디지탈을 이용한 컴팩트디스크 표지 사진 제작

Abstract

오늘날, 문화를 지배하고 있는 것은 순수 예술이 아니라 대중 매체이다. 현대의 대중 사회의 원활한 작동을 위해서, 그리고 개인들의 원만한 삶의 영위를 위해서 없어서는 안되는 존재인 것이다. 대중 매체는 새로운 문화를 창조하고 발전시키는 장을 제공한다. 그것은 사람들에게 새로운 규범, 새로운 전통, 새로운 예술, 새로운 유행, 새로운 생활 양식 등을 만들어 내고 전파하는 수단으로 작용한다. 오늘날 대중 매체는 새로운 정서를 낳고 확산시키는 데 가장 결정적인 역할을 수행한다. 현대 사회에서 음악과 노래는 가장 일상적이고 보편적인 만큼 어느 문화보다도 강하고 심대한 영향을 우리의 삶에 미친다. 이러한 음악과 노래는 현대인들에게 TV, 라디오, 음반, 녹음 테이프 등과 같은 대중 매체에 의해 전달되어 진다. 본 논문에서는 디지탈 사진을 이용한 시각적 커뮤니케이션의 방법으로 Compact Disc 표지를 제작하였다. 보다 전문적이고 설득력 있는 Compact Disc 표지 제작을 위해 컴퓨터 그래픽스를 이용하여 보완하였고 음악 분야를 연주곡과 대중가요로 나누어 연구하였다. 먼저 표지 제작에 필요한 이론적 배경을 조사하고, 그 내용을 토대로 두가지 주제를 각각 시각화시켜 촬영한 후 이를 실제로 응용하여 Compact Disc 표지를 제작하였다. Compact Disc는 가장 적극적인 수용층을 위한 시장이므로 대중의 다양한 취향에 부응하여 더욱 신선하고 독창적인 표현이 요구된다.;Today's culture is defined and dominated by mass media., not by pure art anymore. Mass media has become an integral part of our lives, for it works not only as a medium of transmitting information to the complex society, but also as a tool of diversifying one's lifestlye. Mass media provides the grounds for developing and even creating a new generation of culture. It provides the means of disseminating new rules, new traditions, new forms of art, and new trends opening another chapter for new lifestyles. Culture, formed by mass medial, has various shapes. Among those, music is the genre in which we can access most easily. Music is enjoyed through listening. People nowadays, however, can also connect with music visually through the covers of LPs, cassettes, and compact disks. In this thesis, I studied the designing of covers of compact disk titles through the methods of visual communication using digital photography. First, I catagorized music into two groups: instrumental and vocal. Second, I researched the theoretical backgrounds of each type of music, and from that I visualized them into photographs. Finally, I applied computer graphic techniques into those digital images in order to bring out the particular theme in which the music is carrying. Compact disks are for those who enjoy music seriously. Thys, the designing of its title covers should not only reflect auditory content, but is should also satisfy visual appetites of those who purchase the goods.
