자연에 나타난 질감을 이용한 직물 디자인 연구

Abstract

These days' sense of beauty values personality of individuals far higher than generalized prettiness. Keeping pace with consumers' current demand for diversity and high quality in response to changing sense of beauty, the role of texture in textile industry became more important as it has a large effect in the purchasing pattern in the age of sensitivity. As an attempt to produce textile with enhanced artistic and aesthetic value, the present researcher will particularly create textile of diverse textures. The researcher believes that the reproduction of natural textures through the medium of textile will create high quality fabrics of comfortable and friendly feeling. Attaining the effect of various textures appearing in nature requires not only artistic sense but also engineering research on textile and technological methods. As technological methods are essential in realizing free and sensitive expression in the limited scope of textile, this study will perform a research on texture effects utilizing the physical and ornamental characteristics of yam. The purpose of this study is to examine various methods of producing texture effects, and to develop improved texture effects by mixing these methods. As for theoretical background, this study analyzed the significance of nature as the object of design and its expression methods, and investigated the general meaning of textile texture and various methods of expressing natural images as well as cases that reproduced these images in textile. The factors that determine the visual and tactual texture of textile are studied by investigating the elements of yam. The yam that constitutes textile influences the texture of the textile surface. Moreover, the texture of textile varies according to the color, shape and texture of yarn. The structure of textile and manufacturing process are also factors that affect the texture of textile.;오늘날에는 사회 전반적으로 획일화된 아름다움보다는 각각의 고유성이 돋보이는 개성이 더욱 높이 평가되고 있다. 사회의 이런 변화된 미의식은 소비자의 성향을 다양하고 고급화된 추세로 이끌고 있으며, 텍스타일이 표현하는 질감은 오감(五感)의 자극에 훈련된 감성시대의 소비자 구매패턴에서 큰 비중을 차지하고 있어, 그 역할이 더욱 중요시되고 있다. 이러한 추세에 맞춰 창의적이고 심미적 가치를 더한 직물을 제작하기 위한 하나의 시도로써 본 연구자는 직물의 다양한 질감을 창출해내고자 한다. 특히 우리가 체험하는 여러 가지 질감 중에서 자연에 나타나는 질감을 섬유라는 매체를 통해 재현함으로써, 편안하고 친근한 느낌을 주게 되고, 직물질감의 다양한 변화, 창의성과 동시에 고급스러움을 느끼게 할 수 있다고 생각한다. 직물이라는 제한된 범위 내에서 이러한 질감을 자유롭고 감각적으로 표현하기 위해서는 예술적인 감각뿐만 아니라 직물에 대한 공학적인 연구와 기술적인 방법이 바탕이 되어야 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 실의 물리적 특성과 장식적인 특성을 최대한 이용하여 질감표현연구를 하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 텍스타일의 질감에 영향을 주는 여러 가지 요인들을 고찰하고, 그 요인들을 적절히 혼용하여 다양한 방법으로 보다 나은 질감효과를 표현하는 데 있다. 연구의 이론적 배경으로, 디자인 대상으로서의 자연의 의미와 표현방법을 분석하고, 텍스타일 질감의 일반적인 의미와 함께 질감을 효과적으로 표현할 수 있는 다양한 방법을 자연의 이미지와 그 이미지를 재현한 실례의 직물들의 조사를 통하여 고찰하였다. 직물의 시각적인 질감과 촉각적인 질감에 영향을 주는 요인들을 섬유의 성분과 실의 구조, 직물의 조직과 가공으로 분류하였고, 질감효과의 변화를 연구해 보았다. 이러한 이론적 배경을 바탕으로 본 연구작품 제작은 위사의 질감으로 인한 다양한 시각적, 촉각적 질감을 창출하고, 실의 물리적 특성으로 인한 수축률의 차이를 이용하여 요철효과를 표현하는데 중점을 두고 있다. 또한 위사의 텍스츄어가 주는 질감을 토대로 하늘과 땅의 이미지를 표현하였고 늘 변화하는 자연의 모습을 조직변화로 생겨나는 다양한 무늬의 요철효과를 이용하여 구체적으로 묘사하였다.
