코르셋의 장식기법을 응용한 탱고 댄스의상 디자인 연구

Abstract

Fashion industry is also suffering change by formation of new leisure culture and increase of entertainment activity according to change of life-style. Population who enjoy dance enough to entertainment market with change of 'Experience style leisure market' is injured in 'Watching style leisure market' past as leisure and culture activity are mixed, and social dance out of them is classified to one item is increasing steadily. As interest of publics for dance increases, necessity of costume for 'Dance that participate' brought as territory that is new in dance costume department had considered only with costume for 'Dance that watch'. This study wished to heightens development possibility of popular dance costume design that the increased demand is an expected boundary forward through dance costume design study that consider function, ornament and practicality, and did to costume for 'Tango' that is recognized artistic value and popularity so much so that is presented because is raised on the stage individually being a historic, cultural product among popular dance specially. This study aims to suggest expanding expression area of tango dance costume because suggest unique design as is differentiated with tango costume seen until present through various decorative effect and expression of surface texture studies technique and element of corset ornament that choose for motive to emphasize eroticism that is typical image of tango and tries to realize handcrafted and artistic expression. As the methods of study, I searched history and concept about tango through literature and picture data, and sorts kind and individuality of tango and decided range of study on Argentina tango. Studied dance costume of 1910-1920 that tango is time that was specially prevalent for tango dance costume analysis and investigated characteristic of tango motions and studied effective design and detail of costume. Also, analyzed individuality that appear in tango musical costume in present age and costume of tango competition participants. On the other hand, analyzed design that apply corset that searched through picture bibliographic data, and appears in modern fashion even if concern in technique and element of ornament. that appear to history and kind of corset that choosing for motive to express erotic image of tango. Also, I studied suitable expression technique on dance costume through a various fabric experiment to apply raced-up technique and coding technique that is representative technique of corset ornament to work. Used mainly raced-up technique and coding technique on tango dance costume that apply corset on the basis of this, and considers individuality of couple dance and manufactured costume for 4 woman, costume for 4 man, total 8 works link on costume between each couple. The results of this study are as follows. First, I found out the eroticism by one of typical individuality of tango dance through study of historic background and characteristic of tango dance and tango dance costume is the territory of art that can express beauty of the eroticism. Second, tango dance costume should be made by elastic fabrics that consider ability for exaggerated motion of dance and effective dance costume for tango on tops pointed in tight silhouette and back design, and bottoms added detail of slit and pleats to ensure of feet motion emphasizes individuality of tango dance motion. Third, corset is used variously for typical motive of eroticism along with supra phenomenon coming to present age, and raced-up technique that is main technique of corset ornament specially suitable to express erotic image of tango by tightens body to wear tight and does silhouette well prominently, and effective