일상 사물을 통한 감정이입 표현 연구

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 본인이 일상을 살아가면서 시간-죽음-상실-공허로 향해 가는 의식의 흐름에 따라 유동하는 감정을 가시적으로 표현하는데에 있다. 표현의 방법은 일상의 공간과 사물에 감정을 투영하여 은유적으로 드러내는 것이다. 이 과정에서 본인과 동화된 대상은 주관적 투사물로서 본인을 표상하거나 본인의 정서를 내포하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 그 안에 자리잡은 자신을 직시하며 현존하는 본인을 되돌아보고, 존재에 대한 사유를 통해 발견한 공허감을 표현하고자 하였다. 평소 은폐되어 있던 본인의 생각과 감정은 일상의 공간과 사물을 통해 환기되어 드러난다. 본인은 유년 시절에 거주했던 집과 조부의 죽음에 대한 기억을 계기로, 본인과 거리가 밀접한 공간이나 사물에 의미를 부여하게 되었다. 이는 외로움과 실존적인 공허를 해소하기 위한 심적 작용으로서 무의식 아래 깔려 있던 본인의 의지적 행동이다. 본 연구에서는 과거의 경험을 바탕으로 현재 집을 바라보는 방식과 현상을 감각적으로 체험하는 과정을 살펴보고 그 안에 존재하는 사물을 선택하여 정서를 반영하는 이유를 설명하고 있다. 이러한 전개 방식은 본인이 일상을 사유하는 과정의 일환으로서 시지각을 기반으로 현상을 바라보고 본인의 의식과 감각이 합일된 체험을 그리고 있다. 이를 토대로 본인은 대상에 본인의 감정을 응축하여 예술 작품으로 나타내었다. 작품에서 주로 표현되는 감정은 공허와 슬픔으로, 멜랑콜리 정서의 분위기를 자아내고 있다. 이러한 작품에서 등장하는 일상 풍경과 집은 본인이 직접 체험한 신체적 공간이자 삶의 중심이 되는 곳으로 본인의 시선과 사유를 시각적으로 표현한 것이다. 더 나아가 작품 속에 있는 사물들은 본인의 정서를 상징적으로 나타내며 본인 안에 형성된 감정을 비유하고 있다.본 논문에는 사진, 영상, 조각, 설치 방식을 사용한 총 7점의 작품이 수록되어 있다. 사진과 영상 작품은 매체의 특징인 시간성과 롤랑 바르트의 현상학을 토대로 함께 설명하였다. 조각과 설치 작품은 ‘사물에 감정을 투영하여 표현하는 방식’과 ‘낯설게 하기’ 방식을 사용한 펠릭스 곤잘레스 토레스와 메레 오펜하임의 작품을 사례로 뒷받침하여 설명하였다. 이러한 본인의 작업 방식은 대상을 통해 본인의 정서를 은유적으로 표현함으로써 예술로 정제된 대상을 바라보고 애도하는 것이라 할 수 있다.;The purpose of this study is to visually manifest the emotions that fluctuate according to the flow of consciousness towards Time-Death-Loss-Void experienced in daily life. This is achieved by projecting emotions onto everyday spaces and objects, revealing them metaphorically. In this process, the objects that are empathized with the self-serve as subjective projection objects, representing the self or embodying its emotions. The intent is to confront the self-situated within, to reflect on the existing self, and to express the sense of emptiness discovered through contemplation of existence. Thoughts and feelings that were usually concealed become ventilated and exposed through everyday spaces and objects. Memories of the house lived in during childhood and the death of a grandfather served as catalysts for attributing meanings to spaces and objects closely related to the self. This is a volitional action lying beneath the unconscious as a mental operation to alleviate loneliness and existential emptiness. The study examines the way of looking at the present home based on past experiences, the process of sensuously experiencing phenomena, and explains the reason for reflecting emotions by selecting objects existing within. This unfolding method is part of the process of contemplating daily life, looking at phenomena based on time perception, and drawing experiences where consciousness and senses are united. Based on this, the self has condensed emotions into objects and manifested them as artworks. The emotions mainly expressed in the works are emptiness and sadness, evoking an atmosphere of melancholic sentiment. The everyday landscapes and houses that appear in these works are physical spaces directly experienced by the self and the center of life, visually expressing the self's gaze and contemplation. Furthermore, the objects in the work represent the self's emotions, metaphorizing the emotions formed within the self. This thesis includes a total of 7 works using photography, video, sculpture, and installation methods. Photography and video works are explained together based on the temporality of the medium and Roland Barthes' phenomenology. Sculpture and installation works are explained backed by examples of Felix Gonzalez-Torres and Meret Oppenheim's works using the methods of 'expressing emotions by projecting onto objects' and 'making them strange'. Such working methods of the self can be said to be looking at and mourning the refined subject in art by metaphorically expressing the self's emotions through the subject.
