임준희의 칸타타 《한강》(2011)에 대한 연구

Abstract

작곡가 임준희(1959~)는 국악과 양악, 전통과 현대를 잇는 작곡가로 가곡, 실내악, 관현악, 오페라, 칸타타 등 다양한 장르의 음악으로 한국의 정체성을 표현하며 한국창작음악을 대표하는 작곡가로 활동하고 있다. 특히 그녀의 칸타타 《한강》은 성악과 관현악이 포함된 5부 구성의 대규모 칸타타로, 평창올림픽의 성공적인 개최를 기원하며 열린 제92회 강릉시립합창단의 정기연주회에서 대표 한국창작음악으로 연주되며 한국의 아름다운 강인 ‘한강’을 소재로 세계의 평화를 전달하기도 하였다. 본 논문은 임준희의 칸타타 《한강》(2011)의 분석 연구로 작곡가가 작품 속에서 제시하는 독자적인 어법 및 체계를 통해 본 작품에서 그녀가 표현하고자 하는 음악은 무엇이며, 현재 한국의 창작음악으로서 임준희의 음악이 가지는 의미를 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 본격적인 칸타타 《한강》의 분석에 앞서 연구자는 임준희의 작곡 경향과 대표 작품을 통해 그녀의 음악세계관을 고찰하고, 본 작품 이외에 그녀가 작곡한 2개의 칸타타 작품(국악칸타타 《어부사시사》, 칸타타 《송 오브 아리랑》)을 살펴본 후, 칸타타 《한강》의 전체적인 개요와 함께 1부에서 5부까지 각 세부 악장으로 나누어 분석하였다. 칸타타 《한강》은 1부 <강의 태동>, 2부 <삶과 전설>, 3부 <고난의 역사 속에서 일구어 낸 한강의 기적>, 4부 <자유와 평화의 한강>, 5부 <미래의 강 - 아라리 한강> 총 5개의 부와 세부 악장으로 나뉘며 각 악장은 내용에 따라 다양한 악기 편성 및 연주 편성, 한국적인 소재, 음악 어법, 구조, 가사의 사용 등을 서구의 장르인 칸타타와 결합시켜 한강의 모습을 노래함으로써 한국적인 정서를 전달할 뿐만 아니라 세계의 평화를 기원하며 한국창작음악의 세계화를 보여주었다는 점에서 그 의의가 크다. ;Composer Lim Jun-hee (1959~) is a composer who connects Korean traditional music and Western music, traditional music and modern music, expressing Korea's identity through various genres of music such as song, chamber music, orchestra, opera, and cantata, and is active as a composer representative composer of Korean creative music. In particular, her Cantata 《Han-River》 is a large-scale, five-part cantata that includes vocal music and orchestral music, and was performed as a representative Korean creative music at the 92nd Gangneung City Choir's regular concert held in hopes of a successful hosting of the PyeongChang Olympics, and conveyed world peace based on Korea's beautiful river ‘Han River’. This dissertation is an analysis study of Lim Jun-hee's Cantata 《Han-River》 (2011), and aims to examine what music she wants to express in this work through the composer's own music language and system presented in the work, and the meaning of Lim Jun-hee's music as a current Korean creative music. To analyze the above works, the researcher first reviewed Lim Jun-hee's view of work, looked at two cantatas(Cantata 《Uboosasisa》, Cantata 《Song of Arirang》) she composed in addition to this work, and analyzed 5 parts along with the overall outline of Cantata 《Han-River》. Cantata 《Han-River》 is divided into five parts and detailed movements: Part 1 <The Birth of the River>, Part 2 <Life and Folk tale>, Part 3 <Miracle of the Han River in Suffering History>, Part 4 <The Han River of Freedom and Peace>, and Part 5 <River of the Future-Arari Han River>. Each movement is significant in that it not only conveys Korean emotions but also shows the globalization of Korean creative music by singing the appearance of the Han River by combining various musical instruments and performances, Korean materials, musical diction, structure, and lyrics with the Western genre of Cantata.
