학습부진아의 과학적 학습능력에 관한 연구

Abstract

개인차를 고려하지 않은 여건속에서 학습활동이 이루어짐에 따라 특히 사고를 요하는 과학교육에서는 학습능력이 낮은 학생 즉, 학습부진학생들의 적극적 참여가 어려운 실정이다. 본 연구는 Piaget의 인지발달을 근거로 구체적 조작단계에서 형식적 조작단계로 접어든 중학교 1학년 학습부진학생들의 과학적 학습능력 수준을 측정하여 정상집단과 그 수준을 비교해 보고 그 학습능력의 특징을 밝혀 학습부진학생에 대한 지도대책을 마련하는 기초자료를 제시하는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 이 목적을 수행하기 위하여 두 지역의 중학교 1학년 특수학급 및 정상학급학생들을 연구 대상으로, 논리적 조작 및 과학 개념 형성수준 검사지, 과학의 관찰능력 및 실험기구 조작 기능 검사지, 과학적 흥미 및 태도 검사지를 과학 학습능력을 측정하는 경사도구로 활용하였다. 이와 같은 기초조사들의 결과를 토대로 내려진 결론은 다음과 같다. 1. 학습부진집단학생들의 논리적 조작 및 과학개념 형성은 일반적으로 정상집단학생들에 비해 늦게 이루어지고 있으며, 특히 논리적 사고를 요하는 개념에서는 형성이 매우 어려운 것으로 나타났다. 2. 과학의 관찰능력에 있어서 지능이 낮은 학습부진집단학생들은 정상집단에 비해 일반적으로 열세를 보이고 있으며, 성질관찰과 비교 관찰 모두 정상집단학생들이 다양한 반응을 나타냈다. 3. 실험기구 조작 기능의 숙달수준에 있어서는 지능이 낮은 학습부진학생들의 숙달정도가 크게 향상되고 있으며, 이것은 학습부진학생이라도 경험이나 훈련에 의해서 지적능력에 관계없이 조작 기능은 숙달이 가능한 것으로 해석된다. 4. 학습부진집단과 정상집단학생들의 과학적 흥미 및 태도와 논리적 조작 및 과학개념 형성수준과의 상관관계는 학습부진집단이 정상집단에 비해 태도, 흥미 두 영역에서 모두 상관이 낮은것으로 나타났다.;Today's science education especially being needed the thinking don't afford the enough chances for the active participation to students of studying inability under the circumstance without considering the difference of individual. This study is to survey the ability level of scientific study in the studying inability students who are in the beginning formal operation stage from the concrete operation stage based on the Piaget's theory, compare the ability level of scientific study in the studying inability students with the ability level of scientific study in the normal students, recognized the character or studying inability students, and provide the teaching plans for them. The subjects were the students of specific class and the students of normal class in the first year of two middle schools. The testing paper for the logical operation and the level of scientific concept formation, the testing paper for the ability of scientific observation and the operational skill in experimental apparatus, and The testing paper for the scientific interest and attitude, are used for this study. On the basis of analyses of these surveys, the following conclusions have been drawn : 1. In the logical operation and the level of scientific concept formation, the studying inability students showed later achieving than the normal students. Especially, in the scientific concept formation requiring the logical thinking, it was very difficult for the studying inability students to form the scientific concepts. 2. In the ability of scientific observation, the studying in-ability students couldn't keep up with the normal students. The normal students showed more various reactions than the studying inability students in both the observation on material character and the comparative observation. 3. In the operational skill in experimental apparatus, the studying inability students who have the low I.Q made much progressing, which means than even the studying inability students can be skilled in operation skill through the exercises and the operations without concerning I.Q. 4. In the correlation between the scientific interest as well as its attitude and the logical operation as well as level of scientific concept formation, the studying inability students showed lower correlation than the normal students.
