Johannes Brahms Violin Sonata No.3 in d minor, Op.108의 분석연구

Abstract

본 논문은 필자의 석사과정 졸업 리사이틀 프로그램 중 요하네스 브람스(Johannes Brahms, 1833~1897)의「Violin Sonata No.3 in d minor, Op.108」에 대한 분석 연구이다. 브람스는 낭만주의 시대의 대표적인 작곡가로, 그의 음악은 고전주의와 낭만주의의 요소를 결합한 독특한 스타일을 가지고 있다. 브람스는 초기 낭만주의 작곡가들, 특히 로베르트 슈만(Robert Schumann, 1810~1856)과 프란츠 페터 슈베르트(Franz Peter Schubert, 1797~1828)로부터 큰 영향을 받았으며, 이는 그의 작품에서 복잡한 화성과 리듬의 탐구를 통해 나타난다. 또한, 루트비히 판 베토벤(Ludwig van Beethoven, 1770~1827)의 구조적 엄격함과 요한 제바스티안 바흐(Johann Sebastian Bach, 1685~1750)의 대위법 기법을 존중하며 이를 자신의 음악에 통합시켰다. 이러한 영향은「Violin Sonata No.3 in d minor, Op.108」에서도 명확하게 드러난다.「Violin Sonata No.3 in d minor, Op.108」은 1886년~1888년 사이에 작곡된 브람스의 마지막 바이올린 소나타로, 이전의 두 소나타와 달리 4악장으로 구성되어 있으며, 각 악장마다 브람스의 음악적 다양성을 잘 보여준다. 1악장은 d 단조로 시작하며, 비극적이고 집요한 주제를 중심으로 전개된다. 2악장은 D 장조의 서정적인 카바티나로, 악기 간의 대화를 통해 아름다운 멜로디를 선사한다. 3악장은 f# 단조의 불안하고 불규칙적인 스케르초로, 비밀스럽고 장난스러운 분위기를 유지한다. 마지막 악장인 4악장은 d 단조의 격렬하고 긴장감 넘치는 피날레로, 낭만적이면서도 정교하게 구성되었다. 본 논문은 브람스의 생애, 음악적 특징을 알아본 후「Violin Sonata No.3 in d minor, Op.108」의 구조 및 연구 분석을 통해 그의 음악적 기법과 표현을 이해, 탐구해 보고자 한다.;This paper is an analytical study of Johannes Brahms' 「Violin Sonata No.3 in d minor, Op.108」, which was part of the author's master's degree graduation recital program. Johannes Brahms, a representative composer of the Romantic era, has a unique style that combines elements of both Classicism and Romanticism. He was greatly influenced by early Romantic composers, particularly Robert Schumann(1810-1856) and Franz Peter Schubert(1797-1828), as is evident in his exploration of complex harmonies and rhythms in his works. Additionally, he respected the structural rigor of Ludwig van Beethoven(1770-1827) and the contrapuntal techniques of Johann Sebastian Bach(1685-1750), integrating these into his music. These influences are clearly reflected in「Violin Sonata No.3 in d minor, Op.108」. Composed between 1886 and 1888,「Violin Sonata No.3 in d minor, Op.108」 is Johannes Brahms' last violin sonata and, unlike the previous two sonatas, consists of four movements, each showcasing Johannes Brahms' musical diversity. The first movement begins in d minor and develops around a tragic and persistent theme. The second movement is a lyrical Cavatina in D major, offering a beautiful melody through the dialogue between the instruments. The third movement is an uneasy and irregular Scherzo in f-sharp minor, maintaining a secretive and playful atmosphere. The final movement, a fierce and tension-filled Finale in d minor, is both romantic and intricately constructed. This paper aims to explore Johannes Brahms' life and musical characteristics and through structural analysis and study of 「Violin Sonata No.3 in d minor, Op.108」, seeks to understand and investigate his musical techniques and expressions.
