유치원의 부모 학급보조자 사전 교육 프로그램 모형 개발

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 유치원의 부모 학급보조자를 자발적으로 신청한 부모의 요구를 바탕으로 부모 학급보조자가 참여하는 활동에 적합한 사전 교육 프로그램 을 체계적으로 개발하여 실시하고, 부모 학급보조자 사전 교육 프로그램을 평가·수정하여 교육 현장에서 유용하게 활용할 수 있는 부모 학급보조자 사전 교육 프로그램 모형을 개발하는 것이다 위와 같은 연구 목적에 따라 다음과 같은 연구의 문제를 설정하였다. 1. 유치원의 부모 학급보조자 사전 교육 프로그램에 대한 요구는 어떠한가? 2. 유치원의 부모 학급보조자 사전 교육 프로그램의 개발 및 실시 과정은 어떠한가? 3. 유치원의 부모 학급보조자 사전교육 프로그램의 평가 및 수정은 어떠한가? 본 연구의 대상은 서울에 위치한 L초등학교병설유치원에 자녀를 보내는 부모 중 유치원의 부모 학급보조자를 자발적으로 신청하여 선정된 어머니 13명이다. 연구를 위하여 부모 학급보조자와 관련된 문헌을 연구하고, 유치원의 부모 학급보조자를 자발적으로 신청한 13명의 어머니의 요구를 조사하여 분석하였다. 문헌과 요구조사 결과에 따라 프로그램의 목표, 내용, 운영방법, 교수-학습 활동 등을 선정하였다. 선정된 내용을 기초로 하여 요구조사 대상과 동일인을 연구대상으로 하여 부모 학급보조자 사전 교육 프로그램을 학기초 5주 동안 실시·평가하였고, 평가 결과를 토대로 수정·보완하여 부모 학급보조자 사전 교육 프로그램 모형을 개발하여 제시하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 부모 학급보조자 사전 교육 프로그램 모형에 대한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 개발된 부모 학급보조자 사전 교육 프로그램의 목표는 '교사를 보조하는 역할을 이해한다','부모 학급보조자로서 자신감을 갖는다','자녀의 유치원 생활을 이해한다','교사와 어머니의 원활한 의사소통을 증진한다','부모 학급보조자로 참여하는 활동에 적극적으로 참여한다' '유아교육에 대한 이해를 증진한다'이다. 둘째, 개발된 부모 학급보조자 사전 교육 프로그램의 내용은 부모 학급보조자가 참여할 수 있는 활동으로 교실의 공간을 중심으로 교실 내, 교실 밖에서 교사를 보조할 수 있는 활동으로 선정하였다. 활동 내용으로는 활동방법, 유아와의 상호작용, 부모가 유의할 사항을 포함하였다. 이 외에 자연 체험 활동은 견학 활동에 포함하였고, 동극을 활동에 포함하였다. 교구활용 방법, 유아행동 지도, 유아발달, 각 흥미 영역에 관련된 세부적 지식과 사례는 심화과정으로 교육시간을 구성하여 내용에 포함하였다. 심화과정은 어머니들의 요구에 따라 융통성 있게 시간을 계획하여 운영하도록 하였다. 셋째, 개발된 부모 학급보조자 사전 교육 프로그램의 교육대상자는 유치원의 부모 학급보조자로 자발적으로 신청한 부모이고, 부모 학급보조자가 선정된 후 사전 오리엔테이션을 실시한다. 사전 교육자는 유치원 원감이 담당한다. 프로그램 실시 기간은 1학기 이상으로 하고, 실시 시기는 당일 활동 참여 직전으로 한다. 1일 교육시간은 30분으로 하고, 교육장소는 넓은 책상과 편안한 어른용 의자가 있는 교무실로 선정하였다. 넷째, 개발된 부모 학급보조자 사전 교육 프로그램의 교수-학습 활동은 학습 형태를 소집단으로 구성하고, 교수-학습 방법은 소집단 강의와 토의를 병행하여 활용한다. 교수-학습 체제는 사전 교육 자료제공, 활동에 대해 생각 나누기, 소집단 강의, 질의·응답·토론, 활동참여, 토의방식의 평가 순서로 한다. 교수매체로 인쇄물 자료는 활동 참여 하루 전에 전자메일로 전송하고, 다양한 매체를 활용하며, 유아교육관련 책자를 1주일에 1번 정도 추천해 준다. 다섯째, 개발된 부모 학급보조자 사전 교육 프로그램의 부모 참여율을 높이기 위한 전략은 부모교육 프로그램 실시, 도서 대여 서비스, 개인상담 서비스, 신문기사 활용, 부모를 위한 좋은 '시' 소개, 간식제공, 자녀 돌보아주기를 실시한다. 여섯째, 개발된 부모 학급보조자 사전 교육 프로그램의 평가 방법은 프로그램 시작 전 요구평가, 소집단 토의를 통한 과정평가, 결과평가를 실시한다. 요구평가와 결과평가는 면대면 인터뷰 방법을 실시하고 1달에 1번 정도 부모 학급보조자 전체가 모여 전체평가를 한다. 본 연구에서 실시한 부모 학급보조자 사전 교육 프로그램에 대한 어머니들의 평가는 대부분 긍정적인 반응이었으며 만족하였다. 이는 프로그램이 효율적으로 운영되었으며 긍정적인 효과가 있음을 시사한다. 따라서 평가결과 수정·보완하여 개발된 부모 학급보조자 사전 교육 프로그램 모형은 유치원 현장의 상황과 학습대상자의 요구를 고려한 프로그램이므로 유치원 현장에 적합하고 체계적인 부모 학급보조자 사전 교육 프로그램의 방향을 제시할 수 있을 것이다.;The purpose of this study is to develop, implement, evaluate, and revise an education program for parent assistants in kindergarten classes based on parent volunteers' needs as a class assistant. Then, based on the result of the program, the author will develop an educational model for parent assistants in kindergarten classes, which will be useful in the field in various ways. The research questions are the following: 1. What are the parents' needs about an education program for parent assistants in kindergarten classes? 2. What is the process of developing and implementing the education program for parent assistants in kindergarten classes? 3. What are the results of evaluating and revising the education program for parent assistants in kindergarten classes? In this study, 13 mothers, who sent their children to a kindergarten annexed to L elementary school in Seoul and volunteered for class assistants , participated. The author researched previous studies related to parent involvement as class assistants, and executed a pre-study to examine and analyze the 13 participating mothers' needs about this' parent education program. The subjects were the same mothers from the pre-study. Based on the previous research and the pre-study, the objectives of the program, the program contents, the program management, and the instruction -learning activities were established. The education program for parent assistants had been implemented and evaluated for the first 5 weeks of a semester. Based on the results of and evaluating and revising of the program, an educational model was developed. The final educational model for ,parent assistants in : kindergarten classes has the following features: First, the objectives of the education program for parent assistants are the following: 1) Parents understand their roles that they assist the teacher. 