on tango dance costume that emphasize back designs because is used mainly in backside of work. Fourth, coding technique that one of main technique of corset ornament can maximize decorative effect by expression of each free line than Boning technique, as can display new beauty of form and surface effect in adding volume and relief effect to textile, to utilize on dance costume that fluidity is required was suitable. Fifth, modern tango costume is highest weight of black tuxedo and Stripe suit in man's occasion and have tendency to be been consistent but I gave value such as woman costume by implementing various design that this study emphasizes impression of couple wear uses from collar to point such as woman costume and adds splendor, and differentiates with existent man costume. This study applies form of corset and technique of corset ornament on tango dance costume, and expanded expression territory to fabric development that is handicraft through raced-up technique and coding technique. This presented possibility that can grope design that is upgraded as differentiate with monotonous existent tango dance costume, and development that is continuous forward through this research in interest and new angle is connected for boundary of expected dance costume expect.;라이프스타일의 변화에 따라 새로운 레저문화의 형성과 엔터테인먼트 활동의 증가로 패션산업 또한 변화를 겪고 있다. 레저와 문화 활동이 복합되면서 과거 ‘관람형 여가 시장’에서 ‘체험형 여가 시장’으로의 변화와 함께 엔터테인먼트 시장이 부상하고 있고, 그 중 사교댄스가 한 가지 항목으로 분류될 정도로 댄스를 즐기는 인구가 꾸준히 증가하고 있다. 춤에 대한 대중들의 관심이 증가하면서 ‘보는 춤’을 위한 의상으로만 여겨져 왔던 댄스의상 영역에 새로운 분야로서 ‘참여하는 춤’을 위한 의상의 필요성이 생겨났다. 본 연구는 기능성, 장식성과 실용성을 고려한 댄스의상 디자인 연구를 통해 앞으로 그 수요 증가가 예상되는 분야인 대중 댄스의상 디자인의 발전 가능성을 높이고자 하였으며, 특히 대중 댄스 중에서도 역사적, 문화적 산물이면서 단독으로 무대에 올려져 공연될 만큼 예술적 가치와 대중성을 인정받고 있는 ‘탱고’를 위한 의상을 대상으로 하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 탱고의 대표적 이미지인 에로티시즘을 강조하고자 모티브로 선정한 코르셋의 장식기법와 장식요소를 연구하고 수공예적이고 예술적인 표현을 시도하여 다양한 장식적 효과와 표면 질감의 표현을 통해 현재까지 보여진 탱고 의상과는 차별화 되면서 독창적인 디자인을 제안하여 탱고 댄스의상의 표현 영역을 확대하는데 있다. 연구의 방법으로는 탱고에 대한 역사와 개념을 문헌과 사진자료를 통해 알아보았으며, 탱고의 종류와 특성을 분류하여 연구의 범위를 아르헨티나 탱고를 중심으로 정하였다. 탱고 댄스의상 분석을 위하여 탱고가 특히 유행했던 시기인 1910～1920년대의 댄스의상을 살펴보고 탱고 동작의 특징을 고찰하여 이에 따른 의상의 효과적인 디자인과 디테일을 연구하였다. 또한 현대의 탱고 뮤지컬 의상과 탱고 경연대회 참가자들의 의상을 중심으로 그에 나타난 특성을 분석하였다. 한편, 탱고가 가지는 에로틱한 이미지를 표현하기 위해 모티브로 선정한 코르셋의 역사와 종류, 코르셋에 나타난 장식기법과 장식요소 등에 관해서도 사진과 문헌자료 등을 통해 살펴보았으며, 현대 패션에 나타난 코르셋을 응용한 디자인을 분석하였다. 또한 코르셋의 대표적인 장식기법인 레이스 업(laced-up) 기법과 코딩(cording) 기법을 작품에 적용하기 위하여 다양한 소재 실험을 통해 댄스의상에 적합한 표현 기법을 연구하였다. 이를 토대로 코르셋을 응용한 탱고 댄스의상에 레이스 업 기법과 코딩 기법을 주로 사용하였고, 커플 댄스의 특성을 고려하여 각각의 커플간의 의상에 연계성을 가지고 여성용 의상 4벌, 남성용 의상 4벌, 총 8벌의 작품을 제작하였다. 이러한 연구 과정을 통한 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 탱고 댄스의 역사적 배경과 특징의 연구를 통해 탱고 댄스의 대표적 특성 중 하나로 에로티시즘을 들 수 있으며, 탱고 댄스 의상은 이 에로티시즘의 미를 나타낼 수 있는 표현영역임을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 탱고를 위한 댄스의상은 과감한 댄스 동작을 수행하는데 있어 무리가 없도록 기능성을 고려한 신축성이 있는 소재의 사용이 필수적이며, 상의는 타이트한 실루엣과 백 디자인에 포인트를 두고 하의는 슬릿, 플리츠 등의 디테일을 가미하여 발동작의 자율성을 보장하는 것이 탱고 댄스 동작의 특성을 강조하는 데 효과적이었다. 셋째, 코르셋은 현대에 와서 수프라 현상과 더불어 에로티시즘의 대표적 모티브로 다양하게 활용되고 있고, 특히 코르셋의 주된 장식기법인 레이스 업 기법은 신체를 타이트하게 조여주어 실루엣을 잘 드러나게 함으로써 탱고의 에로틱한 이미지를 표현하는데 적합하였고, 작품의 뒷면에 주로 사용되어 백 디자인을 강조하는 탱고 댄스 의상에 효과적이었다. 넷째, 코르셋의 주요 장식기법 중 하나인 코딩 기법은 직물에 볼륨감과 양각효과를 부가하여 새로운 조형성과 표면효과를 나타낼 수 있으면서 보닝 기법에 비해 각각의 자유로운 선의 표현에 의한 장식적 효과를 극대화 할 수 있어, 유동성이 요구되는 댄스의상에 활용하는 것이 적합하였다. 다섯째, 현대의 탱고 의상은 남성의 경우 블랙 턱시도와 스트라이프 슈트의 비중이 가장 크며 일관된 경향이 있으나 본 연구에서는 여성 의상과 동일한 컬러를 포인트로 사용하여 화려함을 더하면서 커플웨어의 느낌을 강조하고, 기존의 남성 의상과는 차별화되는 다양한 디자인을 시도함으로써 여성 의상과 동일한 가치를 부여하였다. 본 연구는 탱고 댄스의상에 코르셋의 형태와 장식기법을 응용하고, 레이스 업 기법과 코딩 기법을 통한 수공예적인 소재 개발로 표현 영역을 확대하였다. 이는 단조로운 기존의 탱고 댄스의상과 차별화되며 고급화된 디자인을 모색할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하였고, 이를 통해 앞으로도 지속적인 발전이 예상되는 댄스 의상의 분야에 대한 관심과 새로운 관점에서의 연구가 이어지길 기대한다.
