구전심수 교육방법을 적용한 초등학교 국악 지도방안

Abstract

제7차 음악과 교육과정은 우리의 음악 문화를 창조하고 이끌어 가기 위해 국악교육을 강조하였으며 개정의 중점 사항으로 ‘우리 음악 문화의 창달을 위한 국악교육’을 선정하였다. 그러나, 초등학교 교사들은 여전히 국악을 가르치는 것을 어려워하고 있다. 초등학교 교사들의 경우 여러 교과를 담당하고 있기 때문에 초등학교 국악 교육방법에 대한 논의는 더욱 시급하다. 그러므로, 이 연구에서는 초등학교 국악교육의 효과적인 하나의 방법으로 전통적 국악교육 방법인 구전심수를 적용한 초등학교 국악 지도방안 개발을 목적으로 하였다. 이 연구에서는 구전심수 교육방법에 대한 연구가 많지 않으므로, 구전심수의 교육방법을 사용한 국악교육의 양상을 살펴봄으로 교육방법을 유추해 보았으며, 문헌연구를 통하여 구전심수 교육방법의 과정 및 특징, 한계점에 대해 살펴보았다. 그리고, 초등학교 음악과 교과서를 국악 가창 · 기악 영역을 중심으로 분석해 보았으며, 분석을 바탕으로 수업지도안을 개발하였다. 구전심수 교육방법은 악보나 약속 기호의 매개체를 의존하기 보다는 스승으로부터 직접 음악을 전해주고 전해 받는 방법으로, 음악을 음악 자체로 경험하고 국악의 특성을 충분히 표현하여 교육할 수 있으며, 암기가 반드시 뒤따르기에 그 기억이 총체적이면서도 지속적으로 유지될 수 있다. 또한 구음에 의한 암기 방법은 자신이 습득한 음악을 재창조 할 수 있는 기반이 된다. 하지만, 구전심수의 교육방법은 동기부여를 중요시 여기지 않은 점, 독보지도 과정이 결여되어 있다는 점, 소수를 대상으로만 이루어졌다는 점 등의 한계점을 갖고 있으며, 이러한 한계점은 ‘현대의 학교교육’이라는 시간성과 공간성과 관련된 것이다. 이러한 한계점을 보완하여 초등학교의 실정에 맞게 도출된 지도과정은 1단계: 동기부여, 2단계: 음악감상, 3단계: 구음 노래하기, 4단계: 악기 연주하기 또는 노래하기, 5단계 암기, 6단계 독보지도 과정이다. 지도안을 개발한 결과, 도출한 7개의 단계 이외에도 제재곡에 따라 지도과정에 포함되어야 하는 과정이 있었으며, 제한된 수업시간으로 인해 암기 과정을 독립된 과정으로 넣기가 어려우므로 악기 연주하기 또는 노래하기 단계에서 자연스럽게 암기를 강조하는 수준으로 만족하여야만 하였다. 동기부여 단계에서는 음악 교과 특성에 맞게 시청각 자료를 통하여 동기를 부여하였으며, 음악 감상 단계에서는 교사의 연주가 가장 좋으나 교사의 능력이 미치지 못할 것을 고려하여 음반을 감상하는 것으로 구성하였다. 독보지도는 정간보를 이용한 학습일 경우에만 지도과정에 포함시켰으며, 마지막 창작 · 응용 단계에서는 장구 학습의 경우에는 변형장단 만들기, 가창 수업일 경우에는 가사 바꾸어 불러보기, 단소 수업에서는 시김새 넣어보기가 주로 사용되었다. 제7차 교육과정에서 국악의 중요성이 강조된 만큼 그 교육목적을 실현하기 위하여 이 연구에서 제시한 구전심수 교육방법을 적용한 초등학교 국악 지도방안이 현장 수업에서 조금이나마 도움이 되길 기대해 본다.;The National 7th curriculum emphasizes education on Korean traditional music for creation and development of our traditional music culture. 'Korean traditional music education for the promotion of our music culture' has been selected as an important idea. However, teaching Korean classical music is still a burden for elementary school teachers. Since they teach various courses, education method on Korean classical music has to be settled without delay. Therefore, development of lesson plan applying Gujeonshimsu, the traditional teaching method of the music, as one of the effective method of Korean traditional music education in elementary school is the main goal of this research. Since study on this method had not been done much, education method is drawn from looking into aspects of Korean traditional music education which Gujeonshimsu method is applied in. Process, distinctive quality, and limit of the method are found from research on documents. Also, elementary school music textbooks are analyzed into singing and instrumental music field, and lesson plan is developed based on the analysis. Gujeonshimsu is the method that students learn from teachers in person rather than they go through musical notes and signs. It encourages them to experience music as it is, and express its characteristics. Students remember the lesson generally and continuously since memory work has to follow as Gujeonshimsu processes. The memory work through Gueum also becomes the base of recreation of music that students have learned. However, there are limits on Gujeonshimsu. The first limit is that motive does not consider as an important element. Second, reading notes is not included. Third, the method is only effective when there are small numbers of students. All the limits are genuinely related with modern school education which has to consider necrophilia and extensity. The proposed lesson plans for elementary school students are followed. Step 1: Providing motive to students Step 2: Listening music Step 3: Singing Gueum Step 4: Playing the instruments or singing Step 5: Memory work Step 6: Reading notes Development of lesson plan implies that requirements are needed besides six steps of lesson plan depending on the day's lesson. Since it is difficult to have memory work as an individual step in a given class period, memory work has to be emphasized while fourth step is processed. Motive is given to students through an audiovisual resource that is appropriate to each curriculum at the first step. At listening music step, teacher's capability to play the instruments may not be unsurpassed although that is the best technique to educate students, therefore, listening to music is combined. Reading notes is added to the lesson process in the case of studying used by Jeongkanbo. Making different Jangdan for Jangu class, singing lyrics for singing class, practicing Shigimsae for Danso class is applied in the last step of the process. As the National 7th curriculum emphasizes the importance of Korean Traditional Music education, Gujeonshimsu method has been introduced in this research for its goal. Korea Traditional Music lesson plan in elementary school based on Gujeonshimsu is expected to be practiced and helpful in the real life education.
