환경교양도서와 학교 환경교과의 내용 연계성 분석

Abstract

환경교육에 있어서 현장체험을 하는 것이 효과적인 학습이겠지만, 현실적으로 많은 제한을 받는다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 교양도서를 통해서 간접적으로나마 다양한 경험과 자료를 접할 수 있도록 환경교양도서의 주제 분석 및 분류하여 환경교양도서를 중·고등학교 환경교과 수업에 좋은 학습 자료로 활용하기 위한 도서 특성을 분석하고자 하였다. 이러한 목적을 위해 환경부에서 선정한 2002년, 2004년 중·고등학생용도서 및 일반인용도서 38편과 ‘환경책 큰잔치’에서 2004년에 선정한 도서 100편을 분석하였다. 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 환경교양도서에서 다루고 있는 주제로는, 환경에 대한 기본적이 내용과, 환경이 인간에 의해 변화 및 훼손되고 있다는 내용으로 환경에 대한 인간의 영향에 관련된 주제가 많았다. 환경과 사회에 대한 것으로 환경사상이나 환경 윤리, 환경 정책 및 경제에 관한 내용도 많은 것으로 나타났다. 반면 다른 주제에 비해 생태계에 대한 내용을 다루고 있는 도서는 많지 않았다. 둘째, 환경부 선정 우수환경도서의 연도별 주제 차이를 보면, 중학교 ‘환경’ 영역별로 분석한 결과 2002년에는 환경문제나 생활환경에 대한 주제의 도서가 많았으며, 2004년 우수환경도서에서는 인간과 환경에 대한 내용을 주제로 하는 도서가 가장 많았다. 고등학교 ‘생태와 환경’ 영역별로 분석한 결과 환경보전에 대한 내용으로 생물다양성이나 자원 등에 대해 다루고 있는 도서가 2002년, 2004년 모두 가장 많았다. 셋째, 환경교양도서와 학교 환경교육과정과의 연계성을 살펴보면, 우수환경도서를 중학교 환경교과 영역별로 분석한 결과 Ⅱ단원 ‘환경 문제와 그 대책‘ 내용을 포함한 도서가 가장 많았으며, 그 다음으로는 Ⅰ단원 ‘인간과 환경’의 내용으로 분류된 도서가 많았다. 2002년, 2004년 우수 환경도서를 고등학교 ‘생태와 환경’ 영역으로 분류한 결과를 보면 ‘환경 보전’의 내용을 가장 많이 다룬 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 Ⅳ단원 ‘지구적 환경 문제와 대응’에 해당하는 도서가 한 편도 없었다. ‘2004 환경책 큰잔치’의 100선을 중학교 ‘환경’의 영역별로 분류한 결과를 보면 Ⅰ단원 ‘인간과 환경’의 내용을 담고 있는 도서가 가장 많았다. 고등학교 ‘생태와 환경’의 영역으로 분류한 결과를 살펴보면, Ⅴ단원 ‘환경과 사회’에 해당하는 도서가 다른 영역에 비해 가장 많았다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 통해 환경교양도서를 교과 내용과 연계할 수 있는 도서가 상당히 많은 것을 알 수 있다. 또한, 이러한 교양도서를 다양한 교수 방법을 통해 수업내용에 적절하게 활용한다면 학습에 대한 이해와 도움을 줌으로써 학습효과를 높일 수 있을 것이다.;In environmental education, the actual experience at the scene is an effective way of learning, but in reality, there is a lot of limits. Therefore, this research analysed the books that give indirect experiences and data from the scene by the books' themes and contents to use them as a middle and high school environmental educational references. To achieve those goals, we analysed one hundred books that are from the 'eco book Festival' and other thirty eight books that are 2002 and 2004 Ministry of Environment's choice of middle and high school's and public's books. The analysis follows. First of all, the environmental educational books deals with themes that are mostly about general information about environment or contents that show how the environment has been changed and damaged by human. The other themes, which are recognizable, are about environment and society that mention environmental philosophies, environmental morals, environmental policies, and economies. Besides those two theme, there are not many books about the ecosystem. Secondly, When we look at the books' theme that Ministry of Environment's book choice by years, we can find out that there are more books about environmental problems and living environment in 2002, but in 2004 there are more books about human and environment. When we categorized the books by 'ecosystem and environment', both in 2002 and 2004, books that deals with preserving environment that mention diversity of plants and resources are the most numerous. Thirdly, we compared the environmental educational books and environmental education curriculum. We analysed middle school Ministry of Environment's book choice and found out that the books contain the contents about chapter II, environmental problems and the measures, the most and chapter I, human and environment, follows. We analysed High school Ministry of Environment's book choice by 'ecosystem and environment'. As a result, the most of the books are about 'environmental preservation.' However, there are no book about chapter IV, universial environmental problems and measures.' 2004 'eco book Festival's one hundred books are categorized by areas showing that books about chapter I, human and environment, are the most numerous. When we categorize them by high school 'ecosystem and environment' area, chapter V, environment and society' is the most mentioned theme compare to the other themes. From these researches, we can find out that there are plenty of books that are connecting these books to actual teaching. Also, using these educational books adequately, teachers may maximize their teaching effectiveness.
