어둠의 성격 4요소와 피해자 호소의 관계

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the impact of the Dark Tetrad on victimi signaling among Korean adult men and women. Specifically, the study sought to explore the mediating roles of interpersonal trust and social isolation in predicting victim signaling associated with the Dark Tetrad. To achieve this objective, an online survey was conducted with 300 adult men and women aged 20 and older. The collected data underwent analysis using SPSS 21.0 for descriptive statistics and correlation analysis, while Mplus 7.0 was employed to assess the significance of the structural model and mediating effects. The key findings of this study are outlined below. Firstly, the Dark Tetrad in adult men and women were found to significantly and positively predict victim signaling both directly and indirectly. Secondly, social isolation emerged as a positive mediator in the relationship between Dark Tetrad and victim signaling. Thirdly, interpersonal trust and social isolation serially mediated the relationship between Dark Tetrad and victim signaling. These findings suggest that in adult men and women, the Dark Tetrad not only directly predicts victim signaling but also indirectly does so through social isolation, and further serially through interpersonal trust and social isolation. Individuals exhibiting socially undesirable personality traits such as Machiavellianism, Narcissism, Psychopathy, and Sadism are inclined to harbor negative and distorted views of others. This leads to low interpersonal trust, strongly influenced by the stability and quality of their relationships, ultimately resulting in social isolation. Subsequently, this isolation contributes to victim signaling as a means to acquire social resources and support. The present study offers a novel perspective by exploring how Dark Tetrad impact interpersonal relationships and the psychological mechanisms underlying the use of deceptive tactics. This contributes to a more comprehensive understanding of Dark Tetrad in psychotherapy settings.;본 연구는 한국의 성인 남녀가 가진 어둠의 성격 4요소가 피해자 호소에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 구체적으로는 어둠의 성격 4요소가 피해자 호소를 예측하는 과정에서 대인신뢰와 사회적 고립감의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 만 20세 이상 성인 남녀 300명을 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 21.0을 통해 기술통계, 상관분석을 실시하였으며, Mplus 7.0을 사용하여 구조모형 및 매개효과의 유의성을 검증하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 성인 남녀의 어둠의 성격 4요소는 피해자 호소를 직·간접적으로 유의하게 정적으로 예측하였다. 둘째, 어둠의 성격 4요소와 피해자 호소의 관계를 사회적 고립감이 정적으로 매개하였다. 셋째, 어둠의 성격 4요소와 피해자 호소의 관계를 대인신뢰와 사회적 고립감이 순차적으로 매개하였다. 본 연구 결과 성인 남녀의 어둠의 성격 4요소가 피해자 호소를 직접 예측하면서도 사회적 고립감을 통해 간접적으로 예측하였으며, 대인신뢰와 사회적 고립감을 통해 순차적으로 간접적으로 예측되는 것으로 나타났다. 사회적으로 바람직하지 않은 성격 특질인 마키아밸리즘, 나르시시즘, 사이코패시, 사디즘 성향을 가진 이들은 타인을 바라보는 시각이 부정적이고 왜곡되는 경향이 있으며, 이에 따라 낮은 대인신뢰를 함유하고 관계의 안정성과 질에 큰 영향을 받게 되며 그것은 결국 사회적 고립감으로 나타나 이들이 사회적 자원 및 지지를 얻기 위해 피해자 호소를 나타낸다는 것이다. 본 연구는 어둠의 성격 4요소가 대인관계 측면에서 어떤 영향을 미치는지와 이들의 기만적 전술 사용에 대한 심리 내적 기제를 탐구하여 새로운 관점의 이해를 제공하였다. 이는 심리 치료 장면에서 어둠의 성격 4요소를 지닌 이들을 다각적으로 이해할 수 있도록 하는 데에 의의가 있다.
