국내 유아 교육현장에서의 정서·사회 발달을 위한 음악활동 연구 문헌 분석

Abstract

본 연구는 2004년부터 2023년까지 최근 20년간 국내 유아 교육현장에서 연구된 유아의 정서·사회 발달을 위한 음악활동 관련 학술지 논문 46편의 내용을 분석하여 국내 유아 교육현장에서 음악의 치료적 특성을 활용한 음악활동의 적용 가능성 및 국내 음악치료 연구가 나아가야할 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 분석 항목은 연도별 현황, 연구자의 학문적 배경, 연구 장소와 연구 대상자, 측정도구, 연구 목표, 음악활동의 유형, 연구의 구성요인 평가로 설정하였으며, 그 결론은 다음과 같다. 연도별 현황을 통해 현재 정서·사회 영역을 목표로 하는 음악활동 연구가 지금까지도 비슷한 비율로 지속적으로 이어지고 있음을 확인하였으며, 연구 목표는 정서지능 향상과 사회성 증진이라는 포괄적 상위 개념의 목표를 설정한 경우가 과반 이상의 비중을 차지하였다. 노래부르기 활동을 포함한 통합적 음악 활동이 비중이 가장 높았으며, 음악 감상은 비교적 독립적인 형태의 활동으로 진행되어 유아의 정서지능 발달에 있어 노래부르기 활동 다음으로 많이 활용된 활동으로 확인되었다. 또한 연구의 구성 요인 평가에서 과반 이상의 연구가 음악 요소 특성에 관한 직접적인 근거를 제시하기보다 음악활동의 효과성을 나타낸 선행연구를 근거로 제시하였으나, 음악적 요소의 치료적 특성을 활동에 반영했을 때의 이점을 근거로 제시하는 연구들도 43.4%를 차지하였다. 이것은 음악활동이 유아의 발달에 효과적임을 나타내는 일반적 사실 위에 음악적 요소를 잘 반영한 음악활동은 유아의 정서·사회 발달 촉진에 더욱 효과적임을 나타낸다. 이러한 결과의 근거하여, 일반 교육 현장에서 시행되는 음악 활동 연구에서 음악적 요인의 치료적 특성을 충분히 이해하고 연구에 반영할 수 있는 후속 연구가 필요함을 제안하였다. 본 연구는 46편의 국내 유아 대상 음악활동 연구를 분석하고 이를 통해 국내 유아 교육현장에서 실행할 수 있는 음악 활동 프로그램을 개발하고 적용할 수 있도록 기초 자료를 제시하는데 의의가 있다.;The purpose of this study is to investigate the potential application of music activities with therapeutic qualities in preschool education and to propose future directions for research in music therapy within the South Korean context. This research paper examines a corpus of 46 academic articles published in South Korea between 2004 and 2023, all of which focus on the role of music activities in the emotional and social development of preschool children within the domestic educational landscape. The analysis encompasses several facets, including the publication timeline, researchers' academic backgrounds, research settings, participant demographics, measurement tools, research objectives, types of music activities, and the assessment of research components. An analysis of publication years reveals a consistent rate of research on music activities geared toward emotional and social development in preschool children. The predominant research objectives revolve around broader concepts such as enhancing emotional intelligence and improving social skills. Among the various types of music activities, integrated approaches, including singing, are the most prevalent, with music appreciation emerging as a relatively independent and widely-used method for fostering emotional intelligence development in preschool children. In terms of evaluating research components, over half of the studies draw upon prior research demonstrating the effectiveness of music activities, as opposed to directly providing evidence regarding the therapeutic aspects of musical elements. However, 43.4% of the studies do offer support for the therapeutic qualities of musical elements within these activities. This suggests that music activities that effectively incorporate musical elements, building upon the established effectiveness of music activities, hold greater promise for promoting emotional and social development in preschool children. Consequently, based on these findings, it is recommended that future research in music activities conducted within educational settings should strive to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the therapeutic characteristics of musical elements and actively incorporate them into their research endeavors. This study, by analyzing 46 domestic research papers focusing on music activities for preschool children, offers essential groundwork for the development and implementation of music activity programs within the context of South Korean preschool education.
