건, 즉 콧수와 회전수가 일정해도 각각의 자카드 기법은 그 편지가 서로 다르게 완성됨을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 일반적으로 니트디자인 제작에 주로 사용되는 버드아이 자카드와 그 중량감을 적게 하기위해서 사용되는 레더백 자카드, 튜블러 자카드 등의 3가지 편직기법을 7GG와 12GG의 기계종류에 적용시키기에 적합하였다. 두께감을 줄 수 있는 튜블러 자카드는 외의로 착용되는 망토와 원피스형 코트, 후드달린 코트의 아이템으로 디자인하였으며, 버드아이 자카드를 적용하여 점퍼와 스커트, 원피스를 제작하였다. 가벼운 느낌의 원피스는 레더백 자카드를 적용하여 편직하고 적합하였다. 넷째, 실물제작은 자카드 조직의 특성과 시각적인 선의 특성을 살리기 위해 4～6종류의 색상과 선의 대비 및 구성, 원사 소재의 대비를 응용하여 디자인을 전개하였다. 시즌별 트렌드 탑 아이템으로 망토, 롱니트, 코트, 원피스, 점퍼, 레깅스 팬츠 등 다양한 디자인의 변화에 아프리카 직물 문양의 조화는 현대 니트 트렌드를 충족시키기에 충분하였으며, 민속적 이미지를 더해주고자 장식된 요소로 아프리카 직물의 문양은 더욱 효과적으로 표현될 수 있었다. 현대 니트 디자인의 트렌드를 살펴보면, 컴퓨터 기계의 빠른 변화와 함께 다양하고 기술적인 면이 강조된 디자인들이 등장하고 있다. 재단할 필요가 없이 성형되어 몸판이나 소매 등이 편직되어 나오는 것은 이미 오래전이며, 최근에는 봉제가 필요 없이 기계에서 바로 완성되는 풀패션, 홀가먼트 등이 활성화되고 있다. 특히 가벼운 니트 소재의 수요가 늘어남에 따라 편직에서도 그러한 효과를 살릴 수 있는 인타샤 기법이 많이 응용되고 있다. 그러나 니트 자카드 기법은 니트 디자인의 기초가 되는 방법으로 그 기법과 특성을 잘 파악하고 적절하게 적용시킨다면 좋은 니트디자인을 제공할 수 있으리라 생각된다.;Even though total clothes scale is reduced, the consumption of knitted ware is on an increasing trend in whole ages that is worthy of close attention. As ethnic has been steady trend since 2000 so that it became mega trend, clothes which has various ethnic characters, is given much weight in fashion collection and products after oriental trend in the early 2000s. As knitted ware is fit to express ethnic emotion and knitted ware has many strengths such as complexity, pattern and various color texture beyond a function, knitted ware has, such as flexibility and comfort. Furthermore, unique texture has been needed according that consumer has various personality. According to this trend, Knitted ware can be changed partially intentionally by using computer knitting machine for the complexity of various material and technique of handmade work that is usable for attaching other ornaments, is being highlighted. This research tries to develop knitted ware design to meet desire to express diversity in the modern fashion design so that we designed knitted ware by applying african geometric pattern and color to suggest new knitted ware design. We collect data about african texture pattern through technical books, publications, internet, and preceding research and visit and investigate the African museum. We investigate knitted texture and Jacquard texture through preceding research and collect sample and data which is insufficient in the data source as I mentioned above, from drapery or knit texture directly and then we rearrange and investigate them. The major conclusions in this research are summarized as follows: First, African texture pattern is formulated with animism based on their religious view of art for a basis and African regards nature like animal and plant as a motive and interprets nature in the abstract so that they can create symbolized geometric features that constitute African texture pattern. Texture pattern is running pattern, based on triangle, rectangle, a shape of lightning, round and so on. As figures show repeatedly, rectangle texture acquires entire pattern. Those patterns is composed of extremely geometric figures so that they are fit to apply for jacquad knit design. Second, color knitted jacquad can be distinguished by knitting method and status of knitting as 7 kinds of techniques such as Nomal Jacquard, Bird'eye Jacquard, Floating Jaquard, Tubular Jacquard, Ladder's back Jacquard, Blister Jacquard, Transfer Jacquard, and as a result of preceding research and knitting texture directly, jacquard technique makes different texture under same condition like consistent spinning rate and same crochet hook. Third, Bird'eye Jacquard used generally to make knitted ware and Ladder's back Jacquard, Tubular Jacquard used to make knitted ware light are fit to apply them to 7GG and 12GG machines. We design a cloak as a outer garment , a coat shaped like one-piece dress and a coat with hood by using Tubular Jacquard which can make thick texture and design a jacket, a skirt and a one-piece dress by using Bird'eye Jacquard. we make a light and flimsy one-piece dress by usingLadder's back Jacquard. Fourth, we apply the contrast of 4～6 color and line and the contrast of texture and raw material to jacquard in order to emphasize texture property and visual property. The harmony of African texture pattern and various alteration in seasonal item such as cloak, long jacket, coat, one-piece dress, jacket and leggings pants can meet modern knitted ware trend and African texture pattern can express ethnic image effectively by using ornament.