2) Parents have heir confidence as a class assistant. 3) Parents understand their children's kindergarten life. 4) Increase active communication between parents and their teacher. 5) Parents involve actively in class activities, which they volunteer as a class assistant. 6 ) Increase, parents' understanding about early childhood education. Second, contents of the education program for parent assistants . include activities that parents can involve in: activities, which parents can assist teachers inside and outside of classrooms. Each activity includes how to do class activities, how to interact with children, and what the parents should be careful of. Class activities experiencing nature include fieldtrips, and performing activities are included in class activities. After the program was implemented, the sample mothers suggested an additional education time as a deepening course. The deepening course includes educational material usages, children's behavioral guidance, knowledge about children's development, and particular knowledge about each center of interests in a class. Also, the deepening course has a flexible schedule according to parents' time allowance. Third, the subjects of the education program for parent assistants are the parent volunteers in kindergarten classes. After the subjects are all selected, an orientation will be held. A vice director is in charge of educating the participating parents. The program will be implemented for over one semester, and each education session will be held right before the each class involvement of the parents. Each session lasts for 30 minutes. The teachers' office, where has a large table and big comfortable' chairs, is the place for providing education. Fourth, education about instruction-learning activities will be held in a small group. Lectures and discussions will be mostly used. The education is held in regular sequence of providing materials for the session, brainstorming about the day's class activities, listening to lectures, having a discussion, an actual class involvement, and evaluation of the day. The educational materials include printed materials, which are sent by an electronic mail a day before the volunteering day, various forms of materials, and ,reference books. related to early childhood education, which teachers suggest once a week. Fifth, there are some strategies to increase parent involvement and the number of parent volunteers; the strategies include providing other parent education programs, lending books, personal consultation, using articles in newspapers, which is related to early childhood education, on a bulletin board on the wall in kindergartens, introducing good poetry for parents, providing snacks, and day care services for the parent assistants. Sixth, evaluation of the education program for the parent assistants consists of a pre-evaluation about parents' needs, a process evaluation through small group discussions, and a final evaluation. Personal interviews with parents will be used for the pre-evaluation and the final evaluation. Also, a whole evaluation with the participating parents will be held every month. Most participating mothers were satisfied with and had positive perceptions about the education program for parent assistants. This shows that the parent education program was implemented efficiently and had positive effects. Finally, the development of the parent education program went through a careful revising and complementing process, as well as the program considered the field conditions and parents' needs, so that this educational model will suggest a systematic and suitable vision for kindergartens.
