감리교 여성의 사회의식 함양을 위한 교육방향

Abstract

From about 1980, Korean society has been experiencing rapid change politically, economically, Socially, culturally and even in regards to its sense of values. In such a changing society, how can the Korean church participate in providing vision for the future of the Korean people? To put it concrutely, it is our responsibility to have the vision to determine a system of values and a meaningful Life style which will give direction to Korean society and prevent cultural stagnation. In recent years, we have Lived under a military dictatorship which has been corrupt and has ignored issues of peace and justice and has deprived people of their means of livelihood and infringed on their human rights. The inconsistencies in our society could be conquered by the unification of the Korean race and by the achievement of peace; in other words, the people through a program of democracy can bring about the peaceful unification of Korea and then we can overcome our froblems . The Church. as coworkers with God in history, has the responsibility for bringing God's salvation to the people. When the church is participating in God's work, we see the true Church. Through the realization that the Korean Methodist women play a decisive role in Missio Dei, the proposal for an educational model of raising of the social consiousness of women it can become a stimulus for the educational policy of the Korean Methodist Church and aims to create a new and broader opening. Through the promotion of the social consiousness of the women in the Korean Methodist Church, making up 65% of the membership, they are able to become subjects in making the Korean Methodist Church take amore effective part in Korean history and in restoring the Weslyant tradition. This raising of social consciousness's theological foundation is based upon the "church inside out" and John Wesley's social salvation theory. Also, through a 17 question poll, the reality of Korean Methodist women's social consiousnesses was examined. Thus, this questionaire utilized methods of field survey and academic research. The presented model for raising social consciousness has its educational curriculum based on the epistemology of praxism while the content includes both women's liberation and human Liberation. The educational model consists of interpersonal relationship, developing a capacity for critical understanding and creative selfconsciousness which allows for the discovery of truth and personal transformation. In preparing this report, not only was there a Lack of available sources but I was also faced with my own personal limitations. However, through a dialogue with the women Leaders of various backgrounds I hope that this report will be of some value in the educational field.;1980년을 전후한 한국사회는 급격한 정치, 경제, 사회, 문화 그리고 국민생활의 가치관에 이르기까지 전면적인 변화를 경험하고 있다. 이같이 빠른 속도로 변화해 가는 사회 속에서 한국교회가 민족의 미래상 형성에 어떻게 참여할 것인가 하는 문제가 제기된다. 구체적으로 한국사회가 지향해야 할 문화적 정체성의 추구, 소유해야 할 가치체계, 삶의 양식등을 창조하는 일에 어떠한 비젼을 가지고 대처해 나갈 것인가가 과제로 부각된다. 오늘 한국사회는 군부독재의 지속으로 정의와 평화가 위협당하고 있으며 민중 생존권의 박탈, 인권침해, 부정부패 등으로 심각한 비인간화의 현상이 벌어지고 있다. 이러한 한국사회의 모순은 민족통일과 평화를 이룩함으로, 다시 말해 평화통일을 통한 민족의 민주적 발전과 민주주의의 확대 심화를 성취함으로 극복할 수 있다. 한국교회는 이같은 민족사의 과제를 하나님 나라의 비젼 속에서 수행해 나가야 할 책임이 있다. 왜냐하면, 교회는 인류의 구속사업을 위하여 역사 한 가운데서 일하시는 하나님의 동역자이기 때문이다. 따라서 인류를 위해 일하시는 하나님의 사업에 동참할 때 교회의 참 모습을 드러나게 된다. 그러므로 본 논문은 한국감리교회가 하나님의 선교에 동참하려고 할 때, 한국감리교회의 65%를 차지하는 여성의 사회의식 함양이 한국감리교회가 민족사 속에서 과제를 수행하고 감리교의 전통을 회복하며 하나님의 선교에 동참하는데 결정적 역할을 한다고 보기 때문에 감리교 여성의 사회의식 함양이 교육방향을 제시함으로 한국감리교 교육정책에 자극이 되고 감리교회가 새로워지는 계기가 되기를 목적한다. 여기에서 사회의식 함양의 신학적 근거는 흩어지는 교회를 중심한 교회론과 요한 웨슬리의 사회구원론에서 고찰해 보았다. 그리고 한국 감리교 여성의 사회의식 실태를 17문항에 이르는 설문지로 조사분석해 봄으로써 문헌연구와 현장조사를 병행하는 방법을 택했다. 사회의식 함양의 방향제시는 그 내용에 있어 여성해방 및 인간해방에 근거를 두고 교육과정에 있어서는 프락시스적 인식론에 기반을 두었다. 교육방법은 대화적 교육방법으로서 상호 인격적 관계 안에서 진리를 발견하고 인격적 변화를 일으키게 되는 비판적 인식능력과 창조적 자아의식을 창출해 가도록 하는 방법을 적용해 보았다. 자료의 불충분과 필자의 한계점을 고백하며 모든 여성 지도력과의 끊임없는 대화를 통해 이 논문이 교육현장에서 도움이 되었으면 하는 바램이다.
